I just discovered The Great Uli and I am NOT impressed at all. To me he is just a Big Baby stuck in the 70's trying fancy things and Never hit the target. He OVER does his shaking the strings and it is very annoying. No Pun Intended.

That was my first thought besides the fact that Uli is great, he makes playing guitar look perfectly effortless. Awesome!!!❤

How did he do it? How does he do it? Even when he slows it down my eyes can’t follow his fingers no sooner than I see where he is then he’s gone 5 steps ahead!! What a musical imagination Uli has. So melodic. So fast. Such an innovator. Truly one of the greats.

I have seen this man live 4 times. This year at 68. He still rules every note he plays. Legend. The vibrato, the phrasing, the notes, the legato, the feel.....Top5 on my list.

Even with the extra string and frets I figured out a lot of stuff I learned incorrectly. Including the main riff, though I prefer my two string version. The beginning intervals are interesting but he changes it up a lot, sometimes changes the diminished stuff too, I’m not a big fan of the reggae flamenco inspired variations of the verse parts he does like lol but that’s why he’s the GOAT. I see that hat and I think of the I’m Gonna Get Ya Sucka pimp walk tho 😂😂

This has a lot of resemblance to the Duke Ellington song “Caravan”.

I was never into Uli, he's obviously an amazing player, there's no question but somehow, he doesn't do it for me. I almost feel like he is going way out of his way to be different.... and it shows. Nonetheless, he is a freak of nature. Amazing command of the guitar 🤘
