Photographing Dartmoors remaining Autumn Colours
In today's video, I take you on a journey back to Dartmoor to capture the last of the autumnal colors 🍁. I'll also be testing out the Sirui 24mm Anamorphic lens for both photography and video. This lens gives that cinematic, letterbox look, which really adds a unique touch to the footage.
The day started a bit challenging with some creative block, but as the light improved, I managed to capture some shots I’m really proud of! I'll be sharing both the raw and edited versions of my images side-by-side at the end, so stick around to see the transformation. 📸✨
If you enjoy landscape photography, lens reviews, or just love the beauty of Dartmoor, make sure to give this video a thumbs up 👍, subscribe for more content, and let me know in the comments which photo was your favorite!

No excuses! Don't let procrastination stop you from capturing precious moments. Get out there and take those photographs! Very beautiful nature. Please keep up your good work.❤❤🎉🎉😀Good Luck from your new friend. 👌
@@SoulOfCanada01 thank you so much
Very beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing with us. You got new subscriber here❤❤😃
@@SoulOfCanada01 thank you so much for your kind words. I am very fortunate where I live.
Looks fantastic!
It's a shame that Wistman's Wood is restricted, but it's probably for the best. It became too poular for its own good. But, if you know where to look, there are equally enchanting woods around Dartmoor.
Agreed. Lots other woods around my favourite place is a little Nature reserve near Loddiswell. But I have list of places I want to visit, just trying to find time to do it.
This is fantastic - it's a beautiful place and you have captured it perfectly!
I enjoyed this Paul, it's my favourite woodland location. I like that you show raw files and the edited version.
@@SimonBurnCreative I started showing raw files because I have the habit of overcooking my edits, trying to tone down what I do in lightroom and Photoshop
@@PaulNewberyPhotography great idea!
Very nice. Is there restrictions there all the time?
@@stigfloberghagenphotography this time and my previous trip there were signs saying that you can go around the woods but not through. A few people commented that there were fences around the woods but if there were they are not there now. I guess the restrictions will continually change to protect these ancient woodlands.
Nice video!
Thanks! Stig
@@PaulNewberyPhotography 👍
so it seems that you edit only enough to make it look like what your actual experience was. Respect for that! I have the same thought about being more or less accurate to the scene.
@@SeaAngMo23 thanks. I struggle with editing if I am honest. I never know when to stop. From an upcoming shoot in Wistmans wood I will be revising some edits and dialling it back as they look too photoshopped.
@@PaulNewberyPhotography i've only used canon DPP so far. once I master that I will give LRC a try. I'm not so enthusiastic about the whole subscription thing though.
@@SeaAngMo23 You could try Affinity Photo 2 a try, I have had a play and it seems really good. I think they are still offering a six month free trial. Currently just one payment i.e. not a subscription
Looks like a beautiful place to get out and explore, thanks for the look around.
@@ThailandOutdoors it's great area to explore. I can't wait for the opportunity to revisit.
good job!! Paul
@@hellounaaa thank you Una😃
That's really cool and great sharing my friend. I'm glad to add my self to your channel. Stay safe and God bless us all. Have a great day ahead.
Thank you so much, it's a place I have fallen in love with I never get bored of going there, always something new to sea 🙂
Nice video and location 👍🙂
Thanks 😀
That looked like a fun day out! Great locations, great photos Paul. 👍
Thanks Simon it was a great day in Dartmoor, my ears are still ringing because the River Dart was flowing so fast.
You got a lot of beautiful landscapes in the south of England 👍
@@stigfloberghagenphotography thanks Stig. I feel very lucky to have this on my doorstep.
Nice approach to photography 👍🙂
@@stigfloberghagenphotography thank you Stig ,😀
splendid place as well as your shoot❤
Thanks a lot 😊
very detailed video!! thank you for your sharing!!!
Great job 🥳

thank you for your sharing this detailed video!!
❤😂🎉 Looks like , a nice spot. I know Woodleigh and Loddiswell , quite well. It's amazing how South Brent, is also near The River Avon . My bones are hungry for yhat place still ! I expect, I might have to return to The River Avon , for some trace element maybe. Like an elephant ! And Totnes. For my fghhh ! 😮
It's a lovely spot, in may when the bluebells and wild garlic are out isy favourite time. Have you been to Andrews Wood Nature reserve near Loddiswell that is one of my favourite spots at the moment.
just booked a night here in July ❤
Enjoy, it's an absolutely stunning location
Man I miss Palladia TV, they used to broadcast this festival here in the USA on TV. Love seeing the 80's bands I grew up watching on MTV.
Nice pictures ❤
Thank you.
just watched this on a big screen, very disappointed with the autofocus performance on some of the video sequences with Nikon z30.
THAT WAS GOOD,
i was being scarcastic
Well done Paul 👌 looks amazing 👍 where was it ?
Thanks Damian it was at Ayrmer Cove. (Sorry for my slow response)
@@PaulNewberyPhotography I think I’ve been there walking from Wonwell Beach, nice place 😊

