Intumescent Paint for exposed Steels and Lateral Wall Straps
Update On The Extension: We didn't realise that if we are to expose the steels as per our design we would have to coat them with an intumescent paint! What is that? Thermoguard Thermocoat WI is a water-based intumescent paint system providing fire resistance to structural steel and cast iron. This is the company we use who were very helpful.

Another of our challenges was where to put the lateral Straps (holds the roof to the wall) I'M LEARNING SO MUCH!!

DeWalt Cordless SDS Drill - - Better than a Hammer and Chisel!

#dewalttools #diy #homebuilder #selfbuild #extension I started removing the old blown plaster with a hammer and chisel (which I had previously done on the other wall which gave me a sore thumb!) The Builders (doing the extension) let me borrow the DeWalt Cordless SDS Drill and apart from being a little dustier made the job a lot easier. It was not only much lighter than the one we have (which w...

Hi, what black hearth did you install in the end after adding your concrete base? Did you get it made to measure or cut it yourself? Thanks!

Hi Guys, good job not as easy as people think, good to use the spray bottle and the vacuuming, what you could do is string a line from each end of the chimney breast and that would help you run your bricks in. Also you could dip the bricks in a bucket of water just the bottom of the brick before laying particularly if the bricks are dry and it's the summer time.

Hi. You helped me a lot in making a decision regarding my fence. I like your panels. Please tell me what type of panels you choose. I want to buy good quality paneles and your looks right . I've seen the link, but them pictures are so artistic that I can not see the "real" panel .

A useful tip is to always, where possible, start from the higher ground and work your way downwards. That way the panels will step correctly with the ground as you install them and you won't have the problem of the posts being higher or lower than the panel.

The smaller the machine the harder it is to run smoothly. A zero swing means it’s butt or counterbalance does not go past it’s tracks at any point, this is helpful when working in tight spots like in between houses, this one is not a zero turn.

that is why you should get clumping bamboo! their rhizomes curve straight up from the plant and do not spread everywhere! the shoots usually appear less than a couple inches from the plant.

Absolutely right. My friends have that bamboo that's just beautiful and very well behaved! This bamboo had been allowed to go unchecked for 20 years! I believe it spread from next door but who knows!
