Before ordering your exhaust manifold be sure and check your manifold type. The details of my car pointed to the combination manifold catalytic that was expensive. After removing the heat shield over the manifold I discovered the two piece design, a much lower cost repair at $77 compared to roughly $500.

    You replaced a perfectly good ac unit.. Evap coil freeze up is not caused by needing recharged " that would cause it to NOT cool" . Your problem was your evap coil temp sensor not installed correctly or in the wrong location on the evap coil. This sensor senses ice on the evap coil and turnes off the compressor for a few minutes preventing coil freeze up and allows the coil to thaw and the ice "from humidity in the rv" to melt and drain outside automatically. The sensor is a thermistor bulb and should be located near the center of the evap coil and contacting the fins. On most units the coil sensor thermistor bulb is actually pushed in between the fins on the coil so it gets a good reading. This is a fairly common issue on advent units. Super easy fix. Move the sensor to the area that ices the most and reinstall the sensor there. Also on hot humid days, bring down the temp of the coach slowly allowing the unit to cycle to get all the humidity out of the coach which is the source or the ice.

    • @jonathanbohner
      @jonathanbohner 2 роки тому

      Thanks for your comment. Maybe the sensor was bad but it was in the correct location. Freeze ups were very often, the camper would have never cooled. The new unit doesn't freeze up, ever.
