The Cheapness Review
South Africa
Приєднався 1 лип 2022
Every second Thursday at 3PM GMT
Reviewing the weird broad taste in games I play with a focus on affordability to try and convert non-gamers:
Sale price (On Steam usually during a summer sale)
My game time and price per hour
Size on the hard drive
Does it work on a 10+ year old standard desktop I've named "The Warhorse"
Stereotypically kid friendly or potentially offensive?
The games are, as mentioned, weird. Newish, old, AAA, indie, popular, sometimes less than 100 reviews on Steam.
Most genres.
A lot of stuff that a lot of people will never play but maybe find interesting to watch. Kind of serious with some gags... some claim I have a lovely voice so maybe I can be an ASMR sleep aid that's easier to explain.
I include snippets of music and games that may have copyright issues
I have a Patreon account if you want to support me (Warning I have no merch)
But thank you for simply watching
Oh and please consider using Ecosia... I believe in them

Victorian Gang Warfare BOARDGAME- Antihero Review

In this video we delve into the strategic digital boardgame Antihero. Most moves seem to have counters and it's fun if it's a rare 2 player boardgame. It's value for money isn't amazing though as the single player campaign is short and flimsy!
So what is the Cheapness Review channel about?
The Cheapness Review is a channel that reviews a somewhat weird selection of games while focusing on how affordable they are.
Weird games because my taste is weird and I chase variety! Plus that gives the benefit that you will see an interesting or maybe even obscure game. Hopefully I'll convince you to buy it or you'll be glad you've been entertained by an interesting game that you probably won't play and my attempts at wit.
Affordable gaming because I am cheap and I would like to drive home that gaming can be for people with less disposable income by showing the game's true value for money (Price per hour), it's download size, whether it has local multiplayer and whether or not it's easy to run on our other 10 year old pc. If the game is low spec enough to play there, your parent's work pc or your student laptop should be able to as well!

ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON 3: COMPLETE EDITION Review [Ep. 70]
This one was fun.
I remember this when it was just a demo, only had basic combat and parkour, no story to it
Thanks for watching! Just a headsup... if the story matters to you, it isn't necessarily brilliant for the most part and the dialogue has jerky gesture transitions, but it's enough to spur you forward to complete it and it is lovely and depressing in terms of atmosphere (If you like that in a game)
@@thecheapnessreview sheesh it was years ago, back when jacksepticeye lived in a log cabin in the woods old, still had his little fishermans hat
sixk now i want this
Thanks for watching!
I like the music. It reminds me of Final fantasy 12.
Those ragdoll physic, hahaha!
Love the effort.
I like the look of this.
You got all the right moves! They messed it up 🕺!
Anti-Clockwise is what I say it is!
Who was the artist preforming?
Leanie May I believe
Another top notch detailed review. Thanks!
Hahaha! Melktert!
I remember not finishing this one. I found it hard.
Probably my favourite turn-based skirmish game of all time. I hope Cyberknights is a hit so they can make a 2nd Templar game. That also looks good but there is something about the xenos and big mech suits that is just more appealing to me. I was hoping Gears Tactics would scratch this itch but it isn't nearly as fun to me.
Thanks for watching and thanks for mentioning your opinion on Gears Tactics because now and then I would see it and be curious over whether or not to make a purchase
Nova nukers remind me of the small planets on rachet and clank games.
The ship building makes me think of stratosphere.
I think that is a yuka laylee.
hey this game looks like a fun bite sized time o:
the originals were much better
Maybe I should have taken the chance to get 2 a couple of weeks ago, it still holds up visually and it's been a while since I played it... plus I'm pretty sure it will work on the warhorse!
i never heard any good music in this game , that and the difficult slow progress in runs really sucked the joy out of it for me
nice review
True, if your chaos level rise things can get quite dangerous. Also, I remember the jellies have crazy resistance.
Pal your voice in this review made me turn off.
Too listless or the tone?
@@thecheapnessreview pal I'm not here to tell you how to speak or tell you how to do anything for that matter it was just boring it was like bring in a lecture we're you loved the subject matter but the person giving the lecture put you off, no charisma no sense of play this no optimism, look it's one blokes opinion it dosent matter to you look at it this way you did something I could never do thinking now I shouldn't of even said what I did please except my apology I was probably having a crap day I was in the wrong not you, do what you do. Stay safe and well.
@@markpoland5748 Don't worry about it. If you can't listen to criticism, you probably shouldn't have a channel and if it's not something I don't want to change then this should act as a way of learning you can't please everyone... and besides it wasn't the best form on my part to unleash the kindness offensive, I could have just as easily read the comment and moved on. Have a nice day!
@@thecheapnessreview That was really well taken on your behalf and maybe I should of just listened and watched your video for what it was, because what I forgot to tell you was I actually bought the game, and thanks very much for getting back to me and been very mature there's alot of people on here who would of curse me out so thank you. Stay safe and well. Have a nice evening.
Hahaha, I remember this one. I prefer it over Isaac, but only because I was no good at Isaac.
Yeah it's definitely worth it and not for kids. You can literally find sussy items that enemies drop, like horny magazines. I got this game and played it and I have no regrets.
I still have the original. It was such a fun game.
The Tetris game was fun. It's heart breaking when the tower starts falling apart and you loose.
What a lively redition of bomberman. There is more of a story too.
Wow this video impressed me. Earned a sub right there
Thank you very much!
Hahaha! Good show!
It looks like a mafia game I played a long time ago. It looks good.
cool framerate, bro
This is a fun strategy game.
Reminds me of extreme g on the n64 back in the day.
This game is so cute
Fun times.
The charaters in joe danger are this. 1. Joe danger 2. Moe danger 3. Chuckles the chimp 4. Sir bonehead 5. Pink nasty 6. The turcky chomping joe-romimo 7. Knuckles the chimp 8. Undead knight of doom 9. Cock-a-doodle joe 10. Black nasty
thank you sir
Great review!
You can add any of the music options to your rides if you select the ride. Also, in scenery, you can place loudspeakers and select which music and the volume of the speakers. Another cool thing, you can import your own mp3 into RCT3 super easy and play those on the ride too!
Thanks for watching and telling me about these features... I bet a lot of people made metal nightmares and set it some extreme speed metal hahahahah!
rocket scientist, brain surgent and roller coaster engineer. Hahaha!
me and the bro played dungeon master back in the day, we didn't get far being 7 and 5 making our own map. love these games.
Thanks for watching! If you're interested there are two other grid based games I can think of that you can get on steam (The Etrian Odyssey games or Star Crawlers) but I haven't played either yet and I kind of doubt that they offer as much of a possibility of getting lost (But maybe...)
You did a great job with this review :)
That bit at 9:05 reminded me of lemmings. How they walked to their end.
So this is the game Sean Murray made before No man sky. It's not my thing, but it looks like fun to play with a controller.
no idea this existed. still have my paper backs.
Thanks for watching! If you're interested there are other examples of fighting fantasy books games on steam that range from bare bones digitization of those paperbacks (Fighting Fantasy Classics which is free) to the more ambitious (The Warlock of Firetop Mountain which employs 3d modeling)
I really like the art in this game.
Jo, this galaxy is full of life.
Great review! One thing I'm not sure about is when you talked about roguelike/lite elements: "It's "you die, then you start again" - the only thing that carries over is your knowledge" - isn't that pretty much the definition of a roguelike, having a permadeath mechanic with randomized short runs?
Perhaps as I don't go by the most technical of definitions (I have very little idea what Rogue was truly like) but instead I opted more to define having say a roguelike currency to buy permanent improvements or unlocking new items you can find on the runs to add spice, keep you invested and maybe smooth difficulty to instill a sense of progress. But I think you have a point that those do not have to be present for it to be a roguelike... I just think it may have encouraged me to stick it out for more runs maybe. Thank you very much for watching and commenting and I apologize for taking so long to respond, I post these on a schedule ahead of time
Hahaha! For a ice-cream melting, that guy seems happy.
I like how quick this game is. Quake 2 is just as good.
