Air sprung seat adjustable to your weight but apart from that there is no suspension apart from the air in the tyres. 2 gears, 1 is a road gear that will do about 20mph and the other is a cutting gear that will only do about 3mph. Adjustable hydraulic rams on the front allowing you to lift the deck up.

John Deere absolutely needs to build this mower with center suction and high dump. Nice front mower.

Interesting that in UK the municipality mows that public section between sidewalk and street. In USA we have to do that. Either way, on my in-laws farm, I've got a rusty, 20-some year-old, junker-looking 1445 as well as a 1580 that's only 3 years old. Neither with the flail mower attachment, but both with the 7-iron side discharge. I really probably prefer using the 1445 as it steers tighter and is easier to see in front of the mower deck. It does, however, have noticeably less power. The 1580, on the other hand, it is very tough to challenge. A person can get on and cut grass like the fellas in this video or as if cruising down the road in a luxury auto. Except for perhaps the loud noise it is quite enjoyable. A good headset is helpful.
