What a great service you are doing for spinners. I'm a new spinner, and it really cements in my mind what the entire process looks like, starting with selecting fibre. I'd love to knit one (or several) Andrea Mowry shawls/bowls with my handspun, and your information is so helpful, I can see myself rewatching pertinent videos. I even find it helpful seeing how you draft - I think I have been drafting too much at a time! I hope you keep doing what you're doing! PS I love your kitties!

Hello! I stumbled onto this video because I have decided learn how to knit socks and the feed just recommended this podcast. And so glad it did. I have only watched the spinning part of the episode and must now leave it to go get my spinning wheel out of storage. How inspiring you are!!!! While I learn to knit socks - using commercial yarn - I will get my hand back into spinning. I have never spun so thinly, but now I see what a must it will be to have home dyed, home spun, home knitted socks. Might take a few years, but who is in a hurry? Thank you soooooo much.

If all/most of the staple length was as you showed I would not buy from that seller again. Angora fiber should be 3-4 inches in length. You did a great job spinning it especially considering you hadn't ever spun angora before but seriously, I hope you didn't pay full price for that.

Hi Liz, thank you for Yarn Waffle and especially for the Spin to Knit episodes. I just love them. I have scoured the internet for more content on projects made from handspun yarn, and there's not many that show the whole process. I know that spinning fibre is a hobby in itself, but I really want to use the fibre I spin so that I can enjoy it all over again. I love that you mention the pattern that inspires you to spin, the thinking behind your colour choices and fibre prep and then the construction of the yarn to achieve your desired outcome. And then we get to see how your beautiful yarn knits up into your designated project. I admire that you give such thought and planning to these episodes and let us into your creative world for quite some of the time. It's a wonderful podcast and the cats are added entertainment value. Thank you for a lovely video whilst I knit sox... my cats assist also, so I appreciated yours! Regarding the increases before the heel begins-- this is a way to accomodate those of us with high insteps. The circumference of our feet, measured around heel point over instep and back, is larger than the classic short-row heel. Without this adjustment, sox are too small there, even if ankle circumference and foot circumference are adequate. The first symptom I notice is that the heel slips under my foot when wearing that sock. So, Thank you for the video, and a new pattern (Vanilla Chocolate) that has already done the adjustments I need!
