Not quite, should be soon though. Vice sent me the pre-release to test. Usually when he sends them they’re slightly earlier build numbers but this one was exactly 748 so I think it’s about ready to go.

I'd recommend replaying the on-foot tutorial; since you're still early you should check out every station for pre-upgraded gear, you're looking for silenced kinetics or plasma (Store updates every Thursday so that gear you saw is likely gone). Avoid killing people you're not supposed to, notoriety prevents paying off your bounty safely and is very time consuming to get rid of.

You could have picked up that grade 3 dominator suit that you looked at; already saved on 2 levels of upgrading plus dominator suit gives you 2 primary weapon slots and 1 secondary plus better shields. You can always scan the dead bodies to clone their profiles to access places without the arc cutter.

Success! Good work! Keeping a hoverbike in your inventory is really handy for the times you decide to go harvesting a bit away from your main base. I find it is usually worth the inventory space to carry it and, if I'm doing something that needs more capacity, just fly the SV closer into wifi range. There are a few simple items that those colonists will buy at good prices, if you are in need of cash (if you wanted to buy an advanced upgrade kit back at the trade station, for example). I usually just sell the colonists whatever things I strip out of Xerox bases, but I think it is viable to manufacture the stuff also. They should have a trader there with a price list of what they buy. You can totally use your SV drills on a planet, but it helps to have enough drills to cover the entire beam and draught of your ship (2-6 for small to medium SVs), and enough thrust to back-out under gravity when fully loaded. Take a look at the RF01-Diggidy on the workshop as one example of a versatile design. It is fine print, but your body radiation has built up to 0.7 from your various exposures to radioactive environments. When it passes 1.0 you will start to take degenerative status effects. You can fix it by using a shower.

It’s why I love X4, even if I’m just trucking there is always nail biting stuff going on around me.
Another pro tip... Do like you did and allow the refinery to fill to 100% in each bin. But, don't dump the limpets! Use them to do one last mining bit. As each launches, the refinery will fill that slot and then the limpets will start filling the emptied bins. If you do it just right, you can make it back to port with 6T extra... (you have to sell your existing, exit commodities, and then re-enter in order to be able to sell the last 6T)
To get into the ring safely, target the hot spot and approach it just like you do a station

Congrats! That first one went really well! You learned about the alternate functions of the tools and that you can charge up your suit energy at a charge port too! These are all small steps towards being able to finish up most on-foot missions and they aren't exactly things that are easy to figure out. Anyways, just keep up the good work and you'll be an expert before you know it! I personally try to avoid combat situations if I can, I always get rocked so I prefer to take missions where I can be more stealthy. Also it's worth noting that you can drop off items you pick up back at your ship if you get full and that most of the items around are essentially trash items with no real use. I think you'll continue doing well, just as long as you are expecting that you'll fail a lot of missions, get killed frequently, and probably end up at the jail ship pretty often before you start feeling like you're doing good, that's just how it goes at the start, good luck and thank you for the episode!
Almost forgot- You weren't using your flashlight lol, there is a key-bind for it, I suggest just making it the same bind as the ship lights if it isn't already.

