Hi everyone, I'm back in the Lake District for another big day out. This time i'm heading up to England's highest mountain...Scafell Pike. We'll also be bagging three other wainwrights on this one, so four in total. First up is Lingmell, then from there onto a very windy Scafell Pike, onto Scafell, finishing off down to Slight Side then we'll make our way back to the car. This was a very Britis...

Nice pitch fella, cracking views 👌🏻 You usually find the x mid is pretty sturdy once it’s up. Sheds wind nicely.
Great video mate. Is that the standard x-mid 2 or the pro version. Been looking at them both.
@@mananddog.outdoors Cheers matey. Mines the standard one, it’s a palace inside for one and a dog. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Beautiful country!
@@OfneVegtam Thank you 😁
Another cracker mate! Burgers for the win! I do like the durston. What's the space like for a gt' 6'3 unit? 😂
Cracking spots up there, Langdales are my favourite playground and I never need an excuse to drop into the Old Dungeon Ghyll. Plus I'm a Durston fan boy on the quiet so loved seeing that out there. Always good to hear another proper accent on UA-cam too. Can't beat a steak barm. 😁 Liked and subbed. Good video.
@@rickay5363 Ha ha thanks, yeah it’s a good piece of kit is the Durston. 😁 thanks for watching and the sub 👍🏼
Cracking pitch there mate, the food looked spot on 👌🏻 Can’t escape that wind 😂
@@wandering_endlessly Cheers bud, ha ha yeah I’m sure those weather apps are having a laugh 🫣 thanks for watching mate 👍🏼
Amazing what staying on the lee side of a hill does! Nice spot regardless 😊
@@nightsinthewild It’s definitely good for the soul, thanks for watching Kerry 😁
Love it up round Three Tarns. You found a great spot up there! Cracking view of the Scafells. I was up on Pillar that night with the tent flapping about too - who needs sleep 😵😂 Enjoyed the vid mate 👍
@@the_north_is_ace1523 Yeah it’s been pretty wild the past couple of weeks round the mountains hasn’t it 🤣 turned out to be a nice sheltered spot this one. I haven’t been up Pillar yet, looks mint from what I’ve seen in the pictures. Thanks for watching Andy mate 👍🏼
Thats interesting about parking at the old dungeon ghyll, you used to be able to park in there small scruffy car park for £3 a night and the money went to the helicopter that takes the big bags of stones up for footpath repair, but the owner stopped it after covid. The new dungeon ghyll offer the same deal £10 to park in a field infront of the hotel. I guess it’s easy money for them and more revenue, plus we get overnight parking so win win. Is that the newer version of the Durston? Looked green than light blue and the vent was on the side not above the door. Atb Karl
Ey up mate, no this is the original Durston, it’s a decent piece of kit. Ordered some Sea to Summit ground anchors to attach to the guy out points (not sure why the guy lines don’t come included) so they should help combat the wind. I didn’t know about the over night parking at old dungeon to be honest, just went in with my fingers crossed and he charged me a tenner for overnight. Cheers for watching matey, Atb mate. 👍🏼
The lone sheep looking at you......daft bugger. 😂😂
Cracking video mate! You find some little hidden gems when you dont get to where you want to be… then I look for them and find them for future 😜 hahaha. Wind is forever chasing me too. Love the wind, hate the rain! Cant complain though still beautiful getting out. Keep them coming mate, loving the editing going on 👌🏼
Cheers matey, yeah weather has been pretty grim this summer hasn’t it. Haha I didn’t even know about this spot just went for a mooch and stumbled across it. Nice and flat with a belter views of the Scafells. Lovely. 😁
Very well filmed this matey. Game changer cooking some decent scran. Said it for ages me about packet meals. I always take left over food and re heat it. Far cheaper and tastier. We defo need to get out on a camp man.
Thanks mate, ha ha yeah that Burger tasted amazing after a hike tbh. Was a bit gutted I forgot the cheese like 🤣 yeah man sounds good defo be up for that 👍🏼
A Gareth Southgate 😂😂 I can't be chewed with an external mic... but I did buy a 'windslayer'... little foam cover ... seems to help Great video, nout better than being up a hill with some beers and views 💪
@@MountainsAndMore Haha.. the wind slayer is what I’m using at the moment think it works alright in the wind if you speak a little louder. Thanks for watching much appreciated. 😁

