Afternoon Westflow Spotting at MEM.
On Sunday, September 20, 2024 I got out for afternoon spotting with FedEx. 18R at MEM is primarily used for West flow departures and approaches during the rush. The same would have applied to Northwest back when we were a hub for them.
The first location is at the cell phone lot in the location of the former hotel we used to have on site. it is now just used for a short term waiting area for people waiting to pick up passengers at the terminal building. The second location is at Airways and Nelly Road at an undeveloped lot open to the public.

Special Access Spotting from MEM with the FedEx Rush.

On Tuesday, July 23, I was able to get out spotting during the FedEx rush. I get access to one of our Memphis Fire Dept. buildings that was previously the MEM ARFF. It comes with a great view of 18/36C and 18L/36R and CAT 3B ILS equipment for 18C. This is one of the best views you could get at Memphis Int'l, a great place I like to get to for photos and videos.

This year at the annual airliners international convention, I got my spotting in at the newly renovated Kansas City international airport. I would say I had a good time between June 28-30 spotting for the 2024 convention. I only wish they could have finished those renovations with TWA still around, but is still good they got the renovations done regardless. The only thing I wish could've been d...

It was another smooth flight down to Atlanta on my way to the annual airliners international convention in Kansas City. Getting on board I was surprised to learn my seat did not have a window. Trying my best, I used my phone to record the departure. I will definitely make sure not to book the same seat again. N935DZ was a 737-9GPER that had its first flight January 26, 2012 before being deliver...

After another good year at airliners international, I was happy to fly on N932AT out of MSP. I was surprised to learn it was a former TWA 717 after having visited the TWA flight museum at Kansas City downtown airport in their former hub. I was happy to find another 717 before their eventual retirement. N932AT was a 717 originally delivered new as N406TW to TWA on July 12, 2000. Eventually trans...

After a good week at the airliners international convention, I got to fly home on N324NB for the first leg. I really do like how Delta has retrofitted the cabins to have a more modern feel. I do feel like it is a smaller aircraft based off the less space it has between the wing and the cockpit as compared to the A320. N324NB is an A319-114 that had its first flight on February 28, 2001 and was ...

On the way to the annual airliners international convention, I had a good ride on Delta's N822DX. I was glad to have flown on my favorite airplane again on the way up to Kansas City. N822DX was originally a 757-26D with its first flight on October 5, 2004 and delivered new to Shanghai Airlines on March 31, 2005. it ended up on Delta on December 29, 2015 coming fitted with the Pratt and Whitney ...

A Day's Worth of Spotting at Memphis Int'l.

Catching all of departures on a windy and sunny April 14 and all of the approaches during a cloudy April 17, it is what a normal day looks like at Memphis International. I only wish we could get more part 121 airlines for pax service and a heavier presence of other cargo operators to get back to #1 for cargo service internationally.

Spotting from 2 different afternoons on February 27th at 18C and March 12 at the various locations, I was happy to get a variety of FedEx and pax aircraft. After the morning of FedEx landings at MEM, their fleet heads back out for the afternoon of deliveries before returning overnight. Pax traffic at Memphis international has held steady, not seeing any new increase of service in a few months. ...

Video has good sound and good color. You need to use a tripod, hand held video is too shaky (Earthquake footage)
I am currently trying to improve my transitioning. This was with a gimbal head on top of my tripod.
Really great catches 👏 MD-11 ❤
I didn't spot any worths.. what do they look like?

Simply MAGNIFICANT having KMCI spotted on the UA-cam. I love the smaller aircraft without all the mumbo-jumbo associated with the `Big Tin.' Thank you.
love the 757
Nice video ❤❤❤
Holly smokes that worked good. Only problem was i went too low on the side and one of the spinning heads hit the board. Clean board, but $150 for new surface cleaner.
Jenni xuất looked
He really buttered that landing.