Hello Arquebus 😁 I have answers lol Great 1st mission! You were right about the locked crates, the only way to get in them is to know the 4 digit combo or use an E-breach, the only way to get a combo is to look in a terminal, but since there weren't any terminals there you would have had to use an E-breach. E-breaches are available at Pioneer Supplies at anarchy stations and surface ports, they are also at some fleet carriers that have Pioneer Supplies installed. Very important > "Consumables" can be bought at Pioneer Supplies, you want to stock up on everything (energy recharge, med kits, and grenades), then you can hot key these, so when you are almost out of energy or almost dead you can just use an energy recharge or med-kit. Nice try on mission 2- The reason you had a tough time with the NPC's is that you want to use an energy weapon to take down shields, then switch to a kinetic weapon to take down their armor. You can also use Plasma weapons as they work on both shields and armor, I would suggest an Intimidator shotgun for up close and or Executioner sniper riffle for distance, the only real issue with plasma weapons is that the projectile speed is much slower than other weapons. Its a good idea to put 4 pips into shields before you exit ship or SRV, this will make shields stronger so if vehicle is attacked it will survive longer and also give you a better chance to escape if you are being chased when leaving a POI/settlement. o7
Also, good to remember: when you leave this system and go off adventuring, reclaim your transporters, constructors, and whatnot, store them in your ship, and take them with you so you don't have to do this again next time.
Good work getting the vehicular drill going! Nice job space mining! "yellow" or "pale green" component requirements indicate that you have enough resources to make some, but not all of what you need. "dark green" you have all of what you need, "red" you have none. So you had a bunch of yellow/pale-green items on the list because they all shared a common bottleneck I think. As the machine started using stone dust to refine into basic ores to make the computers, I think that might have reduced the supply for other things until you couldn't make _any_ of the flux coils and they turned red. Its not just the red things you need to get resources for, but also the yellow/pale-green ones.
Thank you for the video! Check the controls for your “Toggle tool mode” button (at the very bottom of the top on-foot controls section), this will allow you to toggle the profile analyzer and charge tool to the alternate modes. The alternate modes are illegal, but you can clone someone’s security level to yourself, and on the charge tool you can use it to discharge, which can stealth kill and also overload those door ‘charge ports’ Good luck! I’m glad this series is still going strong, it continues to be great!
I should familiarize myself with those controls more. I spent time getting the ship controls right but never checked the on foot controls beyond the basics.

Haha you need to play more often so you dont forget stuff lol After you cut the panel off you want to use the energy tool on overload mode to zap the silver round thing to open the door. Illegal missions can be tough and many times result in fines, bounty, and possibly notoriety, I would avoid them unless you really need to do them for some reason. Dont forget there is more than one NPC mission provider in stations, also there is many more missions available in the terminals scattered around, so you don't have to take illegal ones lol. o7
Good tip for long space travel, turn off autobreak and thrust to max and the sbip will keep moving on ots own u can browse menus while traveling.

Hot beverages are a good interim solution, but you've got to prioritise making or buying an EVA boost for your armour to be able to operate in colder environments. I think it needs gold. All the wrecks and special things in space (in RE) will be rigged with motion detectors because punishing the player is fun, I guess. You need to approach them from a distance and either snipe off the sensors or snipe out the core or you get nothing or ambushed or worse. I'm surprised that you are faring so well vs the space drones, and especially that you got away with just ignoring two of them. Those things often wreck my early game unshielded SVs. Good job! You figured a lot out and solved a bunch of problems on this one!

That’s great! So much has changed since these older episodes, I’d recommend also checking out the current playthrough. The dev added so many things and adjusted a lot of the mechanics.
I hear vice is a big fan of mech warrior (who isn't right?) just need some mech based combat missions
I've played all the iterations of Evochron over the years, and I've never been able to stick with it for more than a few hours. The issue I've always had is that it's full of good concepts, but they're all executed in the most boring way possible. I mean, it's incredible that this is a one man project, and that he's been able to create this open world. It's just that all the gameplay loops are repetitive and simplistic, and there's not really any point to doing them. If it was more like X4, with an active and dynamic economy and wars between different factions, that would create some emergent gameplay opportunities. As it stands, there's just no reason to do anything other than upgrading your ship so you can keep doing the same thing, but at a larger scale.
got around 20 hours in vanilla before i came to this mod and i have to say the balance is way better in eXperimental. Also as a miner you should run the Mine Missions in the beginning because they pay way more then you can ever mine in the beginning. Later it gets better with more cargo but at this point you should trade
Hello Arquebus 😁 Hey I think you are getting the hang of this haha Only tip I have is pip management, your shields will come back faster if you put 4 pips to shields, just remember to put them in weapons when you want to attack. Congrats on combat promotion! o7
This space trucking playthrough is basically the only thing that tempts me to upgrade my potato.
The advanced upgrade kit sometimes drops from alien loot containers when you raid POI's, or from the quantum star merchant (by the teleporter) that was right behind the ATM. The merchant is unrelated to the teleporter: teleporter access is gated by your faction relationship level and the merchant is just a merchant. You could have flown into the station, but you were getting stuck on something. You can use the "o" auto-level command in space which will orient you to the space station's "up" just like it does on the ground, then you could have flown in without hitting the edge or whatever it was. Selling guns isn't a viable way of making money in RE, like it is in vanilla. The best places to sell things are not the trading stations but the various colonies and industrial stations on planets or in space. There are also little dialogue options with most of the traders where they might ask for some specific item and you can bring it to them.. but you have to take notes (possibly in the steam overlay) because those fetch quests are not tracked in game.
These traders are too busy! I get turned around so easily in there. I probably missed half of the things that were sitting out in plain sight. I'll have to try again. Good to know about the guns!
You are definitely looking in the wrong place. Not gonna backseat your playthrough any more than I already do, though. It is there.
I think he'd just have to fly a search pattern across the entire playfield in like 40km stripes, which is sort of a chore until you have a better detection range.

