I don't like the back pad that it came with. Other than that it's nice. Wish I could rotate the arm rests as well.
Yeah, the lumbar cushion is not my favourite either, mostly because it doesn't come with a strap. Overall though, it's been a nice chair!

Make more content like this. It's a very overlooked topic. It will skyrocket in views and subs by continuing great content like this. Great job man
I've had a bad mindset ever since I was young because I always looked at things sort of like "no matter how hard I work, I will always come up short, even if it isn't my fault." This led to many of my tournament experiences feeling frustrating, because whether I knew it or not at the time, I was living in a mindset that was inherently disrespectful to both myself and my opponent, while also being distinctly anti-growth. I started doing daily positivity, where I just highlight silver linings or little things that went right for me or that I wanted to try to appreciate more. This has helped a TON in the couple months I've been doing it. For the first time ever I find myself staring down the barrel of a loss and thinking "I can bring this back" or encountering a difficulty and thinking "there's always counterplay, I just need to find it." I guess the point I'm getting at is that, for me, a good mentality has to start with a worldview that even if things feel stacked against you, there ARE things that can go well for you and there are answers that you can find to help you grow. It's been invaluable for my competitive progress, the way I treat others in the scene, and also just the attitude I bring towards general life. I'm so far from perfect, but what you said really resonated with me: you CAN change your mentality, if you focus on it and put in the work to change your thinking. Great video. -Min-Max
Mentality is extremely difficult to have control over, but it definitely starts with having to be willing to try changing your outlook on things. It's impressive how much we limit ourselves just by taking some things for granted, and it's very liberating when you're able to establish a new outlook on improvement and competition. I'm glad to hear that you've been making progress, and best of luck with that journey!
Hey y'all, Sco- uh Silver here
Mental definitely is often overlooked. As much as I've tried practicing on the daily, the environment before and during does affect how you play. Great video :)

This video is really helpful! Great work as always goat 💯
The #1, The Coach, The Goat! Take what this man says to heart he knows what hes on about!
First, shout out to the cod clips, speaks to my heart lol! Second, this is a great topic/series idea! The mental side of competition often gets overlooked but can have such a huge impact on growth and performance. Imagine for a moment you're say....a 43 year old dad of 4 who is REALLY BAD at Smash, what would you say are some examples of tangible goals for people to have? I feel like people would probably be tempted to say something like "I want to get my win rate to x%!" but feel like that's not particularly useful(CoD players do the same thing with KD but it's only really a small piece of the whole story). Curious what goals you might consider valuable on this side of the learning curve :)
Thanks for watching! Sorry for the incoming long response lol With goalsetting, you can have a goal of just about anything, though I would say that having a tangible goal will help. It doesn't really matter whether it's achieved soon or achieved at all; it just needs to be able to serve as a motivator to improve and put in effort. Setting something that you'd consider "doable" but is a little bit out of reach currently will bring you further along your journey, and when you get near it or when you reach it, you can shift the goalposts again. This can be done over and over, like taking steps. I'll highlight some examples, though for goals involving other players (such as peer/peer or brackets), you have to bear in mind that others are trying to improve as well, so just because things stay the same or get worse does not mean you aren't improving. Feeling your own improvement is extremely important. Peer-based goals - I want to be able to beat players like X - I want to take X games/sets in a round robin - I want to feel I can keep up with X (not necessarily winning, but feeling that the match is not just a wash) Individual goals - I want to land X in a real match - I want to be consistent at X input (maybe how many times can I do this in a row? How high could my success rate be?) Regardless of the specific goal itself, the idea is to consider the improvements that you think will get you further along; you can make a goal out of those ideas. It's also worth considering why you play, because competition for some does not necessarily equal "being the best player ever". Sometimes, we do it for other reasons, like spending time with friends, time sink, distraction from stress, feeling like we've mastered a certain game, etc. They're all valid reasons for playing, and so the reason you play has a level of influence on your motivation to strive for more. We would hope that these goals motivate us to achieve more in the games, and we also hope that achieving our goals will bring us more satisfaction. Hopefully this gives some ideas!
