Metal Masher Off Road Trail

Metal Masher off road trail in Moab. Jeep badge of honor trail. As easy or as hard as you wanted to make it. I would say a 5 in difficulty. Steel Bender was a little more demanding.
Elephant Hill Off Road Trail

This trail was more difficult throughout the trail than I was expecting. It’s slow going until you get to over the SOB hill. Solid 5 in difficulty

Breaking My Spider Gears on Spring Creek

In September I broke my spider gears in the rock garden on Spring Creek, a trail near Georgetown, Colorado. This trail was pretty brutal, harder than than the 5 rating that Trails Offroad gave it (in my opinion).
Jeep Walkaround | Do You Really Need Lockers?
Переглядів 61911 місяців тому
My Jeep Wrangler 2013 Sport 4 door walkaround. Want to make this video to document the mods I currently have before I make some changes this winter. Also talk about.... Do you really need lockers? I've had no lockers for the past four years and have done the majority of the difficult trails in Colorado with no major issues. Brands used: Clayton offroad for the lift kit and control arms, Fox sho...

Roam Rugged Case and Mounts 1 Year Review | 83L or 95L?
Переглядів 3,2 тис.Рік тому
I've had the Roam Adventure CO. Rugged Case and Rugged Mounts (83 liter size) for a year now. Overall, I like them. I just wish they were a little taller without having to go all the way to 95 liters. It's difficult to fit most items into the 83 liter but I've made it work. If you're going to be putting items that are thicker than a ski boot into these boxes, I would go with the 95 liter.
Why is Your Jeep Wrangler JK Overheating?
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Рік тому
This only applies to cases in which the temperature gauge doesn't go back to center... If your temperature stays above center you might have a part needing to be replaced.
How to Drill Bump Stop Holes Without Removing Your Springs
Переглядів 55Рік тому
I was very relieved when I found a way to drill bump stop holes without having to remove springs... Such a pain removing them, especially a week after you installed your lift. This is in my 2013 Jeep Wrangler and the springs I had in there were from the 2.5 inch Clayton Offroad lift kit.

That's clever 👍
Not much on these guys . Found out about them from nomad nation he liked their packing cubes. Dopp kit looks cool but lil big….
My 2017 jk does it too but it doesn’t really concern me because it comes back down. I live in Texas and it also only does it in the summer.
I had a bad radiator on mine, had it replaced and is all good now. Still! I still get temperatures from 218 up to 238 sometimes, depending on high grade hills or mountains. Also depends on the weather, I live in Tucson Arizona and it gets pretty steamy here! And is totally normal for my temperature to change depending on driving conditions. But it never has overheated though! I asked the technician at the dealer, and he said it’s totally normal to get those kinds of temperatures reading, or your gauge to move slightly a hair past the half mark. He also said the Pentastar engines runs hotter than other engines.
Too cool!
That was an awesome day
That was my exact question was would it fit a loaded backpack! Thank you!
I'm looking at the 83L as a kitchen box. Camping stove, cast iron skillets, jetboil, and then get the accessory lid organizer (for plates, bowls, utensils, spices, etc.). It seems like 5.5inches of height is enough. What do you think?
The accessory lid organizer with significantly reduce your space. The skillets, plates bowls will fit. The camping stove probably wouldn’t fit. My Jetboil genesis stove wasn’t even close to fitting. I no longer have the boxes so I can’t measure again!
@@DirtPlease I’ve got one of those basic rectangular (and relatively low profile - like 4”-5”) dual burner stoves. I hope I can get it to work. What boxes are you running now?
@@joshlandis3414 it’ll definitely be a close fit! My guess is with the accessory organizer it wouldn’t fit. 95L will definitely fit. No boxes for now, I have a rooftop tent on the way and I’ve been making do with the drawer set up I have. Let us know if it fits or not if you do get the 83!
@@DirtPlease So I just received the box, and I got everything to fit! Low profile items are necessary for sure. Got my camping stove, cast iron pot/skillet, non-stick skillet, 2 propane tanks (mini Coleman kind), 2 jetboil propane tanks, cutting board, cooking utensils, eating utensils, knives, and bowls and plates. I'm pretty impressed! Gonna get another for camp chairs, awning, tent poles, and other misc camping gear.
@@joshlandis3414 nice!! Thanks for remembering to respond back. I’m impressed the stove fit! It’s a great box if you have many short items like you mentioned. Water won’t get in
Nice video mate! helped me decide what to buy!
15:20 I’m not sure why I told him to straighten it… I wish I was spotting from the angle of the camera man because he clearly could’ve crawled onto that rock and not have fallen into the crack where he then bottomed out
thanks for running the tool roll through its paces.
Zero. That’s how many people care. Zero….
Thanks for caring enough to comment lol
@@DirtPlease I don’t. Anytime you thought about posting another stupid video… now you can understand what the majority of people think about you. Zeroooooo
Why fans run full spoed without shutting of even if it goes to mid point on the gauge
The fan kicks on by exact temperature. The needle gauge isn’t exact, just a range. If you plug into the OBD port you can see your exact temp. It will change up or down and the needle won’t be moving at the same rate
What are you able to fit in the 95L ? I'm looking at the 95L, but concerned even the 95L may be too small.
Everything I wanted to fit was always just barely too big for the 83. The 95 should fit some of the larger items such as multiple ski boots, helmets, tool bags.
Nice build. Did you measure your down travel on the front axle ? So u don’t destroy the apex autolynx…
I have not measured. Before I bought them their sales team recommended I buy their longer version. Their smaller size they said is for no lift/very small lift. I’m happy I did that because I’m going taller now anyways… thanks for the comment
You CAN get by without them, but the lockers make trails "easy" mode. By extension, this helps reduce trail erosion, a win for the community at large, and wear and tear on your vehicle. A set, or even one locker, would have done more for your off-road capability than the sum of your current mods. I've ran some of the trails you mention in a mostly stock XJ on 29s with a front locker, for instance. No winch needed. Line choice is a huge deal even with lockers.
Totally agree which is why I’m about to install an ARB air locker in the rear. My friend driving a rubicon 4 door on 33s took a lot of the same lines as me with lockers on. Doubt I would have made it without winching if I was on 33s no lift. Thanks for the comment
All that money and effort to then not have a use for them 😅 I put my bedding in there, sleep in my vehicle. Works perfectly!
Great vid man thanks.
Just send it bud!
Same exact issue
Same here, my 2013 has always done it. Annoying. I just put a new radiator and thermostat housing in it. Still does it. It’s a Motorad housing. Maybe it’s bad out of the box?
I haven’t met someone with an earlier model 3.6L JK that it doesn’t happen to. I don’t think there’s anything necessarily wrong with it, just gotta go slower up hills I guess!
Promo*SM ❤️
Too late, I guess. 95°F uphill on highway. 2010, 3.8L JL 4 door . Then lost full power, began hearing a clunk. I don't think the fan was coming on. Normally it will run after I shut her off and keep cooling. Fan didn't stay on- so I don't know if it was even working. Was hot as H. I am almost sure I am getting a rod knock. Sunnuva B.
Bad thermostat… temp gage shouldn’t go past the 1/2 mark
Replaced thermostat. Temp sender. Water pump. Radiator still having issues. Bled the system still having issues
First, stop relying on the nonlinear gauge. It stays centered from 180 to 230. Use your digital readout, at least for 2015 and later JK. I live in Evergreen and drive I70 almost daily. Same issues. It will quickly rise to 245 on highway no matter what. New Ron Davis radiator, new RIP 180 high flow thermostat. New plugs. New coils. High press cap. Tried it all, nothing works. It is not designed to function at this altitude under sustained load. No factor of safety in cooling. Works st sea level. Works all day in 100 degree heat on flat terrain. Can’t drive up I70. Bad design. PERIOD.

