Iam thinking about removing the snorkel for more air intake, but some people saying that the snorkel is there so the air that goes in is colder . My question is is it better to leave it in or take it out ?
@@alonpery392 thanks for reaching out! From the research I’ve conducted there are some tradeoffs. The longer snorkels give the air more time to settle, so when it passes through the throttle body, it’s not vortexing and is more stable getting better air to fuel mixing. On the other hand it’s slightly more restrictive. I couldn’t tell you what’s best for results. Probably also depends if your racing it or not.
Brother ive just watched 3 of your videos and they are very helpfull as i just bought an r7 in similar condition. Nice job mate 👍
Does it matter what year tube bro
Hey mate thanks for watching! Im not entirely sure. I used the 2017-2020 model ones, however I am doing a lot of research in this area right now for a new build 👀 and everything seems pretty compatible.
Hi do you remember what part number them replacments they are please???
Hey mate, here is the links for the left and a right. japan.webike.net/products/24682762.html japan.webike.net/products/24310975.html let me know if you cant find. Yamahapartsonline.com is a good place for schematics of parts. just remember its Australian. not sure where your located.
@@DunBeBuilds ive only see a few people do this your the only one who answered me so seriously thank you so so so much for your help very cool of you enough respect..
how much did it cost to fix the front end? i did something similar to my bike
Mine didnt cost that much as i found a stay very cheap and the front fairing was $150 new. Gets expensive quick if you need any of the lights or light control unit. All the lights and controller is around $2.5k all new. All up i probably spent $250 but i didnt need alot of stuff as its for track.
Motion pro the $10 Amazon one?
No factory 2022 r6 tube
Hey im also rebuilding mine right now. Do you know the name of the plastic part or part number at 6:12?
Also how did you bend stay 1? if you did.
When will the new video come?
Hey mate thanks for watching! I have done all the filming for this build, the anniversary and a whole new build! just need to find time to edit it. Hopefully not too long.
@@DunBeBuilds I hope you will publish your videos soon
bike It looks incredibly complicated.
woow
I saw your video by chance and I was surprised that you got so few views, you are doing a great job bro, keep going upp 💛
Thank you! Much appreciated mate!
What website do you use for parts?
I used Webike in japan as it was cheaper then most factory yamaha shops in AUS. i did use yamahapartsonline.com to get some things, however mainly used their schematics online.
Awesome videos man I’ll definitely be using this to rebuild mine as well
Love these vids. We need part 6 ASAP keep em coming 👍🏽
when replacing the snorkels did you find that they had already been modified/tampered with to be less restrictive? just wondering if it is absolutely necessary to buy new snorkels of if you can cut the stock ones to do the same job
So i had already purchased the HO snorkels. In hindsight I would have just cut the Lams ones (as it appeared previous owner had done) for the anniversary build and then just got the HO ones for the track bike where im chasing max performance. I think relatively the same result would have been achieved.
awesome, thanks for clearing that up.
Time to pull a chase with the new throttle tube
Do you need the take the throttle body off in order to get the airbox out? I’m installing the Yoshimura airbox
Yes you do. There is no other way. Its relatively quick to do, maybe 15mins. just remember to unclip all plugs on the throttle body
thank you for posting again <3
No problem 😊. currently editing about 5 more episodes!
@@DunBeBuilds Cant wait!! Ive almost finished my white r7 rebuild c:
Been loving the series, just bought a wrecked white r7. Do you have discord incase i might need some help with my rebuild?
Thanks Mate! I do but don't use it much. Feel free to send me an email and will answer to the best of my ability. dunbebuilds@gmail.com
Thanks will do! just waiting on my lower triple tree to arrive!@@DunBeBuilds
Will it pass the road worthy test ? If I’m on my re and I have a yzf r7 ho . No one will notice right ?
Yes, it should pass the roadworthy as they don’t dive that deep. I haven’t gotten it yet tho. Your RE license doesn’t affect what you can register under your own name. You could have 1000 cc registered under your name even when you’re on your learners but obviously you’re not allowed to ride it. If you have a factory r7 HO the police will easily know as it’s attached to the number plate and will show as HO however, a modified LAMS bike will still come up as LAMS, even if it’s been modified. Does that help?
@@DunBeBuildsthank yes it does
Do you need a soft pull spring?
Nope, just ya hands!
I’m installing the robem triple on my R7 and this just helped a lot! Great video!
Thank you! Appreciate you watching!
Nice project!💪🏻👌🏻
Thanks mate! Will definitely be a challenge, but I have some very cool things on the way for it.
Do you happen to have the torque specs for the for clamps? I read 18 ft lbs but seems excessive
There is a shop manual available online which gives all the torque specs.
Put some shoes on.
Dont you like my long toes?
Can you inserit link for buy a snork?
Sure. There is two left and a right. japan.webike.net/products/24682762.html japan.webike.net/products/24310975.html
Do you have to program it aswell?
Assuming your talking about ECU flashes and tunes. If you do everything I have yes its highly recommended. If you just do air filter and plate, not the airbox snorkels you dont have to do it. You will get about 5hp gain by doing just that, but with ecu flash you can get 30-40hp gain.
@@DunBeBuildsLAMS config- 42hp / fully de-restricted-70hp = 28hp total, thats it, not 40hp gain. do ur numbers, use dyno, not fairy tales......
@@needtoknow3168 👍🏼 next time I’ll include decimals just so I’m 100% accurate and not telling fairy tales
Hey thanks for the video, where did you get the part from ? And what’s the part number if available
Hey mate bought from webike. Don’t know the part number sorry. It’s the 2017 r6 tube
That’s unfortunate man. Same happened to mine and I’m getting it assessed this week. Looks like you low-sided into a left hand corner? 😢
I bought this one from an auction, however was able to get in contact with previous owner. Apparently a mate of his took it for a spin and sent it off a cliff!
The lower ring nut first need to torque to 52 nm and loosen it and then to 18 nm for the lower bearing to seeze in
Thank you. I will need to buy the tool first.
hey dude great video, where is the parts from?
Hey mate! bought most parts from Webike Japan and some from ebay. Hope that helps!
@@DunBeBuildsis that cheap?

Can't you call a locksmith for unlocking the cylinder?
