I was at the UAB-MSU game. The crowd kept cheering at random times, I had no idea why. It was my first in person college football game. Only to find out, towards the end, they were cheering because App State, was beating Michigan! They kept putting the score on the board, and I got to listen to the end of the game on the way back to the car after MSU beat UAB 53-7 or something like that. I’ll never forget that, it was amazing!

That being said, a lot of Michigan fans pointed to that is the reason they lost like it was a tiebreaking score in the fourth quarter when it was in the second quarter. Michigan State had to complete three touchdowns and the two point conversions to make sure a field goal didn’t beat them. 2) the other team has better athletes because of UMs academic standards. I’ve heard this one quite frequently in the Ohio State debate but the fact is Michigan is never lacking in top-tier athletes or on the short end of recruiting visits. The talent is there, the coaching hasn’t been since Gary Moeller got fired.
