Thoughts on Osaka, Japan in 2024 (+ Day Trip to Nara) [Travel Vlog]
Osaka, Japan! Everyone knows about the food -- but is that all that this city has to offer? I was curious to find out during my visit to this city.
Luckily, I was able to meet up with a local friend to get their perspective later in this video. This vlog also showcases some footage from an afternoon trip I took to the ancient capital city, of Nara.
I hope you enjoy this video from my last stop in Japan. It was quite bittersweet to move on from this country. Out of 30 countries I've visited in my life, Japan proved to be one of my favorites. Fortunately, there are many more exciting stops to come during this journey :-) Thanks for coming along ~ All the best, Vlad

Glad you enjoyed your time - greatest city in the world hands down
very very good video vlad. top guy
You're so SERIOUS; try enjoying yourself, it'll be a new experience for you. 😂
I was there in October and i have to say while London is very busy its truly ine if the mist special places on our planet!! London is my ❤
Thank you so much for taking the time to create this vlog. Very thoughtful and insightful personal view of our capital. You absolutely dispel every negative anecdote of the "American tourist" and their comments when in the UK. I hope you get the opportunity to return and explore both London and the UK more widely. I lived in London twice, in the late 1970s and and 2004 - 2010. I was amazed what had changed, but also what had not changed in the intervening years. When in London again, try to think of and explore the individual neighbourhoods or 'Boroughs' as separate villages - it works and you get so much more from each local area in terms of history and culture. Take care and look forward to welcoming you back to the UK soon.
Hey lad. I really enjoy how you connected, despite being a newbie . You don't need to blow loads of money in London and have an amazing time. The rest of Blighty is amazing though. When i work (hopefully only 3 months a year) I'm whizzing about the big smoke on a motorbike, delivering blood & heart valves n stuff The best way to learn our capital, 14 hours a day on two wheels & Hanging on street corners like some sort of cyber hooker.. 😊
No such thing as a British accent
Colorado is definitely on my list of places to see.
I forget just how big London is as someone that lives here - residents often find their corner and have plenty enough there to live in that bubble, occasionally passing through central. Hard for tourists to do, but there is an absolute abundance of gold spots away from the centre that really make the city what it is. For anyone into history, areas like Wapping, Bermondsey and the various east docks are a great place to visit for some real gems. Some of the lesser known parks and the large cemeteries are also great visits.
You probably meant the elizabeth tower only the clock is big Ben
Great vlog 👍
As Del Boy would say, "What a Soppy Tart!"
Obviously, not being a working class native, you won't see the horrendous side of London, which we live in daily. But yeah, London has some good points, but all are slowly dwindling.
You found a lot of fascinating places in London. There are a bunch of them but most vloggers just go with the obvious. Well done, sir.
Really appreciate your thoughtful commentary, great vlog❤ 😊
British accent? 😂
We have an employee who is currently on a particle physics MSc course at a prestigious UK university. Over half the course content of her first semester was formulated during the Age of Enlightenment. The impact of that period on both contemporary science and art is quite extraordinary, given that it ended over 200 years ago.
Great that you got to hear Big Ben. A lot of people think they can 'see' it. Glad you enjoyed London.
Next time definitely check out the science museum just round the corner (LITERALLY) from the natural history museum as its super fun ...especially downstairs where they have the experiments kids & adults can play with and the bubble presentation....my kids went with us several times and everyone enjoyed it...theres not too many museums as a brit that ive been too multiple times but the nh & science i always recommend 😊😊 glad you enjoyed your time in my beautiful city x ps i used to live near notting hill/portobello rd....definitely a really amazing place to spend the day x 😀
As a born and bred Londoner only New York is comparable, both are equal but different, dense and bursting with energy. Nice overview, hope you come back soon! Next time head south to Tooting for the food scene 😋
I love London but I grew up in the Chicago area. So I must be a city girl. The smaller places are fine but they get so incredibly boring. I love having all of the options of food, stores, museums, etc.
Thank you for your sensory vlog. made it much easier for me to plan my trip coming in spring, as i have disabilities that highly affect my senses.
