When you read your results- it says Cameroon- to Congo/west Bantu and when you click on it, it’s says your ancestor is primary from Angola and Congo . The Mbundu tribes and Bakongo tribes removed from Congo and Angola are your ancestors (especially if you are near the dmv/ dc Maryland Virginia area or South Carolina or Lousiana). The Mbundu tribes arrived in August 20,1619 in Virginia, Make sure you also include the ppl who created most black American culture (jazz music , calling ppl who stink -funk/funky, Bantu knots , twerking (Congo and Ivory Coast), the banjo is modeled after Angolan mbanza instrument, rocking cowrie shells like the very first African american lady Angela from Luanda Angola.

At 2:07 - try Nigerian jollof rice and then try Gullah red rice - usually found in South Carolina where your ancestors were from. While Enslaved they tried to make jollof - so red rice It’s the same, except they had to improvise on some ingredients, 2. Then try pounded yam - then try sweet potato pie (pounded sweet potatoes) and then candied yams. Ancestors called them yams but they were sweet potatoes, yams are only in Africa, sweet potatoes only in the Americas . 3. Try Gullah okra stew and then try Nigerian or Ghana okra stew and then other African American okra and tomatoes 4. But a straw basket from a Gullah woman-

1: 03 -Not.ice when you click Cameroon, Congo, west bantu it says Angola and Congo? Most bantu ppl have dna from Cameroon, but the west bantu -moved south west to (kingdom of Kongo and Ndongo) aka modern day Angola, Congo. The tribes were called mbundu and bakongo & was taken to Colombia, brazil, va, South Carolina, Lousiana. Funk music & calling someone funky was made in usa but use the word comes from Lu-fuki in kongo, Twerking also comes from kingdom of Kongo, the word zombie also comes from kingdom of kongo., the black American hero Gullah Jack is from Angola & joined the Gullah geechee ppl. The blk American folklore hero John the conquerer is about a former king of Congo

You are probably Gullah geechee. The Nigerians were not direct from Nigeria- but igbo Nigerians that were enslaved the the island of Barbados - and then again in South Carolina or Georgia -( this is why places in ga is called igbo landing or ppl in South Carolina has similar accent to barbados) The Cameroon , Congo, west bantu - are Angolans and Congo.

Hey sis. I just did a DNA test and I got my results yesterday. I pretty much have the same results as you. 35% Nigerian, 17% Mali, 17% Ivory Coast/Ghana etc. My point is i did more research and read on the subject, Biologists as well as the DNA companies admit this is accurate to less than 0.1%. If you look at the wording it says "Ethnicity Estimate" there is no way to use saliva and extract comparable data that lets you know both sides of each ancestor, which doubles every generation. Your parents 2 their two parents 4 their two parents 8 their two parents 16 their two parents 32 etc. Its more likely that you are Gullah Geechee, Seminole, Choctaw, Chickasaw based on where your family is from. It seems we look for an identity and culture but we already have a rich history here in America. I go back to the late 1700's and I'm pretty sure you do too! Our ancestors have done incredible things that have forever changed the world, thousands of inventions, our cultural is imitated all over the world. I stand in support of brothers and sisters all over the world and respect their culture now its time everyone respect Ours! FBA,Black American, Indigenous. I leave you with this, all that DNA and it skips over the last few hundred years make it make sense. Jagoodadyu, Peace, Halito, Ase, Chi pisa la chilke, Cho pisa la lacho

@@jasminthyme your ancestors were probably Gullah geechee, visit South Carolina and meet up with them. Learn the Gullah language, it’s taught at Harvard as the first AA language but you can learn in South Carolina. Most aave has words taken from Gullah (mix of Sierra Leone, Angola, Congo). Also try the food, Gullah food is closer to african than african Americans- Gullah red rice (was ancestors trying to make jollof & theiboudine) , benne wafers (first African American desert) benne is a bantu word for sesame. It use to mean good luck and they hid it in hair on slave ship. The Gullah also weave baskets and have unique artwork with meaning . Also the blue bottle trees (direct from Congo in 1600s). Many Gullah ppl escaped to Sierra Leone (this is why idris elba says his ancestor was an African American) and some created “angola, Florida “ and then used the saltwater railroad and went to the Bahamas
