The best value super shoe of 2024?! - KIPRUN KD900X LD
The KIPRUN KD900X LD is the newest carbon plated shoe on the market
from Decathlons running brand KIPRUN.
Coming it at just under £160 it is one of the more reasonably priced carbon plated shoes on the market and it was also the shoe that I ran my recent marathon PB in. The shoe features a new foam and a full length carbon plate and KIPRUN describe it as being a shoe that can break records.
Is this one of the best entry level carbon shoes on the market? Tune in to see how I go on.
Note - Although this review isn’t sponsored (all views are my own) I was gifted the shoes through a project with Meta Endurance and KIPRUN - huge thanks to both for my project London experience.

London marathon '24 - the debrief. Race stats, what went well and what MUST go better next time!
Переглядів 392Місяць тому
It is 3 weeks on from the London marathon 2024, my first goal race of the year. On paper it was a successful run, achieving a new PB, however, the outcome didn't quite align with the training block and I missed out quite significantly from the sub 3:45 dream! I headed out on my longest run since the marathon and I share on of the stats from the day, what went well and what I definitely need to ...
The HARDEST run of my life - London Marathon 2024
Переглядів 6 тис.Місяць тому
After a 16 week training block I took on my 3rd London Marathon and my 3rd marathon in 18 months. The 'A' goal was always sub 3:45, but with a less than ideal lead up I was on the struggle bus very early on... Huge thanks to MetaEndurnace for the Project London experience and the KIPRUN for my race gear. Music from #Uppbeat uppbeat.io/t/the-lakes/thrive License code: UKLA7EXHKD4ADZ68 uppbeat.io...

Today I head out on my last long run of the block and give a quick update on the training block to date and my final target for race day. I share some of the ups and downs of what has been a tricky training block, especially in these last 2 weeks. London... I am ready for you...well, kind of! Music from #Uppbeat (free for Creat...
Project London - 48 hours in Lille with KIPRUN and MetaEndurance
Переглядів 2283 місяці тому
The first chapter of Project London as part of the KIPRUN Running club. During this jam packed 48 hours I met up with the rest of the team in Lille. We visited the Decathlon SportsLab and Shoe Division, and completed some physiological testing, including foot morphology, running efficiency and we even had a go in the wind chamber. We also learnt all about the creation of the carbon plated shoes...

Nobody will buy that carbon plated shoe. At least who knows that other carbon plated shoes far superior than kiprun, from different Brands at the same price and even at lower prices( very common to find them 50% off, someting that doesn't happend at Decathlon ).
Yes, you can certainly get some good offers, especially if you wait for newer version to be released and can buy ‘last seasons’. I got a pair of Vaporfly for €60! 👏🏻👍🏻👌🏼 Thanks for watching.
Thank you for your honesty and taking the time to review this shoe. Have fun in Portugal.
Thank you! And thank you for watching. 😄
The running views! 🌲 🌄
Totally take it for granted! But really beautiful!
@@maisie_runs yeah and the location 😮💨😅😂
Big congrats.... I feel ya. I was broken this year after having done paris and boston 14 days earlier 😢. But i got incredible footage of the fans cheering the runners.... So that is a win😁👍
Oh wow, that’s incredible!! Well done, I honestly couldn’t imagine being capable of that 😂👏🏻
@@maisie_runs me too. Today i ran 20k and 5:15min/km was a struggle. Besides my recent boston and london videos, i usually walk over the line like i had a jog. It's all about volume mainly 👍👍
Decathlon sponsor?
Not a sponsored video, but I ran London as part of KIPRUN Running Club with the support of MetaEndurance, hence some of the products were gifted. 👌🏼
You need a pair of running glasses 😎 You correct yours 51 times in the first 5mins of the video 🙃
I really do! It’s so annoying isn’t it…my issue is that I have a small head AND I need prescription ones. I’ve been on the hunt for a while but haven’t found any yet that fit well and offer prescription lenses - any advice welcome from people 🙏🏻
@@maisie_runsGoodr are by far the best. No slip, no bounce etc and they’ve just started doing prescriptions 👌
Every finisher is a hero
We all have our highs and lows while (Marathon-) Training. 😊
100%! That is part of the beauty of it 👏🏻 - thank you for watching 😄
What a flat route marathon? Lol try the Comrades Marathon. Over 1100m elevation and 87km
I’d love to one day 🙂
jesus christ the amount of alphaflys hahaahahahaha
Absolutely crazy isn’t it. I actually had a little laugh to myself 😂😂😂😂 - thanks for watching 👏🏻🙏🏻
Congrats Maisie. Can you link your sunglasses ? Fab x ❤️
Thank so much! And thank you for watching 🙏🏻 They are Rayban, and not running sunglasses actually as they are prescription, but I actually quite like the style for running and they fit well so stay on. They are the ‘Wayfarer 2’ in tortoise 👌🏼
Incredible run Maisie! Particularly coming off the back of illness, you certainly didn’t have the best lead up to London. Super inspiring 🧡
Thanks Vikki! It certainly wasn’t the ideal lead up 😂 but I am so glad I still got do it! Thanks so much for watching and supporting 🫶🏻
Congratulations, smashed it 👌 Enjoy the recovery.
