Thank you so much for this my cat is 16 pounds and I could not find a 2xl litter box anywhere, my sister makes me keep the box outside so I made a cat door from my screen in order for my cat to run in out to the balcony to be outside and go potty, plus I need a top to keep the Flys away. 😮

Hows the carpet holding up where you stapled it? Is it holding into the tube well? Im about to start this project.
Staples holding just fine after 20 years now. Part the carpet so you can sink the staples down to the backing and it will hold up just fine. Air stapler is key as doing it by hand is for the birds.
Put a heat gun on it and it will cut like butter.

Love this design. DK if my kitty (the Polydactyl Tuxedo Cat in my picture above.) would want something so tall. But, I'm wanting to make a tree similar to yours. I never knew what to use for the coverings - now, I know. TYSM for sharing this video with us. I am truly inspired to make something similar, but, I may have to use cardboard boxes for the form and carpet as you suggest. DK yet. TY again.
How often do you change that litter box

I tried this a while back. The problem with using storage bins is that none of the bottoms are flat. All have a ridge that collects wet litter making it very hard to scoop.
I noticed that too but it usually only occurs when the litter level is too low. Keeping approx. a 4" base of litter seems to work fine for me.

We started using these for our cat about 5 years ago. We never cut a hole in the boxes. Just buy the box, pack away the lid, & pour in the litter. They jump right in.
How did you smooth out the edges?
I didn't have to, the razor blade make for a nice clean cut. This is why I don't use a Dremel to cut the hole out. Otherwise if needed a medium hand file could be used to smooth the edges over.
That cat tree is completely awesome I've come to the conclusion I have to build my own also. Do you have floor plans online for the one you built
Thanks, sorry no plans available, I found it was easier to visualize it as I was making it and drafting plans would've just slowed down the entire build.
Did the same thing, except with a top entry hole cause we have a kicker and jumper. He uses it with no problems and I have a litter free, poop free floors.

I built one extremely similar for my friends twins. For the bark look I used a tight woven textured carpet. The base had two interior levels, the upper aligned with a limb. Idk what to call the trees seen in lion king but that was my inspiration.
The trees from The Lion King are Acacia trees.
I live in Pennsylvania and don’t have one of those farm and feed stores near me unfortunately. I have a Tractor Supply but that’s about it. Any suggestions as to other ways to save or if you know of any stores like this one in southeastern pa? Thanks 💖 I love your videos.. I just found you on here .. love the bengals 🥰
Something also worth looking into as a low cost option is using pine pellets as an alternative to clay litter. I have yet to try it myself but from what I gather from watching others videos on it's reasonably priced if buying the 40lb bags of it and your local Tractor Supply may carry that.

Not sure, you'd have to search for it. I bought the carpet from my local big box store on '04.
Hey dude you seem quite knowledgeable about Bengal cats so I think you can help. My cat is a snow Bengal (M, 2-3 yrs old) and after getting a vac shot, the area near his ears started to become more pink than usual. My family has a feline (pun intended) that he has an allergy. Could you help me (and by extension - my cat) know what's going on without telling me "sorry but maybe try asking a professional?" ?
Without seeing it one can only speculate the number of things it could be. The best answer really is to ask your vet, or better yet bring him back in for an examination. It's may be small fee to pay but isn't it worth it for his well being and to put your mind at ease?

Currently, with 6 young cats, I only have one that's got a hole cut in the side. The other 3 boxes are just large plastic totes that I leave the lid off of and they hop in and out. As they age, I will eventually create these with the holes in the front for them, so it's easier on their joints. I think its an awesome idea and keeps way more litter inside the box, for sure!
Agreed, these bins work great for cats that pretend they are digging a hole to the other side of the earth. No worries of having a 4 inch litter depth so they can bury their sausages down deep either.
They are both so pretty and loved. That tree is just amazing!!

Be prepared to baby proof your dwelling, there's nothing busy cats like these won't try to knock over, get into or on top of, try to eat, or chew on. Best of luck to you and your new kitty!

Bang is 13 years of age in the video, who has mellowed considerably in the last few years. Simply put, as youngsters and especially kittens, Bengals will be nuttier than squirrel turds and will do most of what I described in my first post.

For a bengal cleo is gentle. Cleo’s paw in Bang’s face , that seemed to say : come on, give me a try ! Well , it looks like Bang is still the boss of Cleo .Kitty ballet music is a nice touch 💕!

Fun to watch! Do you notice whether Bangel cats really shed LESS than other breeds?
Perhaps slightly less shedding than most short haired cats as their coats are more laid back (aka pelted). I think it really depends on the cat as well as the coat length. The longer the fur the greater chance it has to be pulled loose, stick to something, and thus be noticed.
Great job. Catnip is a good attractant for testing new sisal rope too.

I did the exact same thing with a clear container from home depot. My cat would kick the litter out when hiding her poop and I needed a litter box with rly high walls, couldn't find one so I made my own. An entrance cut closer to the ground would be better for arthritic cats. I also don't close the top with the lid so it can air out and my cat won't have to deal with any stink.
We are leaving our lid off for now as our new kitty is fascinated when our older one is doing his business, gives him the option of not feeling trapped as he can leapfrog out of the box right over the top of her. Another idea for those with arthritic cats would be to create a small ramp or step up to further ease getting in and out.
She sort of cares about the water , but not really .
