I hate the one that says “check your zip code” about 50 times and also the one that repeats itself and says “1-2-3!” Who are these marketing execs? Can’t they come up with something better where the actors don’t talk to us like we’re 7 years old??

I'm so sorry for your loss of your mother and I so agree with you about this company using the name, "Karen" in a derogatory way. Since the joke started a few years ago, "She looks like a Karen who wants to speak to a manager", was targeting women who are white and think they're entitled. I didn't know it was wrong to speak to a manager for one thing and I'm Mexican-American and I even think that joke that was aimed at white women only, is racist and demeaning. I've worked in retail and customer service for the public and I've seen every single adult of a different kind of ethnicity, who acted entitled and throwing fits in public. Now the name Karen, is being used as a replacement for and degrading insult and Karen is being used in many videos of these guys who have video channels on UA-cam of nothing but mostly white women, I actually rather say, Caucasian, because it is more respectful. It seems too many people forget people who are Caucasian also have an ethnic background where they came from. I have a couple of friends who are so sweet and caring women and they are elderly and their name is Karen. They already have been laughed at, made fun of, even harassed by other adults! Grown ups acting like bullies on the playground. But it's sick that there's these UA-cam videos targeting women who are angry in public, even if they're intoxicated, they get labeled a "Karen". I'll see titles like, "She's such a Karen", "Racist Karen", Entitled Karen, and so on. Karen is a kind and innocent name. But someone started it and it took a life of its own by other people making it come of hateful and negative.

I WILL say this: this commercial is still (and will always be) far less annoying than the Plexiderm commercials, John Walsh's OmegaXL commercials, the generic viagra commercials, and ESPECIALLY the Pfizer commercial filled with asthmatic smokers who are presumably laughing, but sound more like they're gasping for their last breath of air (not to mention the woman hooting and hollering at the end. Nothing is so funny that you have to shatter people's eardrums by screaming at the top of your lungs.) I have to mute the TV for that one especially. So in the grand scheme of things, Karen's commercial isn't so bad after all!

No, you won't be, but isn't it fun how there is no way for a woman to demand or even ask for respect without being labeled one thing or another? Karen... bitch... or worse -- sit down and shut up or suffer the consequences, be that public ridicule or physical or sexual abuse. This commercial isnt funny, and anybody who uses these ugly misogynistic tropes to shut women up deserves any consequence they receive.

Don't internalize the misogyny, You are entitled to respect. Women are entitled to respect. Demand the respect you are due. Men have many ways of shutting women up and shutting women down. This one legitimizes all the others.

I actually disagree. Mike Farrell had a real depth to his performances especially the later seasons from 9 til the end. I believe it because Alan Alda took a step back and was directing. As for Wayne Rogers really played Trapper very one dimensional as did Larry Linville. Except Larry Linville said there was no other way to play Frank Burns. For Frank Burns to start to be “kind and nice” would be completely out of character as he played it the same way through until he left in season 5. There was literally no in between for Frank Burns to be redeemed. Trapper was a cad and had Wayne Rogers stayed and not let his ego get in the way I do believe his character could be redeemable and as a actor he would have been featured more with plot lines that were deeper and could show his acting chops. But he left because of ego! Then another slap in the face to not take the role of Trapper John when CBS created that show years later they STILL offered it to Wayne Rogers but he turned it down. The show turned out to be successful. Lastly, I do believe that a lot of tv shows with big ensemble casts usually find their groove with their characters season 3 to 4 and it’s only up from there. But that wasn’t the case for Mash. I think the characters Col. Potter, Winchester and Bj were fantastic changes that gave a real depth to the show and the performances. Especially after Radar leaves.
