hi. i do music sometimes and on one occasion dredged up a famous man's college work. feel free to say hello.
Stephen Hillenburg - Wormholes
"Wormholes is one of the two short films (the other being The Green Beret, which is found on UA-cam) created and produced by Spongebob Squarepants creator Stephen Hillenburg at CalArts in 1992. Aside from it and The Green Beret having been exhibited internationally in such festivals as Annecy, Hiroshima, Ottawa, Oberhausen and the Los Angeles Animation Celebration, Wormholes has not surfaced online in any form." - From the Lost Media Wiki

When squidward moves is the vibe I kinda got off of this
6:30 he even predicted The Caretaker - Everywhere At The End Of Time
Na, noch jemand von der Spongebob TeleKaddi Folge hier? :)
2:20 Ohh hey!! that Squidward!😮
Absolutely thought provoking. Time dilation and relativity and drugs on display
i think the fly is a cosmic entity
I love this so much and Stephen Hillenburg will always be remembered
I've watched this 3 or 4 times in my life. The first being when I was around 18, the second and third in my early and mid 20's and now today at 29. For the first time this BLEW my fucking mind. Incredible visual depiction of relativity. The way he plays with time in this is absurd.
fun fact: this video syncs surprisingly well with "paranoid android" by radiohead. put this on in one tab and paranoid android on in another to get the definitive way to experience this
Why does it feel like I watched a psychological horror from 1992?
As crazy as SpongeBob is, I was not expecting Hillenburg’s early work to be so trippy.
I mean…. Dude listened to ween,
Holy crap this is impressive
Despite how wild this is, it kinda portrays the monotony of life pretty well, even though that's probably not what it was going for at all.
Hey, I’d give the man some credit. He made the protagonist of his cartoon a fry cook for a reason.
Great stuff, Hillenburg was part of the experimental animation program in CalArts at the time. Another alumni from that program includes Henry Selick, the director of Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The inspirations from Fantastic Planet (a major inspiration for Pikmin btw!) are pretty neat to see here, would definitely recommend anyone find a way to see it if they can.
Who recognized the squid wars lookalike?? This is crazy to see the beginning of what SpongeBob is and what started such a beautiful masterpiece.
Reminds me of Bill Plympton
3:21 Running in the 90s be like:
The guy looking out the window gives me Kaz vibes. That’s probably why Hillenburg picked him to be a storyboard artist in several episodes
My IQ too small to comprehend what I just seen

Anyone can be an artists, especially Stephen Hillenburg who was a marine biologist before creating SpongeBob. This film is basically Albert Einstein’s theory of relativity.
This feels like the ending of Evangelion
Yes, I will stay crunchy.
this is amazing wow!!!
Before SpongeBob There Was Wormholes
This looks like an mtv bumper
i get it
Él es el N° 1
4:19 - 4:25 WOAH. HOW DID HE DRAAW STUFF LIKE THAT!?
Esto es muy de ohio
It's about time dilation, relativity and physics.
2:39 this reminds me of that episode where spongebob had to work the night shift lol.
This was his first animation de entire time!?😱
the green beret was first, and there were probably a BUNCH of smaller unpolished projects that never got to see the light of day. but, close.
it's about the chaos and entropy of life
The early sketches by Stephen reminds me a lot of Bill Plympton's creations.
Spongebob lore right there.
... What is this?
thanks for dredging up the college work of this famous man. and RIP stephen hillenburg
Цукаты фууууууу
The way he stitched together all of the footage at the end to illustrate the flies life starting over, blew my mind.....Now it makes sense why Spongebob was so creative
i’m too high for this
2:18 Squidward prototype
Я первый русский человек здесь прикольно кстати я после сётрлинга 😎😎😎😎😁
This guy should make a tv show or something.
You have just entered...the intertidal zone!
I'm convinced Stephen Hillenburg had knowledge of some Eldrich truth and managed to escape with his sanity, and that this was his way of conveying that Eldrich truth
🪐
1991
SB-129 vibes
Theory of relativity
there is a lot of meaning in this
