Had to have been subsonic ammo. Aside from magnum caliber wheel guns, the 5.7 is likely the loudest hand gun you can buy.

I love every lever gun you have here, but I spent the majority of my life in Alaska and proudly what lever my father bought around 1968 is my Winchester model 71 converted to the .450 alaskan, i can find a video here on you tube of anyone shooting or talking about this amazing rifle and round, my 71 was converted in coopers bay Alaska by Harold Johnson, all the lever guns you are shooting are beautiful and plenty of rifle for alaska, but there is something magical about my Winchester 71, i do own a Winchester 71 deluxe in .348 as well, if ya ever get the opportunity to do a video on the .450 please do, and yes the .450 alaskan and .50 alaskan are absolutely thumpers, i buy amm from reeds ammo and research and have had absolutely no issues with thier loads and i do reload as well thank you for your video

At 1:48 you say the 325 grain bullet is coming out of the muzzle at three thousand feet per second...I think you need to dub over this or post a correction here. This bullet might achieve 2,000 fps at most. Otherwise a neat video and I also vote for less or quieter music

I don't have confirmation, but I'm positive he was. 5.7 is very tough to suppress with how thin and small the round is, not to mention just how fast the supersonic rounds are. All other vids I see that shoot supersonic through suppressors are still very loud and aren't hearing safe

I have a Marlin 1895 in 45-70 with a 26 inch barrel and 9 round tube. It's my favorite gun when it comes to shooting feral pigs. Especially with 430 grain hardcast Buffalo bore ammo. Not a single hog has managed to run after being hit by one of those. They all dropped where they stood.

50 Alaskan is undervalued too much. It is an ammo that should be a priority for the major players to produce. Also, the 450 Marlin is superior to the 45-70 in that the rim is belted, so it can be used in bolt action, etc. Therefore, it is superior to the 45-70 in terms of warhead convenience. Therefore, the convenience of the warhead is superior to that of the 45-70, so in a sense, it is a superior warhead, but if it had been introduced half a century earlier, it would have been dominant...

50 Alaskan is a 50-90 best I remember. Turnbull 50-110 even more power like mentioned earlier. Or get a Shiloh Sharps 50-140!! Dwarfs a 45/70.

Bought a Henry in 45-70. Only problem I have now is the gun is so pretty. I find myself babying it. I guess I’ll stick to abusing my tacticool rifles and save the Henry for special occasions.

You really need to handload the 500 S&W to make a fair comparison. Nobody factory loads the 500 S&W to anywhere near it's full potential because it would be to difficult to extract several spent cases at once fro a double action revolver. Loaded to it's potential it matches the 50-120 from the model 89.

The 2016 Remington made Marlin 1895 CB 45-70 Is one of the finest Marlin lever guns you can own!! 18.5 inch octagonal barrel, dark American Walnut forearm and butt stocks, semi buckhorn rear and gold bead front sights, this Marlin lever gun cannot be matched by any other in all the categories that matter. This model made by Remington is extremely accurate, the same accuracy as my Remington 1968 BDL 30-06 700. Remington as far as I am concerned is the best of the best when it comes to any rifle build!! Shooting is believing, I believe!!

  • @kevinrollman3101

I believe the 45-70 is superior to the .450 Marlin chambering. Shoot one of the HSM RNFP 430 grain 45-70 rounds and you will know what I mean. Or try one of the Grizzly 460 grain rounds of 45-70.

I always liked the .45-70 in a strong single shot like a ruger no1 or H&R handi rifle. They can take some seriously hopped up loads that will get a 300gr barnes bullet out of the muzzle at around 2500fps

When he fires the 50 and then pulls on the lever to extract the round there should be a cash register sound given the expense involved in shooting those rounds. 😂😂
