Limbus Company Literary Analysis

A Predictive Literary Analysis of Limbus Company's Don Quixote
This was it then, the first video. Thank you for giving this video, and by extent, me, a chance. I know I still have much to learn, and am outclassed in most of my presentation even in the small space that is Limbus UA-cam.
I promise to outdo myself in the proper Don video once canto 7 is fully out. A prediction video is worthless if the thing you are predicting is already out, so I was under time constraints here as well, combined with learning many things from scratch.
Again, I think anyone that's given this a chance. I'll be striving to outdo myself in the next video.

19:13 btw this was corrected not some time ago and in the patch notes (Miguel now replaced with Don Quixote) PM labeled is an outdated sprite meaning that they probably had some idea for this first version of the story, made the sprite, but then scrapped it, though there might be a slight chance this sprite might be reused depending on how Canto 7 will end
I have the need to say in the sonet ´´Orlando furioso a don Quijote de la Mancha´´ they mention someone named angelica and is orlando´s beloved, sooo.
I found this video only after the first part of Don's canto is out. Based on the first part it seems like the chapter is going to be about us meeting the real don and her waking from the dream. I wont spoil stuff but thats the vibe i got from what faust and vergilius tell us.
Don... it's time to wake up...
I do not fear reading, I read the dreaming of the red chamber. People should fear me!
I admire your tenacity! Dream of the Red Chamber is one of the books that I was referring to when I said I intend to cover *most* of the books. I'm frankly not sure on DotRC yet. It'd be a massive wait for the viewers of this channel, and I might not be able to interpret it deeply enough.
@@LimbusCompanyLiteraryAnalysis I understand the feeling of not covering this book. The few other books I’ve read felt like a cakewalk compared to this. Unfortunately or fortunately, I had the 1100 around pages version. My personal issue was my poor memory of the names (it has a lot of them, I can say like 20 names from my memory and it isn’t half of them) and my lack of knowledge of chinese folklore. At the last page a taoist says “ In truth the whole story was a lie, neither the author, transcriber nor the reader know it. It is a joke written for fun!” This quote worked as a medicine but also as salt to my injury, which was inflicted upon me from reading the last 200 pages that crushed my heart… At least I understand Hong lu more :D
i knell you for reading china slop like my father which some guy call truong nhuoc tran
Just a thought with not much basis at all. What if Don is masquerading like this because of something that happened to sancho? Maybe he/she was a servant or close bloodfiend friend that happened to get killed due to the way bloodfiends are seen as threats? Thats why sancho is in the ego name, its one of the personal reasons she's masquerading as a human. Only got this idea due to the cure theory video I've seen before this. Not a theory guy so this is probably wrong.
Aaaggh , reading! my only weakness! I wish there was a more accessible reading material for yi sang works
nice
Here is a rare species of Project Moon fan, Hydrochoerus litteratus, the only literate kind of Project Moon fan capable of reading source book.
My understanding of the Miguel Don Quixote Theory is that it pulls from the musical Man of La Mancha, where Miguel de Cervantes is a character in the frame story
19:14 the sprites were changed, thus making this claim null
imagine if don falls for a certain fixer
have you watched the man of la mancha play/musical? it has a very different plot from the book, and limbus seems to be pulling from it just as much (if not more) than the novel itself. a lot of real interesting stuff to get into there.
I have not yet, but I'll have to look into viewing it. I can only really kick work on the full analysis into motion once the canto is fully released, so I have time to do more research.
capaybar limbus
I appreciate the slightly broken Don Quixote summary, but this was not much other than many long running Don theories already posed a bunch before. A well enough first vid though. Keep it up
Wrong, I've loved reading 8000+ pages of Lord of the Mysteries within just 3 months (I know someone who did it in under 2). However 1000 pages of Don Quixote shiver me timbers, so thank you very much UA-cam Recommendations man!
I fine that that PM doesn't just super size the story but add it relevant stories to and concepts related to story. In for example Wuthing Heights not just being a romance novel but have explicable supernatural events happening through it. Erlking Heathcliff is just as much of devil Heathcliff is called throughout the book. being in command of wild hunt a supernatural force on the British isles. As such who is to say La Mancha land isn't a literal dream that must end for Don to move on with her life. Also do keep in mind that LCB has been facing off increasingly more dangerous enemies through out their journey having a Bloodfiend isn't likely going to be enough especially post Seed of Light.
What a great channel! However, the timing is really funny, because the Canto after Don's is Hong Lu's, you know, Dream Of The Red Chamber, good luck with the 2000+ pages of required reading!
DotRC is one of the books I'm not sure about covering due to its length, complexity, and supposedly being horrendous to translate. If I do that one, it won't be any time super soon. I have 6 cantos behind me to look at, after all.
so.... will we get hong lu analysis????
Maybe* The length of the book, its complexity and apparently being really bad to translate makes me hesitant to cover it. If I do, it will probably be farther into Limbus' lifespan. There are 6 cantos to look at behind us as well.
