Lyrics:
Here Come the Wolves
They're coming with their torches, they're coming with their verse
They're coming with a single glassy eye
Into the echo chamber
A crowd begins to form
So crowded you can't even see the sky
Here Come the Wolves
They're coming for your children
They're coming for your rights
They're coming with their Jesus and their goons
And then the shore will wither
And then the roads will pitch
Sound the drum, for they are coming soon
Here Come the Wolves
He is a wild pony, she is a wild horse
Together they will race to stem the tide
Into the hidden caverns
Into the sunken hills
Unplug the world and follow us inside
Wires needled under skin
Connect to Mothership
Treadmill living makes us strong
We're healthy but we're sick
Here Come the Wolves
Beauty born in poverty
Dreams die on the hill
From our knees, yes pretty please
Administer the pill
Feed our master, feed him faster
Work, then drink, then sleep
When I'm done, lost and numb
Begin me another week.
Here Come the Wolves
In the evening I'm tired of walking, I go down to the river and I think about nothing
I sit down and I try to figure why I followed myself down here
There were times when things were better and times when things were worse
In the evening I'm tired of working, I go down to the river and I think about nothing
I was thinking on the back of a stone, I was thinking 'bout leaving, I was thinking 'bout home
I think of you when I wanna remember what it felt like to be free
Deep in the valley, up the mountain, beyond the river clear
In the evening I'm tired of working, I go down to the river and I think about nothing

Still making it happen!!
Oh Martin... what have they done to you?? 😭😭
Artwork on your album covers is always very impressive thank you
Who wrote this? I lived in Van for 25 years, crossed the bridge, got caught in the clouds and breathed in the salty rain. When the tide was out, I saw the high trees in the Endowment and the eagles off the banks. This song sounds like it saw that too, wandered the under the cedar and took Naam Tea to Banyen.
that was amazing.
Great tune.
Still blowing my mind you guys ❤ never sounding better 🤪 amazing cast of talent 😮 and still heart-throbs each and every one of you 😂 I’ll be 61 on Friday 🫣😅🥳🤓🤘🏽✌🏼🎸
Long live the most underrated Canadian band ever !
The greatest band in Canada second to Rush . Love you Dave Clark , my greatest influence.
I'm a Vancouverite born and raised, and I'm currently living across the pond in Britain. This song brings me so much comfort. I listen to this song and I'm transported to a time driving down Highway 1 or walking the Seawall. Thank you Rheostatics, from the bottom of my heart. I needed this.
Great Canadian icon band
So glad to hear new music from you guys again! I miss my letter and post card correspondence with Dave. Way back when we used to converse in postcards from around the world. I used to write to you all - miss you guys!
Saw them at Stan fest. Nicest guys ever. I walked by Tim Vessy and he said hi to me before I could say hi. Humble, amazing awesome music
I also semi stalked them....
Anyone notice that's the cover of Melville in the background, left side of the image.
Love the patience as it grows in dynamics.....super zesty.
Every time I play this song on my shows the reviews are 100% positive
Until this very moment I never realized how much wolves can sounds like whales.
Love you guys! So glad to see you're back. Santa brought me your new album for Christmas - it's excellent. :)
I just got in from the hectic that is the Holidaze at a local mall....I had to immediately get this song playing, as it begged at my voice to scream it aloud while amidst the hungry shoppers and the tack holiday tunes...I Am so Grateful for this song, these wonderfully talented, Bright Men and the entire Rheostatics catalogue of music!! A Band like no other to me...Timeless appreciation for what you give us Rheoheads! Thank you Guys! Oh, and Merry Christmas! ;)
Thanks for the effort all these years.
Nice Alex Coleville reference on the Album Cover-it's an obvious homage to the great Canadian artist's work, namely the iconic surrealist masterpiece "Horse and Train". And one of the hills in the background is the sea creature from the cover of "Melville"! Damn, I missed these guys!
Another masterpiece. Plucked my brain right out of my head.
Really nicely done, fellas.
Welcome back, gentlemen! Glad to hear you again!
This song is beautiful. Greetings from Mexico :)
Its been over a decade since I was addicted to a Rheostatics song, but here I am again, addicted to this song.
gorgeous dreamy song with an edge, pulls you in and keeps you absorbed all the way to the end, definitely eager to listen to the rest of the album 💙 x
J’adore! Merci pour le chef-d’œuvre!
It's like mayonnaise for my ears!
Yup.
So great! I just watch this over and over. And Kevin plays us out beautifully.
Great ending with Kevin.
I can't like this enough.
Dig it.
this just made my life 🙏🙏🙏 hearing your music was always my fuel and inspiration to go out into the world and do something unique 🙏🙏🙏 thank you guys for being consistently amazing and unique 🙏🙏🙏 hearing this has been a very special moment and milestone in my life. Congratulations to you guys on your continuously amazing artistic adventures as a band, as individuals and as ambassadors of fearless creativity!
Like the best chili you ever ate, or maybe your favorite blanket. Essential comfort at it's very best.
Such an incredible band, criminally, obscenely unknown - outside of Canada I mean - . They give me nostalgia for the great open spaces of Northern America. I don't know if they're a bunch of shamans, but at the very least they're Class A bards I wish Martin Tielli was my uncle, what a fucking beautiful soul every note and sound coming from him is out of this world
Victor Niquel yessssss
@@meganstacey1140 i don't like herb tarlek video.
@@michaelguerrieri3486 the guy from wkrp? I don’t get it.
@@meganstacey1140 I don't like the ending of the music video were. every one becomes Herb tarlek
Usually get some tears by the third act. Wonderful stuff and such a gift.
It's exactly how you'd hope they'd sound. Comforting.
You're huge in South Van. Not big on long distance relationships tho. When's the tour?
Wonderful, Dave and Martin sound great
Tim as well.
And Kevin is a national treasure.
Mark Achtenberg I went to see there “final” show years back and I remembered Martin have some issues with his voice.
@@EddieEnglander Let's hear it for Tim. 👍
@@mowler8042 Laryngitis. The whole band is great. First time met them Dave Clark was the first one to say 'Hi, I'm Dave'. I do like them better than the Beatles or in the same way I suppose. There is always a surprise in the music. The whole first act of the song is unexpected. As my friend Adam Crossley said. Epic.
Nice work you men & women. & people.
I dig the "Molly's Reach" t-shirt, Martin! At first, I thought it was a super-obscure reference to the old Edmonton-based pop-rock band, but the Beachcombers thing works too haha
layered, textured, smart, this is Rheostatics rock and roll at its finest. This album is already a goldmine.
Its gonna be a great month, Hoping they get to the maritimes if they decide to tour
Please, please, please tour in BC
Love from Toronto - can't wait to hear this new wonderful record!
