Nelson Eddy as Mystery Guest on What's My Line.
Victor's speech to Betty is awesome. Love this part of the episode. Miss this show so much.
When movies were movies...
Is this from the 1932 "Girl Crazy"?
Is it Asta from The Thin Man? he was a popular dog back then and Ronald Colman and William Powell were buddies its all in the movie family world.
This is amazing!!!👌😎🔥
Ginger has that ffl look.
I faithfully watched this from this episode until the very first one. And I say to the A#@$%^&S, who took over AMC 🤬😡💔😭
Greer Garson
Is that Greer Garson?
Greer Garson sings this, too, and it’s on a CD, right?
That was fun :)
She's got some killer legs! This little number she did, held the audience's attention. And Ronald Coleman, was so handsome.
Did anyone see this in a theater? Stanford Theater in Palo Alto, CA?
Argh ... I keep waiting for the full movie to show up on You-Tube. This is a great movie. No one is going to make any more money off it, and it has little market value. Someone please put it up. I love Ronald Colman movies, not to mention Myrna Loy.
If you have a library card you can watch it for free on the library streaming service called Kanopy! They have tons of really good films - its way better than netflix. Thank you local library!
@@missyb898 Thank you Missy, I will look into it. In my local town we have a theater that plays exclusively old movies going back almost to the silent era and Pre-Code films on up the modern era and I got addicted to those old movies. So many of them are just wonderful. I think I will have to renew my library card.
@@justgivemethetruth Wow, what an amazing theater! Can I ask what theater it is and where?
@@rosec862 stanfordtheatre.org - It is temporarily closed now due to the pandemic.
2020 May. I love this show. I am searching for the episode where a male actor reads the poem by Henry Scott Holland "Death Is Nothing At All".
betty buckley christmas episode
'm in a corps that stood before the King for half a day, I've the pick of all the ladies, and I'm very pleased to say, They all threw kisses mixed wi' smiles, they get me on the dot, But there's one called Daisy, she's the dearest daisy of the lot. She is my Daisy, my bonnie Daisy, She's the sweetest sugar candy and she's very fond of Sandy, And I weary For my dearie, I would rather lose my spurs than lose my Daisy.
until the DVD is released watch movie Radio Days. it's fantastic
He"s my love-Nelson Eddy !
What a great scene!
I love this film...
I named my vintage clothing store after her. Lol
I thought Nelson Eddy was very handsome this time around.
She is gorgeous and sounds adorable when singing this!!
1) good entertainment, lite-romance blended lite-comedy. 2) classic/ideal tempo for a pre-code film. 3) strong performance by ALL supporting actors. 4) the so talented young Loretta Young. 5) Ronald Colman. 6) idiot dog. 7) did I forget anything? ;)
80s beginner Nope!
thanks! :) ;)
Yeah, Myna (fucking) Loy!
Paul Cavanaugh always good choice for playing a jerk.
This is a great movie ... where is the full movie? Gotta love Ronald Colman
Wow - those gams!
It's ALMOST as good a word as plethora.
"a travesty," lolllll
That is her real voice. Also, while publicists at MGM liked to pin her as Irish..actually her heritage was Scottish. See interview with her in early 1980s here in You Tube. Part One..she talks about her background..and also that she and her grandfather were fans of Harry Lauder.
Yes, they were on and off lovers and wanted to marry but were prevented by their studio. Very sad.
who's that short hair little girl on bob's right?
This was filmed during Bob's Chrstmas engagement at a military base in Anchorage, Alaska (which also included the "Ginger Peachy" sketch), and originally telecast on December 28, 1956.
@MZVIRB There is no nelson jr.
@plethora77 No, it wouldnt be. It would be nothing short of a travesty and a slap in the face to the director and all the others involved in the production of this masterpiece.
Where did you get this clip? I bought Bob Hope's Christmas DVD with this show but it does not include this clip it has a different one when Bob discovers gold and Ginger plays Ginger Peachy after his gold mine. I like the clip!
I love this routine. Greer Garson ....whew! How about when they all start dancing near the end....love it.
nope its not her sorry for this !!!! Oneness
isnt it jeanette mc-donald his soul mate ???
Coptic78 - between 1936 and 1942 N.E. & J. M. starred together in at least 9 feature films which they were romantic partners (& sang together )
A Canadian actress named Barbara Kelly (1924-2007). She appeared on the show twice.
Who's the lady guest panelist?
For the love of God!! Please release this on DVD already!!
11 years later and we STILL don't have it! :( WHY????
GSN rebroadcast this 1960 episode in March 2009. It featured Eddy, still looking very romantic and a game involving the owner of a pickle packing plant. Audiences usually find pickles funny for various Freudian reasons. This game, however, spun out of control. The panel drifted out to sea; Bennett got visibly upset with John's obtuseness; some of the questions nauseated John. I find this episode funny even now, but I bet the director nearly pushed the censor button on it.
Nelson moved to Philadelphia at age 14 but always stayed true to his New England roots. I`m glad that he always retained a hint of his native New England accent. I too loved the "Ayuh". Lorraine Lorraine
Delightful to see Nelson on What's My Line. Got quite a chuckle over the "Kookie" imitation (a la 77 Sunset Strip's Ed Byrnes--a popular show at the time). Nelson had a grand sense of humor as well as a magnificent voice. Thanks for this clip!
Nelson looks wonderful. Loved the "Ayuh" (he was born in Providence, RI). His nightclub act was very popular and he toured extensively for several years. Saw him perform in 1963 and he was terrific. Thanks for sharing.
I love this show, and want it in sindicated reruns or on dvd. PLEASE Rupert Holmes! This show was absolutely the best thing on tv.
Sadly it's not Rupert Holmes' call. He'd love for the show to get onto dvd but AMC keeps dragging their feet about everything in regards to the show...
Man, I miss this show! It was one of the gems of the 90s.
I LOVE THIS SHOW! I agree, the way it ended was decidedly the worst in history. Still hard to believe, in fact. How on earth can we get this put on DVD?? I would buy it SO fast.
1953-the same year Nelson began his nightclub act.
