Not just the 40% revenue thing that is still outstanding and unsettled. There were and still are so many other outstanding issues yet to be resolved associated with the MA63. For Sabahans who were born in the 1960s, 1961, and 1962 to be more accurate, who sat for the 1977 Form 3 LCE exam in Sabah secondary schools but were not fortunate enough to pass their BM paper would never ever forget how devasted they felt when they found out that they had failed their BM paper (both the written paper and oral test were made compulsory to pass at the eleventh hour without sufficient notice). Scores of 15 or 16 years old had to drop out of school and lose the opportunity to continue their formal education in national secondary schools, all because of a language subject that was suddenly made mandatory to pass by the Malayan Ministry of Education and its government even though the year 1977 was the last year of English education in Sabah ie all subjects were thought in English. As a result, many "future" careers were either destroyed or hampered as many of those who failed the BM paper in their LCE exam in 1977 could not be promoted to continue their studies in Form 4 even though they had passed most other subjects. The Federal government and its education ministry and minister of education still owe Sabah a good explanation as to why they had to make that language subject compulsory (unprecedented) when 1977 was the last year of English medium of instruction? Sabahans who were affected by such "bullying" by the then Ministry and Minister of Education in the 1970s were traumatized as many had lost the opportunity to continue their studies and missed the chance to achieve their ambitions (like doctors, engineers, lawyers, architects, economists, etc., etc.) because their rights had been robbed. The current Sabah government, on behalf of all those class of 1977 LCE students who were affected as such, should demand not just an apology from the Federal government and its education ministry but more importantly, justice must be done and compensation be paid in the billions to those affected adversely for such "atrocity" done to the people of Sabah, even though decades ago, they (the federal ministry of education and its government in the 1970s) were clearly in breach of not just the MA63 but also the Federal Constitution! If any of you reading this is a true Sabahan then you should likewise demand that justice be brought against those responsible for contributing to the downfall of education in Sabah and tremendously hampering the growth and development of the economy in the state! Sabahans had been shortchanged tremendously. Politicians in Sabah were weak and had failed Sabahans.
