It's crazy to imagine they used ammonium carbonate instead of baking soda. Its not edible on its own, right?
I don't think it's edible on its own. It irritates sinus if enhailed and leaves respiratory side effect according to online sources...
Great aircraft and great landing

How can you use reverse thrust on a gravel runway without it throwing up small rocks????
Hi, I am not an expert on aviation but the those engines are modified with what they call vortex dissipators, using compressor bleed air, in front of each engine. If you look for images of B737-200 with gravel kit, you will see a metal bar hanging underneath each engines. My understanding is the metal bar has a nozzle that shoots off air with high pressure that keeps foreign objects(gravel) from going into engines upon take off and landing... Thank you for watching.
여자들보다 살림꾼이시네요
that looks amazing! love the classic!!
Thanks for watching:)
Great video, beautiful plane......thank you for the upload!
Thanks for watching:)
좋아요

시청해 주셔서 감사합니다
That red and black wing make it look like your flying in a spy jet or something!!
Thanks for watching. Google 'Chrono Aviation' to find out more about the aircraft.-)
@@shan1474 You're welcome!
If Eastern Air Lines was still around the shuttle would still be flying them. Loved that bird and EAL too
Old School Boeing sure knew how to make an impressive wing. Ya know, back when engineers designed airplanes instead of accountants
One of the truly great aircraft! Eastern Airlines flew them! Taken many a trip on an Electra. Loved the sound of the turbo props. Oh! it wasn’t cramped like today’s cattle trucks! People dressed up to fly and the crew were always helpful! The passengers would never think of fighting or being disruptive, it did happen occasionally not almost every day as now!
Thank you for watching and sharing your memories
I have flown on Air New Zealand's 737-200's since a toddler. My last flight in one was from Dunedin to Wellington back in 1995. They were replaced with the -300's. The 737-300 was a great aircraft but I do miss that unmistakable whine of the JT8D's on start up and the thrust reversers on landing. Good memories.
Thank you for sharing your memories
This was an ex Kiwi bird too, sooooo good seeing this old gear still splitting clouds 💪🏻✈️👏🏻
Was that Canadian North? I'm a former Air Canada employee. Never got to the Northern territories. Beautiful video.👍
Chrono Aviation. They only do charters to Nunavut. They are based at YHU. Thank you for watching
First plane I flew in was an Electra. Non stop from Phoenix to Nashville in 1961. I was 6 years old. Operated by American Airlines.
Thanks for watching and sharing your memory.
Sounds like someone extended the flaps at too high a speed at 1:32 🤣
What a big beautiful babe. The turboprops make my hair stand on end! Gah-gah!
Thanks for watching!
Love the bucket reversers!
Thank you for watching!
my first flight ever was on one of these with Ansett ANA, Melbourne to Sydney in Jan. 1962. unforgettable!
Thank you for watching and sharing your memory
hey a lot of great things came out of 1959!!!!
😁😁😁
This is an aircraft operated by Chrono Aviation. The operator is contracted out by Baffinland to transport workers to their Iron Ore mine in northern Baffin Island in Nunavut. The community the plane is landing in is called Mary River and is insanely remote! I worked in Iqaluit, Nunavut, and would see these beautiful jets come in and out. The plane lands in Iqaluit to refuel and have enough fuel left over for the return leg because there aren't that many facilities at the makeshift airfield in Mary River. Montreal to Iqaluit is about 3 hours, and onto Mary River is another hour and 45 mins farther north!
In 1977 I flew on Boeing 737-200 combies between Anchorage and King Salmon, Alaska. They were flown by Wien Air Alaska airlines and I was stationed at the Air Force radar site at King Salmon. The front portion of the aircraft was for cargo, and it had a large cargo door on the left side, The rear portion was for passengers. It was quite an unusual aircraft to fly on.
This airframe is basically same. They can modify the size of passenger cabin according to their business demand in this case.
Is this one ex-mandala airlines from indonesia right?
www.planelogger.com/Aircraft/Registration/C-FZCS/780789 Please click on the link above to find out more about former registration of this airframe. I don't think it served with Mandala airlines though.. Thank you for watching.
@@shan1474 thank you sir
Had more flights than I care to recall on 737-200, an amazing aircraft and the baby-Boeing will always be a favourite!