I think that goals with competition can broadly be split into two types. One is from the results of performance (ex. first time winning a set in bracket, starting to go consistently 2-2 in bracket, getting PR'd in a region, beating a player that you consider to be strong relative to yourself, etc.) and the other is based on your gameplay itself (ex. being able to execute your combos/tech more consistently, understanding your gameplans vs specific matchups better, learning how to ledgetrap, edgeguard, or catch landings better, getting a better feel for conditioning and mindgames happening in a match, etc.). I think that the former is a fine set of goals to have and achieving them can feel very rewarding, but they aren't nearly as actionable as the latter. I think a good starting point goal for a beginner is understanding and executing your movement options. Any decision that you end up making won't really matter if you aren't able to follow that decision with your hands. Eventually with practice, you should be able to move your character without having to consciously think about the inputs being done on your controller, at which point your brain is freed up to think about whatever you need to do in a match. Spending around 10-20 minutes a day in training room doing routines (like doing some from IzAw's art of training video) consistently can go a long way. Here's a progression of goals that I've had for getting consistent at neutral B wavebounce: learning the input -> practicing it until I've increased consistency -> getting it 10 times in a row -> getting it 10 times in a row while not looking at the screen (practice being able to do it while looking at the opponent's character) -> getting it 10 times in a row while watching a UA-cam video (practice being able to do it without paying much attention) -> being able to freestyle and do it in conjunction with other techniques that I can do fluidly -> doing it in friendlies -> doing it in bracket. The specific goals should be adjusted to whatever you are trying to improve on but having multiple goals, each just beyond the scope of the last, has helped me a lot. Quantitative goals can help in some parts of the game (ex. I want to be able to wavebounce 10 times in a row), but qualitative goals also have their place. A lot of this game can't really be measured with numbers so you need to know how to observe your improvements. For example, ledgetrapping is pretty dynamic and there isn't really a quantitative goal that you can have to measure this. If your goal is "I want to improve at ledgetrapping," watching your own replays and seeing how your mistakes with ledgetrapping changes over time would be a good way to track that goal. Even something like "I want to improve at ledgetrapping," would likely be broken down into smaller goals like "I want to be able to position my character better while ledgetrapping," "I want to consistently ledgetrump to punish delayed getup options," or "I want to observe the opponent's ledge habits more closely."
@@silver_cck That makes a lot of sense, thanks for the response and the examples! Time to set some goals now 🤔
@@SK-df1iw thanks for the response! you gave me some really good examples to consider as well, I appreciate it!
Goat… inspirational…
Yea smash isn’t really a fighting game it’s more like a pushing game basically making your opponent walk the plank
pokifart tag is crazy
I define it as keeping them in the corner. You can miss your punish but if you focus on the goal at hand they are likely to be put in a bad spot again
Ledgetrapping for bums, edge guard and sd 70% of the time
Your shit is so good
Thanks for watching!
Mfs be like "Autopiloting is bad" No, YOUR autopilot is bad
Kind of insane to be autopiloting while reviewing videos of your matches AFTER YOU PLAY THEM and expecting to learn something.
5:54 Ledgedrop Flipjump into the opponent falling out of up smash is indeed a true combo for ZSS
I do have a question. How do I punish Kazuya’s neutral get up to his down B, Gates of Hell? Because, the move armours my character’s damage. And, the risk reward is so bad for me. I play Isabelle. But, general character advice is best.
dash away, full hop, or (with good timing) spotdodge. if the character you're playing can recover from the bottom blast zone, and you have enough of a percent lead, then take the grab and hold offstage. that way kazuya dies and you still live.
