Central, Utah ~15 acre Fire burning into residences 6/30/2024 from about 3:30 to 8:30 pm. Multiple State, Fed, and local agencies. Blaze was attacked with crews and over 20 fire vehicles, two helicopters and a retardant plane, two passes.
Video at the beginning taken with a retired 25 yr LVMP veteran officer near his property. There was some frustration because we didn’t hear sirens on the street as the fire raced uphill and we didn’t think there was any fire suppression in place there.
Later we discovered the fire did sneak around the hill and did damage to a home. There is frustration at that point as well as it wasn’t apparent the house fire (smoke emanating from vents) was even seen as nearby firemen didn’t look at it.
However, the fire was being addressed from the front and interior of the home. There are also clips from our deck downwind of the fire as the plane flies overhead on attack and then after we evacuated, video taken from Pine Valley highway as the choppers hit hotspots. All horses and cattle were safe. Bonus footage, photos of the day after.