A cheater way to mine fast on planets is that the terrain walker mines at like 4x speed but has a small holding capacity. So land on the surface of a planet exit the ship, mine till the walker is full enter the ship to offload and immediately exit the ship again to repeat the process
I just wish there were a way to discard cargo you don't want without it making a container!

Hello Arquebus 😁 Nice shooting! haha the "Advanced Maintenance" cost is based on how many light seconds traveled and time you have traveled in super cruise, you can lose as much as 30% hull hit points if "Ship Integrity" gets to 0%. There also "paint" option in advanced maintenance, if you travel enough light seconds without repairing the paint, you will start to see the paint become degraded and worn off. If you want to try this you have to be careful not to select the the "repair all structural elements", instead only select the "ship Integrity" option from the row above. Sometimes everything goes great haha o7
There is one game, or series of two games, that do Newtonian flight in space exceptionally good. Independence War (I-War 1) and Edge of Chaos (I-War 2: EoC). To me, no game so far got close to that realism. Sure it also has some FTL-type where Newtonian physics no longer apply, but in anything sublight, the I-War series beats any by lengths.
I do have those on my list to try out in the future!

When you are looking at the device list on you ship, you will see a couple of the devices have percentages (eg 22%) by them. Those parts have taken damage and need repairs. An easy way to find one thruster among many is to use the "show on hud" feature to be able to locate it and repair it. I am surprised that mining the Titanium in Polaris space didn't give you a big reputation hit with them.. it should have done so unless you have gotten up to Honoured with them, I think. I didn't see the reputation hits displayed on your screen, so maybe you got away with it. Mineable asteroids will show up as markers on your scanner.. your SV scanner range isn't great and the blue-haze asteroid field usually has reduced detection range also. Might have to fly around a bit. They may also be outside of the blue haze, so might need to cover a little distance.. Sometimes good asteroids have Xerox bases near them, so it might be worth getting closer to the red blips on your scanner.. Don't get too close though because your little SV will get one-shotted by anything in space.
Yeah I figured the main issue was my scanner range. I recorded the next episode right after so I don't actually solve the problem... and then discover that there's an actual planet with neodymium right next door (which I haven't gotten to yet).
@@arquebusx it is also good to be cautious about mining asteroids until you have shields and defenses. Spoilers, but the RE mod is setup to troll new players and it will sometimes spawn defensive drones when you start to mine. It is survivable in a starter ship but only if you are vigilant, prepared, decently armed, and/or able to outrun pursuit.
Are you not using the "AutoGroup" with your devices on the space ship for a reason?

I just remembered this game and searched "dos football x and o". Found your video and the game of my childhood. Thank you for making the video so I was able to find the name of this game.
I spent an considerable amount of time trying to remember the name of the game and searching for it exactly the same way! I can't remember how I finally stumbled onto it, but it's the only game of its kind that I've ever seen so I knew immediately I had the right one.

How did you pull up that command window with the [find all turrets] option?
The context menu is the "interact" menu (default key is F), which gives you the context menu for whatever you're targeting, but that particular menu item is part of Keurtee's Surface Element Targeting mod (available on Nexus).

Im saving my mining for when i eventually get a carrier as far as I'm aware you need to mine for fuel for them. As for now im in Robigo Mines passenger mission purgatory. Worked out 50 completed missions is a billion but its mind numbing 😐😂