I made two round trips on this particular airplane. That was the only time I have ever been on B737-200. I was lucky to capture this footage. My first B737 was 400 variant back in 1989. Thanks for watching and share your memories!
That red on black livery makes it look like the A-Team van with wings. Looks pretty cool, but I doubt B.A. Baracus would approve ;)
Pilot is captain Murdock 😂
He pitty this fooo 😅
My first airplane as Copilot! Varig Airliners, in February 1990, PP-VJW. A Wonderful Machine!!!
Thanks for watching and sharing your memory!!
Not often you see a commercial jet with a wing painted black. I know some military planes have black painted wings but cannot recall a commercial jet having something like it.
One of the viewers mentioned the wings should be left naked or painted white. Another viewer gave me the answer for it. The reason is the fuel inside the wings can expand in volume if the wings are painted black under hot weather condition while on the ground. This particular airplane flies only between Montreal and North of arctic circle. I guess black paint job doesn't actually matter in this case... Thank you very much for watching!!
@@shan1474 I doubt it really makes that significant of a difference.. Also it all should be allowed by the aviation regulator anyway then I guess..
Nice video!🙏🏼
Obrigado!
Awesome colour scheme
Nice Electra take off shot! Thanks for sharing. I flew round trip on a SAHSA (Servicio Aereo de Honduras, S.A. or "Stay at home, stay alive") back in June-July 1976 from New Orleans, Louisiana to Managua, Nicaragua and back. It was the only international, four engine propeller, airliner flight I ever made.
Thank you for watching. Wonder if there's a 4 engine prop. passenger aircraft these days. 🤔🤔
@@shan1474 Perhaps there are a few four engine, turbo-prop, De Havilland of Canada, Dash 7's out there still earning their keep?
I love the sound of these baby's. I live in Williams Lake BC and the Electra is here frequently during fire season. Everytime it goes over I stop what I'm doing and take it in. Maybe I can convince them to take me for a ride some time.
Thanks for watching. It should be a busier fire season this year than the last.
amazing footage - its wild thinking that the 737 max was a derivative of this guy.
Thank you for watching
Much closer than most people would think
@@rkan2 he made a joke...
Fabelhaft
Danke
Merci pour la Vidéo :) J'avais reconnu le 737 de Chrono Aviation, noir comme ça, pas le choix!
Merci
I like the way Chrono Avaition made this 737-200 combi look like a work of art with its’ cool black and red trim livery.
Yes, definitely a unique livery.
My mom worked for EAL back in the day, and we often flew on the Electra. Great plane for its time. And yes, back then the airlines treated each passenger like they were special, not just cattle.
Better than max
Safer than the Max too, at least it never got grounded!
@leathomas9983 no it was actually more dangerous when it had thw faulty rudder PCUs. The issue with the MAX could have been avoided by selecting flaps 1 had they known as that would shut MCAS off.
Looks like a thunderstorm in the background.
This was in Canada in summer months. Typical type of cloud formation with some downpour quite often in summer here. Thanks for watching!!
watch some episodes of Plane savers.. they not only fly electras but DC3's and Curtis commando C46's on daily routes no matter the artic temp.. a plane manufacturer was doing cold weather soak testing on a brand new design jet plane a few years ago.. as they are starting up.. here lands a Curtis C46 back from its daily cargo run at -45C all the cylinder still firing.. props still turning.
Thanks for watching. I should check that out.
smooth landing,,,,impressive.....
Hosers are good at maintaining old aircraft... The wing is always interesting, because you can see and hear the flaps, watch the wing disassemble itself, watch reverse thrusters, etc.
Yes, I agree.
I grew up close enough to O'Hare International Airport to watch thousands of planes ascending and descending. They were often so close that conversations had to be curtailed until the roar abated. Even with all the new models of jet airliners being introduced over the years, the Electras remained my favorite. They were unique and I never tired of watching them. Maybe I was just imagining things, but they seemed to be a lot more merciful on the ears. The Lockheeds were certainly more graceful in the air and I loved watching them bank as they approached for a landing.
Thank you very much for sharing your memories.
Very *first airplane that I flew on as a kid in 1967!!!* Amazing to see one still flying. Will never forget the "scoop" on top of the engines and the WIDE propellers...
Good olden days. Thanks for sharing your memories from the era that I never get to see.... ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Yes, they always looked more like paddles than propellers to me!
@@donaldstanfield8862 Good point... LOL
