Hey, I'm Maisie! I have been running for 10+ years and I am sharing my running journey with training and race vlogs. I have recently ticked off marathon number 5 and my 3rd world major marathon. On to major number 4 in 2025...
I'm running the 2025 Tokyo marathon - my fourth world major marathon!
Ok, the Berlin marathon may have only been 5 weeks ago, but plans for my next marathon are well under way!
Today I headed out for my longest run since Berlin. I cover a brief summary of Berlin and shared my training plans for my fourth world major, how I got in and what my target is.
I will be documenting and sharing my journey to Tokyo 2025, so please subscribe to follow along.

The 50th anniversary of the Berlin Marathon and this was a very special one for me. My 5th marathon, 3rd world major and a HUGE PB for the books. In the video I capture the whole of race day; the lead up, journey to the start, the race itself and the aftermath. 3/6 world majors now ticked off...the question is, what's next?! Taking on a 10k run in the Mile High city, Denver, Colorado. How hard can it be running that high above sea level? Well, for some, perhaps very easy, but when you are used to running in the UK and have only landed 48 hours before the race, let me tell you, it is pretty tough! I did come away with a pleasant surprise at the end though, watch the video to see how I got on! Music from #Uppbeat upp...

Chicago marathon recovery training vlog and what's next!
What are the odds!! Incredible! Tokyo will be star 6 for me so I’ll be trying for 2026 🤞🤞 I hope I have the same luck as you 😬😬 Back to Boston in April in the meantime (my absolute favourite of all the marathons)!!
Will have my fingers crossed for you and I’ll send some of my luck your way 😅😂 0.04% chance apparently?! Ah exiting, Boston is on my bucket list 🫶🏻🤞🏻thanks for watching!
Works out around 1 in 2,500 chance of you both getting in (0.04%).. Good going!
Hahah amazing! Love that, thanks for working it out! We certainly feel very lucky. Thanks for watching and commenting ☺️
Very Nice your video reals 🎉

