I buy the same amount every time unless it’s a big set up. Usually 100 5 inch, 100 11 inch and 50 18 inch. I do have some left over and use them when I get those big orders. No I never leave left overs with my customers. That’s not what I sell. I sell you the design sometimes I use them all sometimes I use less and a few times I have to use more then I planned for.

Hey there Lorraine! It’s honestly been a great way for me to remember by rewatching my videos what I have done in previous balloon garlands. I get customers who request the same design and honestly sometimes i forgot what colors they were so filming helps me with that and also helps me want to keep working on balloon garlands and not giving up ☺️ think of it as a journal when your ready.

Hi there! At first I did about 3-4 family events like that because they wanted to use Amazon balloons so I chargers $75 for them. Quickly after that I would not do them anymore and started to charge them a discount price 30% off for immediate family only. (To grow my portfolio) There is many reasons why. Honestly I always over buy balloons for the “just in case” situation. Many people don’t. They have an unrealistic amount of balloons in mind. Secondly this is work for your portfolio you want good quality balloons that look amazing for the event and for people to ask “man who did your balloons they look awesome!” Those will be your future clients. Balloons are pricy it is a luxury item. Also think about your time and your talent. Simply say “I truly wish to work on your next special event. But unfortunately I only use a special brand of balloons for their amazing quality after trying many brands. Balloons are not the only thing that go into your set up. There is much more behind the scenes material that I purchase on a regular bases. For this reason I only offer full services. I hope you have a blessed day and continue to consider us for future events”

I want you think of your self not as a balloon artist but as a carpenter. A carpenter charges not only for the material but also for his talent and skills.

Omgeee thank you for the advice!!! I don’t often spray them because it’s so expensive but that’s s good idea for the small occasions when I reuse them

I’ll be completely honest at first we are trying to build our portfolio. We want content so kept it simple. If it’s 20 minutes away charge $20-30 for gas. Once you have your portfolio built then I would charge per mile coming and going. Example if it’s 15 miles away I charge $30 that’s how I do it with my bakery that has a built portfolio. As far as set up I would charge per hour. If it takes me 1 hour to set up I’d charge $30 that’s how much I want to get paid as a starting balloon artist.

Hi there! I totally agree that does happen. When you are first starting you have budget friendly customers but I will say that when your work is getting better if those customers do not grow with you it’s because their budget doesn’t allow them to and that’s okay. You’ll see that as your portfolio grows so will your customer base. This is when your new customers who LOVE your work will make it happen! Remember you’ve become a sales person in your business.

It's not that you're being greedy...it's that you know how much hard work this is. A lot people don't believe that so much goes into this business. I hate when I hear "why is it so expensive, they're just balloons." 😠