There is no comment, I'm feeding the algorithm cause I forgot to earlier RAHHH
What are Ayn Rand's beliefs? In ethics, Rand argued for rational and ethical egoism (rational self-interest), as the guiding moral principle. She said the individual should "exist for his own sake, neither sacrificing himself to others nor sacrificing others to himself". Lame and gae Russian liberal
1000 pages? Blud will not survive Hong Lu's canto (It's like 2600 standard length pages, really good though. I ranked it second behind Moby Dick when I read the books)
The authoritative translation would be by Hawkes published as "Story of the Stone" by Penguin, strongly recommended
You have identified one of the books I might not cover lmao I am absolutely noting that translation name you mentioned though, in case I do want to give it a go
@LimbusCompanyLiteraryAnalysis it was the last one I read and uh, phew. Had I not been a completionist I doubt I would have finished it. For due reference, when I called it the second best book that was not meant in the sense of "it will be gripping for 2600 pages" because it won't be lol. It's a real commitment to get through, longer than the bible.
Maybe you could read a synopsis of the story? Or watch the series I heard that the series is quite good.
Wow someone who READ😢😢😢
As a Ruina fan before Limbus, I will be absolutely ecstatic of we see Roland in the upcoming canto
even a nod is just enough since he is supposed to be on the outskirts, but man I'd hang myself if we actually see him
@@yakeru3356 That is the most unique variation I've ever seen of "dying of happiness"
knowing that Don is actually old it would be funny if she end up being Roland's "grandma" that one day suddenly gone, Durandal being a sword she give him.
Roland's grandma is implied to be tge Purple tear, who personally trains fixers for greatness.
What if Don is a distant relative to Vergil, see the red eyes.
Suddenly one day... my arm had changed...
@@Maneru5978red eyes are trait of bloodfiends pretty sure
12:47 keep in mind that C corp (the eye) can keep track of every individual in the city so Roland and Angela will remain in the outskirts.
C corp is the Claw, B corp is the Beholder.
the perception blocking mask in question:
@@stealthily6668 Well, the people still could somewhat perceive him so I doubt it's that powerfull. Iirc he was wearing it at the end of the ruina when he fought an Arbiter and a claw and they didn't have any trouble with him at all
@@Rais-Codex Oh crap, my bad
@@lovingmurclock6952 At the same time he fought the entire distorted ensemble and they jumped him straight after (also the libary was running out of power due to the release of light)
yo this analysis is fire
It's be kind of neat if the revelation takes cues from the musical's version of the knight of mirrors and has it take place in a room of funhouse mirrors that actually show different versions of yourself.
Another excellent comment, people have been incredibly insightful so far. Given the carnival theme, I wouldn't be surprised if you were right on the money.
Greate video man! Can’t wait to see and hear more of you!
Finally someone who reads for me so i dont have to! Oh and also subscribed and gladly awaiting more.
"Limbus company literary analysis"? Count me tf in
Hope this grows.
Don moment
I just discovered the video only goes up to 480p and am baffled by that fact lmao I could have sworn I set it to 1080p during exporting. With the video having *kinda* taken off a little bit now that there's people outside my friend group here in these comments, I think that's an L I just have to take. I will take care of this with the next one.
It's ok, Ive done the same thing before when I used to upload on my alt.
New Ish ID got us some X corp and "hellholes", mines in there so the cave episode really seems to be possible part of the story
YUCKY READING!
Hard to predict anything when you compare heathcliff from the game, a guy who despite being broken into nothing rebuilds himself and ends up caring for his co-workers, to heathcliff from the book… ifykyk
Especially since Erlking was the closest to book Heathcliff and ⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️ just straight up hollow purple'd him as an effect of erasing all ⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️⬜️.
to make this make alot more sense its theorised that a handful of the limbus WH cast are mixed with their WH children namely heathcliff + hareton and edgar + linton which explains limbus heathcliff’s more positive development mirroring that of hareton’s
Well unlike in the books limbus heathcliff did have people to from getting worse
Well, it's not like BookHeathcliff was entitely irrelevant, it's just that that characterization went to A Literal Different Heathcliff than Ours.
One important thing I need to mention, the name Miguel on Don’s coat was changed in a recent update, so take it’s canonicity into question A few thoughts: Given how weighted the term “mirror” is in both Limbus (mirror world) and vampire mythos (no reflection), my guess is that the Knight of Mirrors is going to be the one who forces Don to see her other self. That scene in the trailer of the character with the giant scissors telling Don to enter La-Mancha land to save people from Bloodfiends is probably an adaptation of the scene where the Barber tries to convince Don to stay in La-Mancha In MOTWE, Casetti calls Sasha his squire. Given that book Don calls Sancho his squire, Sancho could very well be Don’s kindred.
A very good point about mirrors and the knight of the mirrors! That's something I definitely would have included, had I thought of it. Lots of interesting observations you have.
Sancho being Don's Kindred would also recontextualize her EGO - La Sangre De Sancho - from just a Blood Spear, to a Blood Spear made by recalling the blood consumed from Sancho and forging it into a Blood Weapon, simillarly to how Casetti forged his Halberd out of the Bloodbags and Kindred that failed to Beat the shit out of the Sinners
Nice video man hope you can make more
This channel is going to be great, All hail limbus company
3:35 now i think what Don thinks of Rolland lol
I love this. I can't wait for more from this chanel
To be honest, I thought the canto was going to be about Don maturing and learning that you cant always be the hero or something like that- However... with all this vampire nonsense introduced by the warp train event and the preview I kinda doubt its going to be anything like that/or the book tbh.
To the first of many, then. Cheers.
Friend of mine sent me your channel, since i like project moon games such as, Library of ruina, lobotomy corp, and limbus!
I hope the video was to your liking then, and thank you for coming!
