Control System Commissioning Tip: Date Flag
Welcome to my channel! In this video, I share a crucial tip for control system commissioning: creating a Date Flag using the system time of the PLC. This technique is essential for hiding or disabling all commissioning test bits and tags that often appear on the screen during commissioning but shouldn't be there once the machine is commissioned.
How to create a Date Flag using the system time of your PLC.
Step-by-step instructions for implementing this technique.
Tips to ensure all commissioning test bits and tags are hidden or disabled post-commissioning.

    Well, I do not know too much about control systems, but I'm willing to learn. And I do know that hydraulic systems contain hydraulic fluid. Their a special blend to also act as a preservative on the metal and o-rings, reduce boiling point and boil off, reduce flammability, etc. I used to work on aircraft hydraulics in the Naval Air. The other concepts you mentioned, valves, pumps, the hardware, I am very familiar with. I guess I just need to work on the controls side of things. I was thinking PLCs, or something similar. Background, mostly mathematics, with a heavy emphasis in ME courses, both BS and MS. Not sure what the best option is if I choose to go into PLC. I like robotics and machine vision. An are of interest is defect detection.

    In your first circuit, the zener is DROPPING 5v. You can easily verify this with a multimeter. You indicated that the relay requires roughly 2.5v. So you need an additional 2.5v from the 5v you are applying in order to trigger the relay. That gives you roughly the 8v that you are seeing. Going with the 12v zener only makes the problem worse. Also, diodes of any kind have a current rating. I think you are greatly exceeding the rating of your zener and therefore you require some current limiting via a resistor. The coil resistance of the relay is very low, so you are way overdiving your zeners this way. Finally, I'm not sure what your thought process is in using a zener as a trigger. It's not a switch. A zener is typically used to clamp a voltage at some limit (usually with resistor in a voltage divider configuration) and not for detecting that a voltage is at a particular level. If I were attempting this, I would probably use a properly biased transistor to trigger the relay, or better yet a comparator driving the transistor.

    • @MrMitdac01
      @MrMitdac01 11 днів тому

      9 volt will not work because he use 2 1k , i mean voltage over Zener diode only 4.5v it will not work. , you see , the rule here is Zener diode will reduce Volt to 5.1V it means. You need create higher voltage, in your case , you need 2 different resistor 1 is 1k other mabe 10k . other so you can get 5.1v out put

    We just measured the ripple on the couple of these we have in our lab for basic testing. Anywhere above 2.4 to 3 A at a higher voltage draw (in our testing, 28V) will send the ripple into a frenzy (at 5A, we saw around 3.5V peak to peak) These damaged a piece of equipment doing that, so they're being relegated for non-critical work.

    ODot has great cheap extention modules, PSU go for Weidmueller the go for 100€, i belive Delta has some cheaper psu. You can get sensors form Chinese suppliers, if its not an industiral application. Phoenix contact has cheap push in terminals. On the plc side go for at least 1214 if not 1215. We made bigger machines using Siemens 1200 series, its very powerful in the right configuration.