one of the best crj-200 takeoff sounds i’ve ever heard
I’ll miss the -200’s when they’re retired. I am glad they can have a second life as a freighter.
Надеюсь не будет как в фильме Изгой .....
Lucky!! It’s been a while since I got golden hour footage I’m absolutely jealous. About how much do these cross country delta flights run you $? I fly spirit but they’re boutta get swallowed by JetBlue
Currently the cheapest we can get Delta on this route is $350-400, booking early and in economy. I was glad we took off in the golden hour light, making a good lighting departure.
For the cockpit. Mostly the same cockpit of the B737 that you fly with the airlines…..a few differences but takes off and lands the same as any other 737….it’s the mission that is different….which makes it unique. Way back in the day my middle brother was one of the crew members that loaded the sonobuoys and launched them. 737 body but 767 ER wings for longer airborne loiter times.
So much more advanced than the P-3's I used to crew. I do wonder if they miss the MAD boom, though.
I used to have a math teacher back in high school who used to fly the P-3 Orion's for the Navy. He told me he would've liked to have all the automation that they have now.
@@JT-ch9gt A big consideration…probably a big one in this case……the MAD boom on the P3 was at the tail section with a fairing and aerodynamically clean look…..B737 airframe and probably most commercial aircraft for that matter….the APU is literally in the tail section. APU exhaust in the tail and usually a retractable/faired off intake door somewhere close!! S-3…Carrier Based P-3 companion….had a retractable MAD boom….along (Rear) with retractable Inflight Refueling Probe (Front). Original P3 design had a retractable APU exhaust door forward left lower fuselage.
I have about 8500 hours in the P-3c. This new P-9 is cool. I agree with you about the MAD system. How do they know when they are on top of the target without MAD? AOC (NAC/AW) USN retired. P.s. the seats look like your in First Class on Delta! 😂😂😂
Wow where u find a power washer like that.
This was actually a friend’s powerwasher. If you have an Instagram, follow me at Wheninflight.
Love the E-175
Thank you. Do you also do powerwashing?
@@Wheninflight I'm thinking of starting a buisness yes.
Wow that’s really satisfying
Nice engine roar
I’m going there next week
1:51 gears down sound
Ah the Kalitta 744s are still there
Memphis cut that route to las vegas.

This is a great video David! I found it really interesting and learned a lot
Yea, thank yall. I hope it's not to cold yet up at UND.

FIRST!!!!!!
finally a great CRJ video
Wow check out DeltaTraveler and I have a 777 takeoff on there
cool
great view thanks for sharing your windowseat
Wrong, Delta's 777's use the Pratt and Whitney P4000 engines. Not Rolls Royce
Well, if you're familiar with rzjets.net, this 772 has the Trent engines on it. You may want to look it up and see. You'd put the registration number in the registry 24bit search bar and see.
Very nice video's you got there. i've got a bunch too

delta flight 2020 ive flown this one before!
This is actually Delta 1075 into LAX.
oh lol oppsie
Do you know what a static takeoff is?
Yes, it's where the pilots pull up to the runway all lined up, and then add some power while sitting on the brakes. After a few seconds, they'll let go of the brakes, and then immediately put the engines on full power and do the rest of the takeoff.
David McDonald I think a true static takeoff is when you hold the brakes, apply takeoff thrust (even if you stop at an intermediate position to verify things are working properly, you'll still hold the brakes until you get the thrust all the way up), then release the brakes.
+MusicLover11325 that would actually not be a bad static takeoff
Hey it seems like you fly allot. What do you think of the Detroit airport so far? And do you have a favorite plane type. Thanks
Oh, I really like DTW. When I was flying through there to get to Europe, I was kind of expecting it to be somewhat disorganized due to there recent bankruptcy, but it was great. And I would say my favorite type would be the 757/767 series.
Yeah i can understand that.. It was a pit of an airport till they redid the whole things mabe 6 years ago now, its one of my favorites also, but mabe i am partial because i live in the suburbs of detroit. thanks for the timely response. i like the a330 alot also but 757 is probably my favorite.
Aaron Diamond Would you have a favorite airline maybe? Mine, here is Delta, but when I'm out of the country, it's defintely KLM.
Yes i do, Delta is the usa choice. I have only flown once outa the us. I prefer the newer cleaner hubs. My dads a big southwest fan, Atlanta is a cool town, the airport is so so unless you go intl so i heard. But not as many airports have done a huge overhaul as i thought. i have been to clt, atl, fll, pbi, mia, lax, cincinnati and pit. so far
Great landing in MSP! ERJ FOR EVER! :)
I liked all your videos, watched them and subscribed.
