    92 dream team kicking the shit outta any all star team in todays era period

    • @lesismoresports
      @lesismoresports День тому

      @utilize3eyes according to what? Your opinion? I respect your opinion, but I disagree. Basketball wasn't as globalized in 1992 as it went on to be down the road. Dream team was great, but they didn't play the competition other Olympic teams went on to play. Dream Team had a lot to do with that and will always be respected for growing the game globally. But as far as do I think they're the best team ever, no because of the competition they played.

    • @utilize3eyes
      @utilize3eyes День тому

      @@lesismoresports according to the play we see today and how players have all these soft rules and that those rules make them soft, no allstar team could compete with that 92 team. Now let’s just say the the 90s players played in this era and had to play with these soft rules, they could tone down the physical play to still put up numbers but can you say these players today could amp up their physical play and play in the 90s? No, why? Because they would be scared. You can make a physical person tone down their play but you can’t take a scared player to up his physicality and still get numbers

    • @lesismoresports
      @lesismoresports День тому

      @utilize3eyes the physicality gap between the generations has been something that is overblown by narratives. The 70s, 80s and 90s were more lenient on hard fouls and were less likely to eject players for them than they are now due to player safety rules, but the typical play by play difference is not what it's made out to be. "Hand checking" is a popular narrative that people believe made defense tougher back in the day, but the lowest scoring era in NBA history (2000s) was the era where Hand checking was taken away, but zone defense is added. That's what doesn't get talked about enough. Even if what your saying was true about physicality, the 70s-90s players never had to worry about zone or helpside defense. In those eras the rule was to either commit to a double, or guard a player 1v1. A player in those days once they got past their first defender, they had easier lanes to the rim. Now, due to different sets and new defensive alignment rules, it's not as easy. Hence why 3 pt shooting is more emphasized in this era. But don't take my word for it. Michael Jordan himself said his career would've went much differently if he had to go against helpside and zone defense in his career. And I also disagree that the 90s players would adapt better to those differences. A lot of them didn't play actual defense. They just hacked a player and didn't have to worry as much about being ejected. But their lateral side to side defensive technique in the 90s wasn't what it's made out to be. I'm imagining Charles Barkley or Karl Malone having to step out to the 3 pt line and guard KD. Or heaven forbid they get Steph Curry on a pick and roll switch and have to guard him from 3. They're cooked. Doesn't matter what era or physicality they play in. They can't stay with them on the perimeter.

    • @utilize3eyes
      @utilize3eyes День тому

      @@lesismoresports no they had zone and help side D in the 80s and 90s they just didn’t rely on kicking it out to the 3 point line they actually had to use One on one moves to get by the defender which is harder if Jordan said his career would be different it means he would have a ton of assist in todays game or he would be open alot due to it being kicked out to him coming off a screen and he would score easily. There was more bigs back then that had iso moves and way more dunks the 3 point line was only a second option. The players hacked yes but todays game rules are made to add pace and floor spreading which makes it way easier for players to score. Imagine Jordan with more space and able to cut anywhere in todays game. The players today wouldn’t survive without all these rules making the game easy for them. Which is crazy because if it was harder to score back then how did they average more points a season than they do today. Everyone is a 3 point shooter today but none have a higher career 3 point average than Steve Kerr.

    I think this is the worst video ever made, 2001 Miami Hurricanes broke the NCAA record for most drafted players in the first round in one season also on just talent alone they would destroy all those teams mentioned even 95 Nebraska.

    • @lesismoresports
      @lesismoresports 2 дні тому

      @Alex44343 That just proved the point though. Talent alone only does so much. 2001 Miami doesn't have the resume other all-time teams have. 1995 Nebraska had a tougher schedule and won by a larger margin than Miami did. 2019 LSU had to play a grueling 7 top 10 teams that year and ended the season playing 3 straight top 5 teams. Miami didn't even play the 2nd best team in CFB that year. Oregon destroyed a Colorado team that beat the best team Miami played by as many points as Miami did. For the talent they had, you could argue they should've dominated their schedule by a higher margin of victory than they did.

    • @bigsho4431
      @bigsho4431 2 дні тому

      Bro the reason Nick Saban retired was because he knew he can't grab all the talent like he's been doing. So talent goes a long way. A lot of Hall of famers on one team NFL Hall of famers. Team, can you say the same for those teams?

    • @lesismoresports
      @lesismoresports 2 дні тому

      @@bigsho4431 correct. Not implying talent doesn't matter. But in comparison to other all-time teams, talent is the only argument they have. That alone doesn't definitively put them as the best team ever.
