Honestly don't know why Billy wanted these videos taken down, Retsu is basically his biggest cheerleader. Of course some of the fans were turning into pricks, harassing some of the RP/LPers, so maybe some of them ruined all the good times.

I always loved Retsupuraes' play relationship with Billy. They first treated him like some sheltered little boy they made fun of, to an endearing, misguided, younger brother who they poke fun at to show how much they care. I was surprised to find out that BillyMC is actually older than Beef and Betus.

i think the story could be improved by delving into just how weird the sensation of being inside the game would be. struggle to cling onto pidgeot's back as it flies you between towns, say something when you "talk" to the npcs rather than just pressing a button, get hit by a particle coming off of the enemy's attack and *feel* it. that's a big element of the pasta that seems underexplored

I miss Retsupurae. Life hasn't been the same since they left.

I feel like this video was the (or at least a) catalyst for RP’s burnout. I could be overanalyzing, but it sounds like Beef became increasingly self-aware as the video went on and realized he spent so many years poking fun at people just doing what made them happy. Don’t get me wrong - I fucking love RP and think there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the humor, even in their OG videos. Truth be told, a return to this kind of comedy would be a breath of fresh air and probably do society some good in the wake of how overly sensitive we’ve become. Still, I can’t help but think this particular RP may have been a turning point for Beef. I dunno. You hear him sipping on what could be booze throughout the entire video, and by the end of it, he honestly sounds jealous of just how much fun Billy and Lime are having. Maybe decades of cynicism just does that to a person? Again, could just be overanalyzing. But you never know.
