I won a big battle with 6 archers and general's bodyguard in medieval total war, by baiting enemies with general unit. Fighting with archer only requires preventing enemy from charging straight into your army, or baiting the enemy army so that it doesn't run straight into your archers, so they have more time to shoot at them. EDIT: enemy did outnumber my troops btw. get gud.

UA-cam is run by nothing but incompetent old people. I had so many times when I was younger I wanted to do this - but then a nightmare wave of demonetization happens every 2 - 3 years. So having thought this through, I think part of what your struggle is going to be is who you are matched up against. Lizardmen, Dwarves, Dark Elves, Skaven are your main enemies and all of them are a pain for cheap archer spam like this. Once you start getting levels it will get better, but you really need to rely on basic archers being cost effective - 44 gold upkeep is so good. Checkerboard formations with space so that menace below can't destroy you, archer flanks to get around shields, and being willing to sacrifice armies might be necessary for this campaign. As well, maybe go after the Vampirates because zombies are easy to shoot and that would give you a really good economy. Maybe even navigate away from Lustria and go somewhere else if you can.

Huntsmen have really sick buffs, can easily get their missile strength up to 100 or even more. I dont actually know where they come, but they are there, or maybe mods 😅. When i plaeyd marcus last time without mods, was when he was released, and back the i managed to get it to 150. Archer heroes and lords are so bad, the arrow is so bad. So if you are able to get the engineer, go for them. They also buff missile damage and the engineer lord gets steam tank. 🎉

100% never mean 100% in warhammer cuz enemy lord always have some chance to spot ambush making it like 80%

Some ambush mechanic advice: At 13 minutes, markus got discovered. Ambush % doesnt affect discoverability. The terrain you are in, and the distance from the enemy you are affect it. If your in the woods, it'll be harder for markus to be discovered. Markus got discovered so he was taken out of ambush. The ai saw your 2nd lord was in the woods giving them a boost to ambush, causign markus to not engage. Unfortunate circumstance

Also the elf, dwarf, and engineer heros buff missile dmg. And you will wanna check out wulfharts hunter missions. Good buffs and items

I genuinely think there cant be 100% ambush. They just get found regardless. It's dumb as hell. Makes me think there's an overflow error if you would exceed 100%

Your own charalters can pull you out of ambush stance as well as every other, if the are to close to you... noob

Play on legend an play the first 10 turns, then you know how the ai could move...

Use skaven tactics, one or multiple armies in ambush, another smaller weaker army as bait not in ambush right behind the hidden armies. I rolled snik...sniktch.. assassin rat campaign that way EDIT!!!.... NVM! THE RATS JUST WALK PAST YOUR AMBUSHES APPARENTLY!!!....