typically with isabelle, you want to plant lloyd next to ledge and stand back and react to the opponents getup option. if they get hit by lloyd, great! maybe you can get a followup, or at the very least they're still in disadvantage. if they dont, you should be in a position to react and punish whatever they did. if you're not playing isabelle (or maybe you dont have time to set up lloyd), and the opposing kaz really likes neutral getup down b, just stand outside of range. if they whiff the down b, you can get a massive punish with either a smash attack or a combo starter. if you notice that they dont do it when you're standing in a position to punish it, you can try to bait it out. spend a little bit of time in range, and then when you think they're gonna go for it, dash away (or jump) and punish.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching and thanks for a great question! The solution I had in mind is similar to what Liam listed, where you plant Lloid and stand back to react. If you have the time to set a Lloid up, it's incredibly valuable in helping you cover Kazuya's available options. Placing it at ledge as they mentioned would work very well. At the end of the day, understanding where Gates of Hell or the Down B command grab reach are very important. The corner is already a pretty crummy spot for Kazuya to be dealing with Isabelle's kit, so it'll be more in your interest to hold stage positioning and find a way you can repeatedly keep them out; a trap on the ground will only make crossing that distance harder. Play around with where you can position Lloid and make use of more of your ranged spacing tools as they'll be much harder for Kazuya to break the zone against. Patience will help a lot, and practice makes perfect. Hopefully that helps!
thank you. All of these do help. Knowing that the ledge trap phase continues even when they get off ledge to corner helps a lot.
Good vid 🫡 5:12
7:52 - so real. It's hard to trust myself to make decisions in this game, and I end up not really playing the game lol
I play game and watch and press b, I don't know why y'all are making it so complicated 🤷♀
Its fun to look at how simple things can be made into something more where we can improve in this new space Just like basketball
A very good example pf coverage is kind dedede, which is honestly one pf tue best ledge trappers in the game. He combines coverage with reaction to land his trap and get really early kills
Yep! He's a really great example. Robin, Belmonts, R.O.B., etc., all have lots of great coverage options too. Coverage is a great way to ledge trap if you can set up the right tools!
very good content !! one thing that i struggle is ledge hang cause my charac don't have a fast option like cloud's dash attack to punish
Thanks for watching! Punishing ledge hang when your character doesn't have a great way to challenge it is definitely tough for sure. The default capability for all chars is ledge trump, but it is pretty committal and lots of people will see it coming if you overuse it. Still though, what tends to matter is the "threat" of being hit on ledge more than having a substantial followup. If people "think" you're going to be able to hit them, you can fake a poke attempt but back off to react to their ledge option attempt. Otherwise, hopefully you play a character that has methods of covering some of the ledge options to make your life easier. The ledge option timing is not everything, but keeping it in check makes your life a lot easier.
Who do you play?
@@shortesnameofalltime zss
looking at it beyond just covering the ledge options perfectly is definitely something people don't talk about, really helpful idea also helpful for me because I tend to hyperfocus on getting reactive punishes but not thinking about the risk reward on messing it up
Really loved the video! The only thing that (at least I felt) was missing was guidance on covering jump getup! Do you find yourself (with pit, for example) doing full ac nair to catch jumps? Or do you opt to stay on the ground/within your 3 main positions and shark the landings on opponents who choose jump getup?
Agreed. ^
@@PitProfessor-ow4vy Thanks for watching! With Pit, I tend to do either an autocancel nair or a bair placed on the jump arc to catch instant jumps. However, if I'm not comfortable, I'll tend to back up and just make sure to maintain the corner trap. Heavier callout attempts could put me at risk of throwing myself out of position, and so I'd rather keep the corner trap going. Hope that answers your question!
I think it did! What you’re describing makes sense 👍
You can either preemptively cover jump with a relatively large or lingering move, run under them to go for a juggle, or retreat to catch their landings. What is best to do is dependent on your positioning, your character, and your opponent's character. Like if you are standing further from ledge when they pick their ledge option, most characters cannot really preemptively cover jump (there are some notable exceptions). Likewise if you are standing close to the ledge it's going to be harder to retreat to center stage and catch their landings because you have less time to react to any options they pick such as airdodges, movement options, and landing aerials. As for going for a juggle with up airs, you wouldn't want to go for a juggle against characters like cloud, aegis, chrom, or fox because it's much more beneficial to hit them offstage and go for an edgeguard. You would want to go for a juggle vs someone like Byleth or Zelda because you get more off of it.
very good
Keep making these videos!! They’re helping me become a better player!