@@iiiCallumx Ha ha cheers buddy. I was round that way again last night, blowing a gale as usual. 🫣 Thanks for watching mate. 🤙🏼
Great vid!
@@ktswandering Thanks, much appreciated. Thanks for watching 😁
My BA Copper Spur took a battering like this in the Scottish Highlands around Easter. I was also worried, but it held up fine. Bending is fine as long as it doesn't break! I did build a small wind shield by stacking old tires that I found lying around - perhaps next time this happens you could try that (looks like there were plenty of rocks for building a 1-2 ft wall).
@@jorisev Yeah besides the poles bending slightly the tent held up alright in all fairness, I was concerned as I’ve never seen it like that in the wind. Although water was blowing through the vent early morning which wasn’t ideal. Thanks for watching, much appreciated. 👍🏼
Another great vid mate. I'm in the unscrewed club too. Always best to wake up in the morning 😂.
@@the_north_is_ace1523 Safety first and all that. 🔥😆 Cheers bud and thanks for watching. 👍🏼

I thought the day was over before it even started there, haha. Thanks very much for watching and the sub. 😁
Cheers for the shout-out mate. Much appreciated. I hope the fjallraven tent fares a bit better than ya cap in that wind! 😅😅😅 Cracking video as usual! 👍👍👍
No worries bud, yes it was a windy one on this camp. Had to tighten the dials on the cap just so it’d stay on. Reckon the fjallraven will be solid in the wind looks a proper piece of kit. Thanks for watching mate. 👍🏼
@@Northern_Rockhopper the big agnes tent has the same pole configuration as my mates kuiu tent. They do recommend you put a walking pole under that top bit, as you did. Just on the mic thing, i think the audio is decent. I tried a mic in some reasonable wind on my tent pitch video. I didnt bother yesterday and the audio is just as good if not better using the wind slayer on my go pro. Dunno if youve used one but i prefer it to the media mod.
@@LakeDistrictOutdoors Aye there’s no catchment for the trekking pole on the BA tent like the Kuiu’s..I do like the look of those Kuiu tents, no doubt will be a lot stronger with the pole attached. Mine kept rocking everywhere so thought it best to remove it. That’s what I was using on this one, just a cheap £7.99 Windslayer from Amazon. Seems to perform alright in the wind to be fair. 🤙🏼
@@Northern_Rockhopper Same as me. Cheap n Cheerful! 😅
Thought you’d lost your hat for a minute 😂 Cracking spot that was mate, shame about the wind.
So did I, amazed it landed beside a rock tbh otherwise I’d have never seen it again. 🤣 Cheers for watching mate. 🤙🏼
Nice one mate, think that will be the route for me up to Scafell. As soon as I hear easy I’m in, just need to get through the gate first!

Nice video mate, can’t believe how popular wild camping has got in the Lake District especially around tarns these days. I was in the Langdale valley a couple of weeks ago I think you commented on the video I made, and the amount of young lads I saw with OEX tents hanging off there rucksacks was unbelievable. Camped on Scafell earlier in the year and there was a lad over the other side with a big Agnes like yours and they’re massive tents so I can see why you struggled to fine a spot. Can’t beat the Turmat meals really nice just bloody expensive. 😂 atb Karl 👍
@@TheSummitexplorer69 Yeah it’s definitely boomed this last couple of years hasn’t it. No doubt they’ll be less campers about once it gets colder (hopefully) lol. Thanks for watching much appreciated 😁

Hello. Many thanks for this great video, for sharing these beautiful landscapes. Frankly speaking, I prefer without music, it allows me, with my poor level of English to understand a bit better your comments. I also own the X-Mid 1 and the 2, they are the best tents I have ever used. You made the right choice, hoping that you are totally pleased. Warm regards from French Basque Country , Gerald
