This is interesting but very weak presentation. I can’t say if he was the best drummer because there are so many but this man was an icon in the drumming community and will be remembered as one of the greats of all time.

custom drum sets do not sound or play any better than non custom drum sets except subjectively and usually from sunk cost fallacy. they often do not even look any better. i have gotten more compliments on my copper sparkle wrapped gretsch catalina than any custom kit of any drummer i know. if anything, many drummers dont like the zany, showy choices drummers who can afford these kits make. few professional drummers can afford this stuff either. for these reasons, i dont think pearl masterworks is cool at all, but i think it’s very cool of you to teach your granddaughter to play drums and your breakbeat kit will hold value much better than that overpriced art piece you would bang with sticks

The story was about him sweating towards the end was that he was having a heart attack and as he went off stage and got back to a dressing room they called an ambulance and took him to the hospital to confirm he was having a heart attack while playing and that was why he was having trouble keeping his eyes opened the last little bit as well as all the sweat. P.s. U are a drumming grandpa to me as I have claimed u into my adopted family I have and claimed over the years.

I have a couple of C3000b mics as overheads as well. I was surprised at how well they work. Good “airy” sound that takes eq nicely. At least to my personal taste.