Great feedback on the 83, I was torn between the two sizes but this helped a lot!
Glad it helped!
Yeah dude in the 4xe needs to practice some more. Good spotting
I believe having the electric motor makes it a little jumpier. He can barely be on the gas and it’ll jump as if he floored it for a split second. I think there’s a way to turn that off, but it’s not my Jeep so I’m not positive
dose over 200f
Not b a a a a a a a a a d! 🐐
It was pretty cool!!
I figured the 83 was meant for a rifle with two foam inserts
I haven’t seen Roam advertise it as a rifle box, but yes, it’d be perfect for that
I really liked this video, I have never seen these before! I am really impressed with them! Does the Pangolin one fit inside of the Rig A Maroll? Also how many inches tall is the Rig a Maroll?
The Pangolin would definitely fit inside the bag. And for height I can get back to you on that, I’m away for the next few days
@@DirtPlease ok, great, thank you!
It’s 19.5 inches tall
@@DirtPlease Cool, thank you!
I think the first one would be good for wading boots, frog gig, chair, one of those things that holds your pole, or like a power bank and solar panels, some type of camp stove, etc... bigger tent system, cold weather gear. For car, jumper cables, tire inflator, battery charger etc...
Definitely, it’s a huge bag and could probably fit every single thing you named at the same time! It’s seems very durable too so I wouldn’t worry about making it too heavy or stretching it either
@1:24 I mention "I don't have a strong use case for either of them." I am referring to both of my 83L boxes. I am not referring to the 95L.
The Fiat Chrysler quality is starting to show....
Yeah just waiting for the other locks to go… luckily it wasn’t too difficult to replace
@@DirtPlease definitely not hard to work on I've done hundreds of them that watch as the trickle-down factor happens and every one of those fiat-chrysler chinese-made parts will fail..... It's sad what Chrysler and Fiat have done.... Same goes for Nissan....
So apparently you’ve never seen a gun fire in real life then. Lame.
lol well it sure sounds like one when the door auto locks after you start driving and you’re not expecting to hear this loud clicking. Scared the crap out of us in the Jeep when it first started haha

Lol
Was this actually filmed In February? What is the altitude? Pretty country! 😎✌🏻
Ha I wish! This was in July. Most trails like this are not open during the winter

Just a bit of help...dry-wall screws work very well with plywood, just the regular black ones. They hold tight, screw-in well, and won't split the ply; use some glue and they will hold. Nice job!
That’s good to know… I put a torx screw that was way too long which split the wood. On the other side, I used a screw half the length which did not split it. I’ll keep the dry wall screws in mind for the next time. Thanks for the comment
