In Factor Analysis all variables are Quantitative

MANOVA is used to model (two or more dependent variables that are continuous) with (one or more categorical Independent variables).

factor analysis is used to understand the patterns of (relationships among many dependent variables) while simultaneously discovering the nature of the independent variables that affect them.

discriminant analysis has continuous independent variables and a categorical dependent variable

Dependent variable: sleeping hours with/without caffeine Independent variable: student weight

Interpretation: Variable:student's weight-->quantitative Sample space(sample size) is 22 students Average of students weight is about 166.8 pounds 50%of the students have weight less than 175 pounds. And 50% have weight greater than 175 pounds Highest occurring weight is 135 On average the speed from the mean is between 166-35 and 166+35 25%of student weight is below 135 pound and 75% of student weight is above 135 pound

To apply Parametric Test you need to have the Parametric Assumption: 1-observation must be independent 2-normally distributed . If the sample size GREATER THAN 30 we assume normality. If the sample size LESS THAN 30 we need to do normality test 3-same variances ---------------- Non Paramateric Test doesn't rely on Parametric Assumption(normality,equal variance,and independence) The Non Parametric Test like Mann-whitney and wilcoxon test doesn't rely on the normality distribution. *In Non Parametric Test we don't care about the Mean if we have Mean Error/problem of skewness/or we have outliers. -->So I use Median. -small sample size -ordinal/ranked data or outlier that you can't remove ----- Reasons to use Parametric Test -when we have small sample size(with normality) -skewed distribution -sample size greater than 30 ------- Paramateric Test more powerful than Non parametric test

We use correlation analysis when we have 2 Quantitative Variables

Quantitative variable --> use Histogram Qualitative variable-->Bar Graph and pie chart

The Shapiro-Wilk test is more appropriate method for small sample sizes (<50 samples) although it can also be handling on larger sample size while Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is used for n ≥50. For both of the above tests, null hypothesis states that data are taken from normal distributed population.
