Maybe it's a ground problem
I saw it too.... I went on Reddit and everybody there is saying it was a mistake. I don't believe that, because if it really was a mistake they should have acknowledged it and apologized for it. It's too bad, I love this series and this was pretty disappointing
I caught that too! Kinda creepy.
THANK YOU, I couldn't freeze on it. I didn't finish the show didn't like the idea of subliminal messages, period, good or bad. This season has been pretty dark anyways.
So, just in case people want to know what I did to help the situation. I did several things. I'll probably make a follow up to this video. I eventually returned the HumDebugger. I ended up using copper tape and shielding my guitar cavity. I also, decided to move my "Studio" to a different room. I also am using a new recording interface. Somewhere between all those things I was able to reduce that gnarly buzz significantly. And now I am back up and running with recording.
What’s that playback app you are using?
It is called Playback by Multitracks.com. in order to really benefit you need to have a subscription. But it is amazing. The other one I use is called Prime from Loopcommunty.com.
@@othnielhinckson1058 many thanks …and for the Midi Captain review. 👍
Nice. 👌
Your hum is too severe for any pedals to handle. it's not normal guitar pickup hum.
Does anybody know if this pedal help's in the effects loop of a noisy amp...?
LOl ..don't blame the pedal..that sounds like bad AC..current..do a process of elimination I've seen this at venues we played had to use different power outlets..so yeah power source or how it's distributed..if it's in the buildings power then you need an electrician..the venue that had the noisy power eventually burned down..so yeah
Thanks for the insight. I tried it at another venue. With better results, however, it still did not eliminate the hum. It transformed it into that crackling noise. Another thing I noticed is that it definitely changed the tone of my guitar. I mostly play clean. At times double OD. And it put a strange high mid frequency to my set up.
@@othnielhinckson1058 there is still something wrong if you go with the elimination process..start amp/speaker..chord..guitar..as soon as the sound shows up there is the culprit..because you changed venue you have ruled out house power..could be amp too..keep trying..let me know how you make out..there is a site psionic audio something like that he fixes amps he could help with the diagnosis.
@@Boomsterblak Just for follow up.... I decided to return the pedal. Even when I was in situations where the hum was relatively nominal, it still added a weird frequency to the pedal. I ended up going with the Boss IR200 and eliminated the possibility of the noisy amps frequency and I can now record in my studio. I have also decided to move my studio to a different room. All this really got me up and running again. I appreciate the sounds that I get from the IR200 and it beautifully mimics the tone I need.
@@othnielhinckson1058 awesome..you know that is the most important thing..getting the tone you need...Rock On brother
time for new expensive cables.....not amazon or walmart cables.....
theres no way that something this intense is from cables. something isnt grounded
Sounds like a bad ground. A cold solder joint or or broken trace i'd suspect
Thanks for the input. I checked the grounding, it's good. And I lined the cavity with copper shielding tape. Not sure if that helped.
Oh man, that is a terrible grounding issue and the pedal will do nothing to help with that. If you're within a return window I'd return it and get your money back. I hope it's not the guitar cause by all means that should be a pretty nice one, and I'd start by swapping out cables to see if that fixes the issue. If not check if there are loose connections in the control cavity. Otherwise it might be RF interference with the guitar picking up from your computer monitor, but that should only be that bad when you have the volume up and facing the monitor. Lastly if none of those help it might be a wiring issue with your house in which case your boned.
I really appreciate the input. The guitar was given to me as a gift. So there is no option for returning it. I did try to swap out cables and use other means like clean power conditioners to try to clean up the signal. It certainly seems like a major RF issue. Because I opened up the guitar and noticed that the grounding was done correctly. When I am out of my studio and in the family room I noticed that the hum is significantly less. So there may be some truth to the monitors cuz I have two monitors in my studio. It seems like there has to be an issue with my studio because when I use my strat it's the same problem.
yeah, I meant return the pedal. If it is a grounding issue with the guitar it should be something that a tech would be able diagnose and fix easily and for pretty cheap.@@othnielhinckson1058
It also could be the m-track if you are powering it from usb on your computer and causing a digital ground loop. It looks like you're using rca's as your output instead of audio over usb, have you tried powering the m-track with an external power source like a phone charger power brick or something? that could isolate the ground issue.
@@rokket2005 Thank you for the idea. I will try that out. I have a JVC receiver powering all my speakers. So, it is being powered by the usb into the computer but the output is going to the JVC receiver. I need to mention also, that I tried it with an AMP head and Cab and I got the same buzz result. I have a sense that I am dealing with some ridiculous amounts of EMI or EMF signals that are going through this guitar. When I move it around the frequency changes.