My ashes are going to be scattered at Rewind Henley :)
nice, soaked in my split wine and gin 🙂
Never been there, now i want to go. Nice work Paul!
Thanks Simon. It's well worth it, we go at least once a year for winter sun. If you are into travel, street or architecture photography it's a fantastic location to photograph or just walk around. The warm weather and reasonable prices are a bonus.
@@PaulNewberyPhotography I'll put it on the list!
Nice, i didnt know one could do that.
I was at Rewind North I'm glad i saw Andy Bell there and not at Rewind South 😂.
My wife only was really excited to see Andy Bell, she was almost in tears with disappointment 😥
I had a blast, yet again, this year, well, right up until a pissed out of his head Andy Ding-Dong decided to audition for the part of the world's worst ever Aladin. He needs rehab. At least 6 months. As for the rest. Loved them, especially Martin Fry (an old mate of mine) and Slim Jim Phanton (an old drinking pal of mine from the early days when our bands were tearing up the joint!) I'll be there next year, as long as you keep any and all piss-heads from attempting karaoke with their own songs.
It was a great weekend except for Andy, agree he needs some help and hopefully he gets it. ABC were great, and we dodged a bullet with the weather I saw dark grey cloud and somehow it passed by.
@@PaulNewberyPhotography Same here with the clouds. Maybe they were a sign of someone getting blasted on bottles of tequila (at least 3 full ones according to a backstage “artiste” handler)
@@hugohackenbush3524 and yet his 'team' trying to make out as though they don't understand what happened on the night (BS). ABC, UB40, Nik Kershaw could/should've headlined. Otherwise, a great weekend!
agreed and Rewind festival put out some bs statement as well. Every other performer on both Saturday and Sunder were excellent.
3 bottles!!, I am suprised he could stand.
Beautiful shots and woodland! Love the shot at 2:00. Great share Paul 😁
Thanks 😊
Просто искал хоть каких-нибудь обзоры на olympus e20. И вот оказался здесь -_-
Yes CPL and especially viriable ND are awesome. I think your mic was off though.
How was the mic off?too quiet or muffled. I thought I had levels right.
@@PaulNewberyPhotography Very quiet. Just watch it over, compare to other shorts. Thanks for the video!
@@teonesterov9141 cheers😄 you are right very quiet.
Beautiful location!
Yes it was!
These forests must be looked after forever
Absolutely..
Typical British weather... 😘
I have the Z50 which I use for photography and a bit of b-roll, so can't justify getting the Z30 too, but it looks like a great camera.
I really like it, but I occasionally miss the EVF especially in bright conditions. But with the flippy screen and tally light its great for video.
@@PaulNewberyPhotography Yes, that flippy screen and tally light made it tempting to look at and did get me considering it... until the wife saw what I was doing.
Hey Paul, discovered you because you watched one of my videos. Glad to have found you, I like the locations you're visiting. Subbed!
Thanks Simon, I notice that your older locations look very familar were you based in Devon before Canada?
@@PaulNewberyPhotography I wasn't based there, but I travel to Devon as much as possible, because my family are from Dartmoor. Haven't been in a while because of Covid etc., but plan to get back there more often.
Good stuff and now I know where it is 😂
It's worth a visit, the whole coastal past is stunning
Some nice footage, where is it? Thanks for sharing.
I use to Z30 for my vlogging. The camera gets her pretty poor right up. It’s actually a pretty good camera in both photography, video and for vlogging.
cheers I am enjoying the Z30 its an excellent backup and travel camera
Thanks for sharing mate some nice images. Keep safe!
Thanks, you too!
Found that a bit weird to be honest. You’re the wrong side of Reading for that to be Henley!! That’s Goring/Streatley. But the weirdest bit was the soundtrack of waves breaking on a beach! 😳 looked like a lovely day though, and you can’t beat being on the river! 😳😊
Great location! I liked the composition at 3:37, the branches coming in was quite sweet 😁
Thank you very much! I was very jealous of your Norway trip
🔥🔥
Very nice. New subscriber. Thanks.
Thank you, you have great channel as well.
Agreed. It's a magical coastline. Really liked the cliffs. First thumbs up👍
Thank you :-)
Thanks Damian, it is Arymer Cove. Near bigbury on sea
