Thanks for posting. We were in there that night. My wife is the one stood up dancing at the front. The highlight was the impromptu Black Sabbath Paranoid rendition when someone shouted it out as a request. Brilliant musicians, made our cruise. We went to the 7/10 every night.

We were on that Sept cruise and this band just rocked. Went to see them three times. Best cruise entertainment well done P&O (and Gary!)

Great video just like your others of the marella explorer and places you visited on your week in September 2018 , then the plane back to brum 🛫 we would of been on same flight back 🛫 after our 2 weeks on ship ⛴ same time as you .

Your so lucky . Lovely trip to the islands . I lived on St Martin's till 1987 and moved away because of nowhere to live and little work . I would love to go back one day . It's a long journey from South Wales and I couldn't do it without help as I have heart failure . But lovely lovely film .

Thank you for posting this, it brought back memories of idyllic childhood holidays spent on St Martins, staying at Mrs Webb's in Higher Town, from 1957 to 1959. The island itself hasn't changed, I could smell the bracken, the honeysuckle and the sea air, but it was a lot more "basic" in those days.There were no water sports or other tourist facilities and flower-growing was still a big industry. No pub - not that that bothered me, aged between nine and eleven! Though I did sample some of my Dad's Guinness, ordered from the off-licence on St Mary's and brought across on the inter-island ferry, with Mrs Webb's delicious lobster suppers! The only shop was the wooden shack which served as the Post Office and general store in Higher Town. We bathed from Great Bay, which would be deserted most of the time, except for the occasional passing day trippers who'd got that far from the launches from St Mary's. Some of those launches in your film seemed to be the same ones as we used to visit the other islands and the Western Rocks. Our black retriever Nicky was always the first aboard, and the first ashore on those trips, and we had to hold tight to his collar when we passed the seal colonies for fear he'd jump over the gunwale to make closer acquaintance! Nicky was the reason we had to cross to the Scillies by the "Scillonian II", the predecessor of the current ship, and equally a "great white stomach pump". (We only had one smooth crossing in three years, our return to Penzance in 1959). The air service, then provided by BEA using pre-War Dragon Rapide biplanes, did not carry animals. The food Mrs Webb served was to die for, she also ran the tea rooms in a barn at the back of the farm house, and her son John worked the farm, had lobster pots off of Par Beach, and took us out sea fishing in his boat. One evening the mackerel were "running" and the whole island seemed to be out in their boats. I had a hand-line with multiple hooks, which the fish seemed to throw themselves on to, it took longer to get them off the hooks in the boat than to catch more from over the side! We also tried rock fishing from the point below the Daymark, but seldom caught anything edible. I've often thought I should go back, but maybe it's better to remember the Islands as they were then, quiet and unspoilt before they got "discovered".

The "Scillonian" was "standing to" upwind of the damaged yacht and "offering a Lee" to break the wind and give temporary respite for the yacht crew whilst they were trying to recover damaged gear.

Dear Andy, Thank you for such a lovely, beautifully choreographed film and journey. We were supposed to be on the Marco Polo going up the Seine today but alas, with the coronavirus we are in self isolation for the forseeable future. It was just so lovely to have a virtual cruise and we really want to go to Honfleur! We have been to Norway on the Astoria which i believe is being replaced by a new bigger ship this year. We like the smaller boats. Thank you for putting this on you tube, and the music. What did you use to take photographs and video. ? best wishes Ruth and Michael