Thanks so much! Definitely making the most of it 🙏🏻👌🏼
Great video and congratulations on the PB! I love the marathon and have a dream of a sub-4 (5 hour 40 mins is my current PB), I'm definitely going to run London next year.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting - really appreciate it! That’s awesome, my dream was always sub 4 as well, it blows my mind I got there, it took a few attempts and many years! London is just the best, hope you get to experience it 👌🏼🙏🏻
You won the mental battle.
Yes, it definitely felt like this on the day! Thank you for watching.
Well done! How's running with a camera? Does it make it worse or take your mind of the running?
Thanks Ben! It was fine, for this video I used the small insta 360 so it’s tiny and fit in my front pocket. In terms of actually filming it was quite good as gave me something else to focus on and tick down the distance. For a 3:53 run I only filmed a few minutes of footage so it feels pretty minimal overall 😀
Well done Maisie! Hope you are enjoying your well deserved rest? 🎉
Thanks so much! Yes completely, I have had the most restful week ever and have absolutely LOVED IT! 😂 Although, I am looking forward to getting the running shoes on again soon 😃
@@maisie_runs no need to rush back Maisie! I took 10 days off from running off my marathon the other week, but it now feels good to be back! I’ve never tried Kiprun shoes and would take a lot to steer me away from Saucony and adidas
Well done Maisie. You actually look pretty good at the end -- I know you were saying how hard it was and all but from your form and everything you looked rock solid. Congrats on your race finish -- marathons simply never get easier. I've done a bunch of them and you just never know how they are going to go. It's been a while since I've done one but I'd love to do London some day (I live in the US though). Keep it up and I enjoyed your video.
Thanks Eddie - really appreciate your comments and thank you for watching. Externally I defiantly didn’t look to be struggling too much, I’ve done a lot of work on strength training the last 18 months which has definitely helped. The main issue I was having was really bad back/neck pain, which I’ve never had before and I think was more to the illness I had before the race. But you are so right, marathons never seem to get easier! London is just amazing and I really hope you get to experience it one day! Thanks again for your support 😁
UA-cam algorithm suggestion-->: What a surprise to see your lovely smile twice in two days. 👏🎬
Haha amazing! How funny is that! 👋🏻
My legs and Adios Pro 3 at @3:30 😂
Haha no way really, how on earth did you spot that, that’s so funny! 😂 You killed my ‘spot the vaporfly’ game with your Adios then 😂😂😂
@@maisie_runs yeah they’re not a common colourway and I spent an unreasonable amount of time in that queue 😂😂
Glückwunsch zum Zieleinlauf!
Danke schön! 😄
Congratulations on the PB. Just wondering what your max heart is?
Thank you! Honest answer here - I’m not completely sure. It has always been higher than the standard calculation, but I hadn’t seen it go above 200 for a good few years, but at one point in this race I saw 206! However, this was from a my Garmin without a HR chest strap, so I’ll take that with a pinch of salt. Although I can easily hit 190s in a tough interval session.
Congrats to us!!!!. Class of 2024. #LONDONE 🙌🏾🎉
Yesss! Amazing - well done to you too 🫡👏🏻🔥
wowww amazing ...
Thank you 😀
PB after being poorly 🎉🎉 well done 💪 Loved the spot the Alphafly game 😂
Thanks so much! Haha funny isn’t it, I didn’t event capture it well, but there were so many! Thanks so much for watching and supporting 🙏🏻👌🏼
A fast PB on the back of a two week sinus infection and no sleep and you STILL made it look effortless. The hardest part seemed to be getting down the stairs at the end. Congratulations on the PB AND defeating the stairs!