Awesome
Why are people so brainwashed by western media and propaganda ? What fear? Belgrade and rest od Serbia is 100 times safer then any US city or London or Paris
This is the best ‘American in the UK’ video I have seen by miles, it should have a million views. If only all tourists were as thoughtful and considered as you.
I like your attitude. Subbed.
Deep very deep.
your thoughts are really-well articulated and interesting. great job
Great video,And a great sense of individual philosophy,When astute as yourself,You can appreciate London and other cities,London is mindblowing for curious intelligent individuals,The Romans called it Londinium,The capital city to an ancient land,It’s good you had no language barriers here,Being a cousin from the USA 🇺🇸,The Museums are great,Great video.
Hi Vlad, great video ! I really liked how you put things into perspective and also the conclusions you drew from your journey. I wish there were more young people like yourself ! Cheers !
Your'e a true gentleman and a credit to your nation, We would welcome you back anytime. You mentioned how many parks London has, In fact London has enough trees to be considered as a forest.
Meeting locals is the best ways to experience the culture firsthand. When traveling to Osaka, I recommend joining one of my meetup events. It’s a rare opportunity to meet and talk to locals in English
@@osakameetup Absolutely! I actually went to a meetup event in Osaka run by the Osaka philosophy group! It was such a great time
I worked at the British Museum for a year as a security guard, a while ago now. I did nights so spent many hours wandering around mummies and ancient artefacts in the dark...
Yes, it's a perfect and diverse universe for the tourist and visitor to be lost in and to wander around for days... weeks.... months...years. If you can afford it. Try to be an average EU or non-EU worker who regularly and steadily lives there...all this WOW effect would vanish. 🤭 Sorry I am speaking from my non-tourist, nor British nor American POV but as an ex Londoner;)
The nations Capital Toilet 👍
Visit the John Soane museum, Lincoln Inn Fields if you get the opportunity…fascinating collection. I lived in London for around 50 years and there is still so much to discover.
Do you reach epiphany at all of your destinations or something hit you in Belgrade? 😂
@@Mare-qo3xj Ha it depends but in this case these reflections came about independent of my experience in Belgrade specifically
@ThisIsVladG I know that travelling to different places is one of the best life experiences, so it would be cool if something in Belgrade triggered your thoughts
Oh to be in England
Headed to London in a few weeks. So happy to have found this!
I think the fact he says London is 'primarily' English speaking says all you need to know about this cosmopolitan Capital.
UA-cam: where you'll see London, New York and Paris slated by some, loved by others.
This is an excellent video. Ive lived in London all my life and can travel into the centre of town in just 30 mins but I take this for granted 😢 You're a very deep thinker and really interesting to listen to so I liked that aspect of ypur vlog too. I just wonder if youve ever considered reading the Bible through? I have a feeling it will blow you away when you understand who God is and what He accomplished through His son Jesus Christ on your behalf.I hope you find the time one day. God bless you.
The Renaissance (at least the European one) was in the 15th and 16th centuries. The 17th century was wars of religion all over the place and what you're apparently thinking of in the 18th and 19th centuries is commonly called the Industrial Revolution, not the then long-past Renaissance. The likes of James Watt, Thomas Telford and Adam Smith didn't have a lot in common with Michelangelo or Boticelli, did they?
London's people speak over 300 languages in their homes and on the streets, but you won't hear those languages tripping around the tourist junk. Neither will you learn about much that matters, though the British Museum of Grand Larceny does have a vast collection of stolen stuff, of the proceeds of crime around the world. See that 38 bus? Why not get on it and go to the end of the route at Lea Bridge? From there you might get a 55 to Leyton and Walthamstow. You won't see any tourists, but you will have found out about London - the real London. Much more interesting. You could do that in other directions, of course, you could go to Plaistow or Peckham or Archway or Willesden. As William Blake wrote "The road of excess leads to the palace of Willesden". Well, something like that anyway, I might have got a word or two wrong.
Agree brands is good
Wow I ve never seen trains are empty in Kyoto!

Reasonably good account but for one thing- the repetitive ruminations about information, starting around the visit to the British Museum and repeated at the British Library, Camden Market etc. Awful. I gave up at the Monument.
Thoughtful. Thanks.
