This is quite masterfully written composition. One can tell that Huang Tzu was inspired by personal tragedy. In form it is an concert overture written in sonata form in Romantic style. Nostalgia main theme is used as an Berlioz’s idée fixe obviously representing Huang’s love for Hu Yongfu.