Haha thanks Gary! Definitely wasn’t effortless, but I’ll take it 😂👏🏻 and the stairs were definitely the worst bit! Thanks for watching 😀
well done. my friend dawn 32636 did the marathon first time 6 hrs 37 mins on ytube dawn evans London marathon winner
That’s amazing! Well done to Dawn, an amazing charity to run for too 🙏🏻
Well done 👍🏽
Thank you and thanks for watching 👌🏼
How anyone can talk, carry a camera, and smile while running a marathon aaandddd get a PB is beyond me. Congratulations! Thank you for taking us along your little stroll around London. I really do appreciate your making the effort in sharing with us your race experience with these videos.
Haha I think I would struggle more over a shorter distance with the filming and talking! To be honest it was a nice distraction at times! Thanks very much for the support and for watching the videos 🙏🏻
Simples Tom 😉
Fantastic Maisie you deserved that PB xx
Thanks Debbie, so pleased to have got round and the PB was amazing! 👌🏼🙏🏻 Thank you for watching xx
smashed it! congrats!
Thanks so much, much appreciated. And thanks for watching 👌🏼
Congrats on the Pb, great time!
Thank you, really pleased! And thanks for watching 🫡
Well done Maisie. Plenty of smiles throughout London and that final clip of you coming down steps giving flashbacks 😂
Thanks for watching Rob! Lots of smiles, definitely lots of grimacing not caught on camera! 😂 All good fun though eh!
Congratulations! Amazing time and effort not long after your illness! Well done :)
Thanks so much! Was touch and go, but seriously pleased I managed to keep it together!
Looking forward to seeing the video of how the marathon went Iv loved watching your training videos x
Thanks for following the journey Debbie! I’m sorting the footage now, hope to post it in a few days time ☺️🤞🏻
Congratulations on the Marathon! I bet it was nerve wracking in the run up to the big day, but what an amazing achievement! Can't wait to see the race day video! :)
Thank you so much Katie! The last few weeks I was super nervous! I’m sorting the race day footage now, so should be posted in a few days ☺️ thank you for watching! 🫶🏻
Where is your vest from ?
It’s from KIPRUN - although this particular one was bespoke for the event. But they may do other similar ones 🤞🏻
@@maisie_runs thank you! It looks sick, and well done on the marathon 👏
well done xxx
Thank you ☺️
Thanks for sharing. Seems way too busy for a day before running a long way. How was race day for you?
It was definitely quite a busy day and not what I’d usually like to do. Part of the problem was having to go to the expo Saturday. Last time I ran London I went on the Friday and stayed an extra night which gave me a lot more time to relax Saturday, so if I ran it again I’d do that. Race day went well, it was a very tough race, but came away with a PB - video coming soon if you are interested 😄👌🏼
@@maisie_runs that is superb Maisie, you are an absolute super star! At my age, if I done what you did on the Saturday, I would have had a challenge getting to the start on time 🤣 …. Looking forward to your race day video 👍🏼
Hope you had a great race 👌
Thank you! It was a tough one and had to dig very deep but very proud of how it went. Will get the video out soon if you are interested in how it went 😁
Ha i just ran up Brampton last night it's my local run it's decent because it's flat so you can just get on with it without cars and too many people during the week. I would say to just be careful in the evening's because there is sometimes neer do wells hanging about best not to go on your own.
Haha it’s my local route too, so you must be very close to me! Definitely always avoid it later in the evening/in the dark, but it’s great in the day time!
Thank you for the update. It sounds like you’re on your way to a nice recovery. More snuggle time with Riggs. Nothing left to do, but show up at the starting line. The plan is, there is no plan. Love this.
Thanks for watching! That’s it! Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻Riggs has been the best at looking after me!
Good luck for race day. Love running the london marathon. Going across the bridge at half way is always epic 👌
Ahhh tower bridge is just out of this world isn’t it! So excited, thank you 👏🏻🤞🏻
Great vlog! Good luck - I’m aiming for a similar time on the day, so may see you smashing the sub 3:45! 😊
Thanks so much for watching! Ah that’s awesome, see you there 👋🏻 hope your training is going well!
Kendal mint gels are brilliant. The citrus and mint and raspberry and mint gels are so refreshing and easy on the stomach
Oh thanks for the tip, I’ll give those a go! Love the sound of those flavours!
That downward dog pose that greets you at the front door is the perfect finish. #moreriggs
Isnt it the best! He pretty much always does it! 🥹
Love your videos very informative:) your dog is so cute 🥰
Oh no!
Devastated 😅😂
