A completely illogical argument. You erroneously assume that there is a direct causation between a display of breasts in a newspaper that individuals choose to purchase, and street harassment. Obviously this cannot be empirically affirmed, and such is indicated, as you have not provided any empirical evidence to support the assumption. Your statements are completely contradictory. You argue for freedom, yet you support censorship. Women have freedom to do whatever they please, within the law, with their bodies. If they want to be models, that is their choice. No one is forcing them. Likewise a private company that produces a newspaper can publish whatever the hell they want in it, within the law. They operate in a free market and individuals make a concious choice to purchase their items, and have the freedom to do so. I could go on further schooling UK's MP's on basic economic principals of freedom, and scientific methods of evidence and deduction, but I really cannot be bothered wasting more time than I need educating childish people who hold emotional judgements on complex things, and simply want to control and censor the world to their fitting. Extremely disturbing that an individual with a blatant disregard for the principals of logic and empirical evidence has managed to become a Member of parliament in the first place.

They are a private company that can do what they want within the law. Its no ones business to tell them how to run their newspaper. If you don't like it, DONT BUY IT. grow up please.

The Sun is not a pro-women paper regardless of whether they have Page 3 or not. They call women who have had men charged with rape but not got guilty verdicts false accusers which both puts them in danger & puts other women off coming forward, they put a photograph of rape victim Jill Saward on the front of their newspaper without her permission, they publish photographs of topless women who think they are on secluded beaches & cannot be seen, they stick camera's up women's skirts as they are getting out of cars. So why just target them for Page 3 or call them out for Page 3 while praising them for their supposedly pro-women campaigns?

Page 3 is porn and there is no place for porn in a mainstream newspaper. It should be confined to top shelf sealed adult magazines. Because it is in a mainstream newspaper like the Sun it is everywhere and everyone is exposed to it making the "if you don't like it, don't buy it argument useless". Page 3 encourages men to view women as sex objects and can encourage crimes like sexual assault.

I think the gal on the right would make a good page 3 girl.

I completely support this campaign however, I need to get this off my chest… I don't think that many men are interested in seeing women's breasts in the newspaper. Men don't get the paper for that reason and women need to help themselves by not posing for the newspaper. Men are being blamed because the women are "being exploited for the sexual gratification of men" but who's taking their clothes off? Women need to stop being so cheap and aim for a level of decency! We don't want to see your breasts in the paper so stop posing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The page 3 isn't even the biggest issue with the Sun. The Sun is not a reliable newspaper at all...But that's just my opinion :L

Why bother talking to Dominic Mohan? Many of the girls on Page 3 can be found by Google searches and have Facebook and Twitter accounts. Why doesn't Lucy try to contact them and defend for themselves why they do Page3?

I recall well the time Samantha Fox was immensely popular. In fact I do recall many Page 3 girls, Linda Lusardi, Maria Whittaker, Jo Guest, Katie Price, Melinda Messenger and Keeley Hazell being very popular as Page 3 girls and go on to become popular media personalities. I find it interesting that Clare Short tried to ban Page 3 at the time Samantha Fox was at the height of her popularity. Of course, just because something is popular is not a defense to some...

They used to have a male version called 'Page 7 fella's' back in the 1990's but women weren't interested so it never took off. The men were male strippers and they went round doing Theatre shows for the women too. Funny how you only see male stripper theatre shows like dreamboys and chippendales yet the women never complain about them being sexist when men don't have the same for them!! lol In fact there are more male strippers than female strippers now.

I say keep it, but have a male equivalent. the sun's hardly the news anyway.

My problem with The Sun is the lies and sensationalistic stories they print to advance Mr Murdoch's political agenda. 45% of The Suns reader's are female, why don't you start a campaign to get these readers to stop buying it? If you hit them in the pocket then they will have to change. If Clare Short failed with 2 campaigns when she was an MP to stop this (1 when she was in the party in power), why do you think you will succeed trying the same thing?

Protest away. I never said you weren't allowed to have an opinion. I just think the following that I seen somewhere applies:- "Don't like gay marriage? Don't get one. Don't like abortions? I once had a violent boyfriend who during an argument told me to shut up and get my tits out. He was being serious. After we split up, I heard he had page three pictures stuck all over his bedroom wall.

There are so many arguments against page 3, and not one to justify it. The Sun can attempt to defend it, but there is nothing they can say that proves its a good thing.

This is a silly comment. What you're suggesting is people cover their eyes and stick fingers in their ears to a much bigger problem. The issue here is that having this in a daily newspaper in 2012 is unnecessary and teaches boys from an early age that it's ok to see women as that and that alone when men don't get the same treatment. And it teaches girls from a young age that they will be judged by their appearance primarily before anything.

I don't care for the opinions of the idiots who read the Sun and if you think it's degrading but still read it then shame on you. "Paij Free" is a good indicator of the sort of person that they're appealing to and the whole thing should be closed down. If women want to whore themselves out then they should be allowed to - on the other hand if removing P3 will make people go elsewhere and hurt Sun sales then I'm all for it. If it will hurt Sun sales then I'm all for the banning of page 3.

Its not men talking on the issue, its men from one side of the debate talking on the issue. If you know the Sun has page 3 models and you still buy it I don't see the issue, with magazines like "nuts" around it seems like a sort of red herring.
