I feel like Mafuyu fits Shinobu or Kanao better than Giyuu. I think Giyuu is more similar to Kanade on the sense that they both blame themselves for their loves ones' deaths and hyperfixate on getting better at their craft to not feel totally worthless. You can still get the point of wanting to "disappear" across bc Kanade also wants to "disappear" and composing/saving Mafuyu is the only thing keeping her going, like Giyuu with demon slaying. Mafuyu fits Shinobu bc she hides her depression with a smile, leading to everyone thinking she's "perfect" She also fits Kanao die to the fact that they lost themselves due to their parents
