Your snare is actually playing to the sound of the kick. Like those old Chinese Kung-fu movies where the lips move and the sound comes later. I see you play the snare but the sound comes later. Am I making any sense??🙈

Oh yeh, I see. It is pretty far out of alignment! 😅 I must have not lined up the audio very carefully with the video for those bits when I made this! I think I've gotten a bit better at that since then. Hopefully future vids will be more in sync!

@@christerlich61 I don't have a splash, and nothing sounds right. I cannot get the timing down. He sounds like he's opening his hi hat multiple times during this part.

@@mercertj oh yeh, is there an open hi-hat on the 2 of the 2nd bar in the pattern? I find it really hard to fit in the 16th notes on the 4 of the first bar without playing too slow and getting behind. I imagine Travis Barker probably uses double strokes in that section, playing like a 5 stroke roll ending on the 1 of the next bar (RRLLR), but I don't think my technique is good enough to do it at that tempo. I try to fudge it with single strokes. I think another way to play it and maybe work up to it, is just play eighth nights notes there (4& instead of 4e&a). It doesn't detract much by doing that and I think makes it easier to fit it all in time.

Thanks mate. It's an awesome drum part by Travis! A friend of mine challenged me to learn it but I couldn't find much help online so had to try and figure it out for myself. I eventually figured out the sheet music by ear, but that involved playing it over and over in slow motion to figure out some of the parts 😂 Thanks for the encouraging words!
