Drain Down the Static Caravan for Winter
Every winter its the same, we have to drain down the water system to ensure that the pipes, shower and boiler survive the winter.
This year I have a new trick to getting the water out of the system.

Hi all hope you're all keeping safe and well. I moved into the van on New Years Eve when it was -3 outside and have been living in the van now 7 days in very wintery conditions. Some days barely reaching above 0. This is a quick update video just to let you know that i'm still alive.

Here we are looking at how to build a campervan shower from scratch. Using a 15 Litre container and using the gas ring to heat it to 40 deg that should be wonderful. Come an join me on the journey to getting a working shower in a Vauxhall Vivaro (or at least just outside)
Diesel heater in a Static Caravan

In this video. I install an 8kW chinese diesel heater into a Static caravan. This video shows the process of the installation plus some of the logic behind the decisions that I took while installing it. This is also considered to be a temporary installation as my future intention is to install a full LPG boiler along with a full central heating system.

Hi only just watched this because I’m considering fitting one in my static. Haven’t watched till the end but I’m wondering if you’ve had any problem with the diesel freezing in the line or the pump with it being outside under the van.
Hi David We've had no issues at all with Diesel freezing. We have had a couple of problems with the pump but I've put that down to moisture in the diesel rusting the inner components. As you may be aware, Diesel is very hydroscopic, so I'm looking for a way to limit the air exposure while the Diesel is standing.
Ours was outside a year no issues at all pump secured on wall. Just bought a gas box houseing and put everything neet into the box i run two to keep the cottage toasty costs me 20p for 12 hrs on kerosene
@@paulball1767 that is not possible we have 1x2kw and 2x5kw diesel heaters 12pence per hour on diesel 6 pence per hour on kerrosene on the lowest setting please explain cheers geoff

No. Not yet, there's only one that needs is and it has rounded corners at the bottom. That one could be a little more troublesome lol. Thank you for your comments.

I do the same using a gas BBQ to heat the water / take the edge off my daughters swimming pool, best temp I had coming out was 58 degrees C. 👍 you can get a small water heater heater add on for the Chinese water heater.
I like your style, nice one. I have come across the Bobil conversion for the chinese water heater. have a look at david mcluckie on youtube. He's also worked with a chinese heater that does water as well as air. I have brought a couple of heat exchangers but not got round to them yet. Keep safe.
