I learned Dutch in a hostel in Montenegro
Of course, "I learned dutch" is a loose term... but thank you to my friend Noë for teaching me some basic dutch terms and the alphabet. It is such a fun language.
This video is wayyyy overdue but it is finally here! Back in May of 2023, I spent some time in the beautiful country of Montenegro. We last left off driving away from Dubrovnik. I took a bus to Budva and stayed at a hostel near the sea for a few nights. I got a tattoo, swam in the ocean a bunch, and played cards on the beach with new friends. From there, I took another small bus to Ulcinj - a smaller town in the south of Montenegro, just bordering Albania (my next stop!). I stayed at the coolest hostel there and went on a boat/cliff diving tour, explored abandoned buildings, and biked through the countryside.
I really loved Montenegro and the people that I met there - I can't wait to go back.
Anyway please enjoy this little compilation of some lovely captured moments from this leg of the trip.

spending my 27th birthday in the balkans

This was filmed almost a year ago now! During a gorgeous week in May (my birthday week), I had the pleasure of spending around 6 days in Sarajevo. It is a very special place with a very special aura. I felt so calm wandering around the valley. Every day I ate cevapi and/or burek. And on my birthday I got a massage and spent the day wandering around the city. And I met so many wonderful people! ...
I went to Serbia to buy perfume
Переглядів 14 тис.Рік тому
Sooooo I ventured east and spent 10 days in Belgrade, Serbia back in May 2023. Buying perfume was not my main mission, but I did spend 2 days on the task, so I guess it was a vital piece of the trip. If you're interested in going to buy perfume in Belgrade (and I would HIGHLY recommend it thank you Malcom for sending me here btw), here is the IG: @parfimerija_sava I really did like Belgrade and...
how to spend a few days in Bologna

A quick one this week! I spent a few very sweet days in Bologna this past Spring. I met new friends, wandered the city, went to an art museum, and had some wonderful local food. I felt so pulled in by this city, even though it rained almost every day that I was there. Maybe I felt at home because of that lmao. much loooove, maddie
how to spend a month in italy

Hello friends we are back this week with a short little vlog of handpicked moments from a savory month in Tuscany. It turns out we didn't do much other than hang out with animals, go on walks, and bask by the river but what more could we ask for!? In April 2023, Ana and I had the pleasure of returning to the same small tuscan mountain town that we had inhabited the year before. We got to visit ...

part 2 of a little roadtrip / camping trip that my friend Ana and I went on :) We started at Lake Crescent and continued driving toward the coast of Washington, then drove past Forks and found a nice little spot on some National Forest land. We set up camp for a few days, waded in the river, hammocked and painted, and made little day trips to Rialto Beach and Cape Flattery. A lovely time chapte...

Nice vid. Sad youre destroying your body with tattoos.
Fix your color saturation and you will get WAY more views! :) (Your lens might also need some polishing)
I realized after that so much of my footage was blurry 😭 so sad but oh well ! working on learning color grading next

Wow, artistic video! Cool. Look maps.app.goo.gl/jcCp7eRiEE6WGe2C9 it's this building and that only ship window (round window) on that bulding from that side, lucky you! (Terazije street). That is one very cool 30s art deco/modernistic building. How much is stay at that apartment? Regards from Belgrade.

Hey Maddie, great filming and editing. Happy birthday! (just a little tip, talk to the camera more often, or do a voice over, so we can have a bit more story line and insight.)
Hi! I live in Serbia, but my ancestors are from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Bosnia is a special country with beautiful nature. I have traveled the world and seen many continents, but Bosnia's nature is closest to my heart. I love the cities of Sarajevo and Mostar, as well as the delicious food like cevapi, kajmak, and burek. However, the heart of Bosnia lies in its stunning nature. I went on a road trip camping in Bosnia and fell in love with its mountains, such as Maglic, Sator, and Prenj. Bosnia is home to the largest number of natural spring water in Europe and the oldest ancient forest, Perucica. It's untouched by tourist infrastructure, making it a heavenly place on Earth. I recommend visiting mountains like Sator or Maglic, although it might be cold now. By the way, I enjoy your atmospheric videos. all best
Bosnia has such beautiful nature!! I was lucky enough to drive through much of the countryside and take in all of the greenery and water - totally fell in love. Thanks for the recs, I will have to go back soon :)
@@maddieshomevideosnot Balkan but Bosnia, Balkan is geographically location
❤loved the video! More great memories for you😊
Yesss thank you!! 😊
Are you a vegan? If you are, just stop, your energy level seems very low. Serbia is a perfect place to cure people from veganism. Cheers!
Lady, I'm Serbian. I'm speechless. You have an eye to catch the detail that counts, the beauty, the sadnesses, and timelessness. True artist, that's who you are...Well...drop in sometime...Bgd is always there.
Aww thank you so much! I loved Belgrade, it felt so full of feelings - I will be back for sure :)
👍👍
Don't overdo it with perfume, keep it for special occasions!!! It's a quality domestic product not some Chanel sugar water which is too expensive bad and they produce it by the hectolitres just to sell something!!!
We need more of your videos 😭
Sto si depresivna
Mister Nenad Jovanov is the only living indie perfumer in Serbia. Sava perfumery is so vintage place ! By the way, I'm collecting perfumes. Do you want me to send you some decants ?
"Like brutalist almost building". It actually is 100% brutalist. I was surprised by what you were describing because I'm seeing this for the first time in my life and I know the location. Unfortunately, buildings like this one emerged in the place of the old traditional style ones which were destroyed in WW2. This is highly masonic and brutalist architecture, for some of these creations we still don't know why were they built like that because the artistic effort is much higher than anyone could have expected at the time and for the purpose of the building.
This building is between the two buildings with streets in front of them and has a side plateau with multiple terraces which extends below to the underground passage, all part of the same complex but I'm baffled why it was built there and in that way....
Felt like a movie. You are very talented
Seeing the city with your eyes makes it look different...
Thank you for visiting our country, love from 🇷🇸☺
okay. flying to belgrade and buying a perfume from sava! thanks maddie!
How can u find easily a job in order to live a decent life in italy? I am just curious 😢
Interesting...😂
Did you know that Serbian is one of the oldest languages (Vinca culture) so even today they are aprox. 2000 words in English language still same or similar to this old language? so actually you know Serbian more then you think. Example Mater-Mother/ Brat-Brother/Sestra-Sister/Deda-Dad/Sin-Son/Sunce-Sun/Voda-Water/Stranac-Stranger/Vrlo-Very/Moj-My/Skola-School/Jurnjava-Yourney/Krdo-Crowd and so on.....But if you know Serbian then you are good in Bosnia, Croatia and Montenegro. Per request I could send you list of similar words.
I like the vibe from 1:32 to 2:47 that pads 👽 do you have ig?
I love Parfumerie "Sava"! It's been there since the1950s, and the parfumes smell totally retro, like in the1950s, and the bottles are retro, too.
He Is very known & famous. Generation bussines. And earlier of 50's
Im from Bosnia. My Cousin moved to Belgrade arround 5 years ago. Been there few times and i love it. Also the Grey Outskirts are totally chill they just look intimidating but they arent.
When I arrive I feel some weird energy cant wait for June when I go to Belgrade❤
Really interesting video. Subbed.
in fact, you look like one of the local girls, as if you are from Belgrade, and then I saw that you speak English and that you are a foreigner, you fit in well in that environment, did you feel the same? And are you sure you are the first time there?👋☺️ greetings!
Go to Banjaluka and Bjeljina Etno village stanisic
