I’m from the Christopher Reeve era. I was 5 when I saw the 1st Superman movie. Fast forward to the Snyder film I enjoyed Henry as Superman. Now we have a new Superman and I’m rooting for him because it’s not just a Superman movie. It’s about the message and the symbol that Superman represents. Hope. I really enjoyed your reaction. Look up. You will believe a man can fly. I was 11 when Superman The Movie came out. The scene where Lois dies makes me cry to this day. In this trailer Superman calling Krypto made me cry.

1978's Superman the Movie will always be THE superhero comic book movie for me. It showed people how to adapt a comic book character to film...it only took 25 years for Hollywood to figure it out with Sam Raimi's Spiderman movies. I don't really dig on superhero movies too much - I love the OG Superman 1 & 2, Tim Burton's 2 Batman movies and then the rest is a whole lot of okay stuff and not very okay stuff, until James Gunn comes along and releases his first GotG movie, and then Dead Pool with it's irreverent comedy and its complete deconstruction of superhero movies. All that just to say, this Superman movie looks like it could be the best version of Superman since 1978.

Yeah Lex is a great villain and that's why Superman Returns suffered because they hinted at Lex and Superman's hostility but didn't delve into it to much . In this movie I am wanting to see Lex and Superman's dynamic more too . i think this movie will surpass Superman Returns on terms of action, quality and storytelling .