Hi🎉Deare friend
I got Chicago and Berlin on first tries, but I must've used up all my luck because it has been nothing but goose for other majors. Good luck and enjoy Tokyo !
Wow, that’s pretty good going! I hope the luck comes back your way 🤞🏻 thank you and thanks for watching 😃
Congratulations to you both! That is some amazingly low percentage chance but you have given me hope in run ballots after failing for London time and again! All you can do is train. I have three marathons in the spring so understand your thoughts on winter training. Keep up your progress but don’t forget strength and conditioning.
Thanks so much! It’s crazy isn’t it - I got into London via the ballot last year after 10+ years of entering! Good luck with your winter training, always tough isn’t it - we got this 💪🏼 and S & C is a non negotiable twice weekly at a minimum for me! Thanks for watching and your comment 😃
Congratulations! If it wasn't for the qualifying time I'd say just take it easy and enjoy the run, don't chase a new PB. But under this circumstances go for it! 💪 Wish you all the best! But anyway have fun and enjoy!
So tricky isn’t it! I’ll call it closer to the time for sure, but right now I’m feeling fit and want to roll with the momentum! I’ve ran a few for easier/fun over the years, but feel like going for it this time! Let’s see how the block goes! Thanks for watching and commenting 😃
Wishing you both all the best. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
Thanks so much! Both very excited 😃 - thanks for watching.
Unbelievable luck to both get in,no idea what those odds would be! Having the means to be able to do it is i am guessing nothing to do with luck and probably worked hard to be in that position, enjoy it and do as much as you can whilst you can. Sometimes circumstances rather than cashflow restrict us, and you will still have those memories and some of us that can't do this kind of thing for whatever reason will enjoy the experience through your blog hopefully without any envy!
So true and a very kind view of this thank you. I struggle sharing some of this, as I know for many it is out of reach - for various reasons. But thank you for your kind comment 👌🏼🫶🏻
I loved Berlin and Sevilla
Berlin was awesome - Sevilla also sounds amazing!
Lowkey question, the sunglasses are for looks, to avoid insects in your eyes or some other reason?
Haha well, it was kind of sunny when I left so I committed to the sunglasses! My prescription glasses also constantly fall off my nose while I am running so also for vision and so I’m not constantly pushing my glasses up the bridge of my nose while I’m recording! 😂😅
@@maisie_runs I see, thank you!
Great result. I dream of sub 4 lol
Thank you! It was a big goal for me! Got there after a few attempts. It took me years to run a sub 2 hour half marathon, so still can’t believe I can do that back to back! Thanks for watching 😃 I hope you get your sub 4 dream one day!
hey, waiting for a new video here😂
Haha sorry - very soon! 😮💨😂
I wish (affordable) drones were invented already that can follow you around, dodge barriers like tree branches and other drones, with long battery life and quiet, so that people/runners don't waste their energy on carrying filming gear.
Everybody's a gangsta until they run their first marathon :)
😅😅😅
Wow 182 average HR is wild for 4h, super impressive that you managed to hold that
Well done Maisie! How you feeling now?
Thank you! Feeling great, I’ve done a 3 week recovery plan and ready to get going stuck in with more structured training again next week! 🥳👌🏼
@@maisie_runs boom! What next for you?
Love the tips BUT I love the dog even more ❤
Aww I agree, he is the best! 🥰🥰🥰
alternative vaporfly lol
Do you think so? 😮💨😅
Which sunglasses are those ?
They are Oakley - style is Resistor. Mine are youth fit as I have a small head 😂 but just had a look and they do adult too! 😂👏🏻
Well done. What a fantastic day and result. As someone who can just about drag his aged carcass around a 5 or 10k race circuit, I am in awe of real runners like you. 💪
If you run you are a runner 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 but thank you. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. 😃😄😃
the "focused on rehydrating" and the accompanying clip is the larger 😂
Yeah - let’s be honest it’s not my strong point 😂😮💨 next marathon is March, do I go sober for the training block?!? 👌🏼😂
congrats on a superb run. nice video also:)
Thanks so much - so kind! Thank you for watching and commenting too 🙌🏼😃
Haste jut jemacht! 🥳 ('Well done' in Berlinerisch)
Danke!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Thank you for watching and commenting 😃
You should use your partner as a wind blocker! He looks to have the build for it 😂
Hahaha very good point. He was too quick for me on this occasion 👎🏻😂
Huge congrats!!!!!!🎉. You did amazing! 💯. I hope to get into the lottery for 2025!. Keep improving and smashing it!. Go Maisie 🏆
Thanks so much! It was such an amazing race/event. Thanks for watching and commenting - fingers crossed for the ballot for you! 🤞🏻🤞🏻
I've just started running (super slow) & this has inspired me. Many congratulations! 🎉
Ah wow, that’s epic! Good for you, hope you are enjoying it. Always very hard at the start, took me years to really enjoy it 😂😂
Wild how you look exactly the same before and after 😂
Haha I definitely did up close, the camera was kind to me 😂😂
Holy moly, what a time! Aiming for 3h45 and going 3h30 is insane
Thank you! My training had been a bit of a strange block so it was hard to know what was within reach, but 3:30 was definitely a shock! Thank you for watching 😃
Do you have other marathons planned already? There are European Championships in Belgium in April 2025. It won't be as big as the major marathons, but it could still be a fun event. I'm just mentioning it since the marathon finishes in my hometown, and I'll be doing the half marathon there since I recently picked up running. 😅
Amazing run, Super well done.
Thank you so much! And thank you for watching/commenting 😃
Wowww huge congratulations! I think you can easily run faster!! Ps: new follower now😉
Do you think so!? Hopefully! Maybe aim for a 3:25/3:20 next! Thanks very much for watching 😃
@@maisie_runs yess sub 3:25 easyyy
great video In NZ we've got a couple of club runs that go through spooners tunnel 1400m long with a kink so you can't see both ends at the same time
Ahh wow! Very spooky, not sure I’d like that 😂 thank you for watching!
I wonder if anyone ran the marathon without posting or vlogging about it? Like just a raw dog full dark send.
I’m sure many thousands did 😂 I enjoyed capturing my day! Didn’t feel that it took away too much from a ‘full send’ - but agree it’s alway good to race some without any distraction like this!
Very well done! Negative splits for the entire first half and a strong finish. 👏🏻
Thanks so much! Didn’t quite have the last push I hoped for, but on balance very happy with how I paced and executed it 😃 thanks for watching and commenting. 🙌🏼
Congratulations!!!
Thanks so much!!
Agree with everyone that the chip time here counts! I think that for the shorter races(5/10k), the gps will cut the corners and turns some and result in an underestimate of the true distance. So, unless the course seems severely short, I'll accept the official result. Enjoying the videos!
So helpful thank you! Sometimes it works in your favour and sometimes it works against you, but I agree - chip time all the way! Thank you for watching/commenting and sharing your thoughts 😃🙏🏻
Great job! Running chicago in 4 days and this was so inspiring!
Ah I’m so excited for you - have you ran it before? I did Chicago last year and it was my favourite race ever!! Good luck for it, I hope you have a blast. And thank you for watching and commenting 😄
Great vid Maisie ❤
So kind - thank you! It really makes it worth taking the time to capture the day with comments like that! Thank you for watching 😃
Well done. You made it look easy. Controlled run.
Thank you - looking back I felt the same. The last 10k was tough, but to be expected. Thank you for watching and commenting 😃🙏🏻
Congratulations!!! Great PB, Nice movie ;)
Thanks so much! And thank you for watching and commenting - always makes capturing the day worth it! 😄
Congrats!!! I ran that marathon in 2021 and loved it!!!! I'm trying next year
Thank you - it’s such a great race and event isn’t it! Fingers crossed for you for next year! Thanks for watching and commenting 😃
I have to admit...I got a little sad for you when there was nobody to hug after such a tremendous performance and nobody to celebrate with....I wish I was there for you!!!🌹🌹...Stride On!!!👋👋😃
Haha don’t worry! As soon as I clicked my phone off I saw someone I knew immediately!! Which was good timing! Thank you for watching and commenting 😃
Congratulations!
Thank you so much 😃
As someone who has celebrated all their PB's alone 17:30 hit hard, congrats on your PB! That was in fact a well ran race by you, very mindful through the whole thing and well executed.
That hit me too. At the time but also when watching it back to be honest. That’s so kind thank you - and for watching and commenting.
Class running, respect 😊
Thank you! And thanks for watching/commenting 🙌🏼😃
Such a heartwarming video. So well pacewed. You should be so very proud, amazing p.b. You looked in such control. 3.15 is well on the cards.
Ah such nice comments - thank you! Watching it back I felt the same and thought wow could I have done more! But I didn’t film to last 10k to be fair 😂 3:15 would be incredible! I’m going to push for 3:25 first 😃👌🏼thanks for watching!
@maisie_runs My pleasure. First time watching. Like I said you looked well within yourself. So 3.15 is definitely on the cards. Keep up the training and try and stay injury free. Good luck👍
Amazing running! Unreal PB, well done! 🔥🏃♂️
Thanks so much, still can’t quite believe it!🔥🚀🔥 and thanks for commenting and watching 😃
