Hey, thank you so much! I honestly feel quite honored that somebody so well versed in piano is giving the arrangement a go. While putting this piece together, I was presented with so many strange things I had never come across, including mostly right / left hand independence. So that section is actually a skill set that I mostly developed at work. I’m a drummer, and one of the ways I like to annoy people I work with is drumming on my desk with my hands/fingers haha. Basically, this started with me tapping out the pattern R3 L2 R2 L3 (repeat). I would try to make the rhythm as evenly spaced as possible and make each note as consistent (volume/velocity) as possible. At first, I used my wrist a little bit as a way to almost cheat the 16th note rhythm (just alternating RLRL with the wrist, and throwing in the finger initiation for each tap), but slowly I was able to start doing this while only using my fingers and no wrist/arm motion. From here, I started doing more complex patterns, like R4 L2 R3 L3 R2 L4 (repeat over and over) and R2 L4 R3 L3 R4 L2 (repeat). I added more and more fingers, finally working my way up to and up and down pattern: R1 L5 R2 L4 R3 L3 R4 L2 R5 L1 R4 L2 R3 L3 L2 R4 (repeat over and over). Again, just concentrate on the rhythmic accuracy and consistency of volume. For all of these, start slow and work up to 160. By the time I started messing around with this arrangement, this section came pretty naturally probably from all of this tapping on my desk haha. In my exp it's rare to come across a drummer that also plays keys, so it's super interesting to hear how those two worlds interact. I think I'll start that section like a tortoise then and work up to a hare 😅 The funny irony of this is that what *sounds* easier isn't for me. Being a long-time pianist, I've had little issues playing the parts of your arrangement where the note sequences are different on each hand (LR independence) which most would assume to be more difficult. I'm doing some cool things with your arrangement on my DP right now, with organ sounds, percussion, etc. Again, awesome job. I think you might be a bit of a genius tbh. I would've never thought of a delay sequence like that. EDIT: I almost got it now thanks to your response. Just had to get over that mental hurdle. Now just working on making it muscle memory!
