    Very interesting video and a really comprehensive list....I would add a tire tread gauge, and maybe a tire pressure gauge and perhaps a decent tire chuck... with regards the bags, you can tool rolls with removable that are very similar...Using one of those might enable you to carry a selection of tools without taking the case?

    Best toolbox tour imo that's the same way I setup my toolbox I only have so much room and want to keep it portable so I packed just the essentials I'm not finished yet it's difficult especially incorporating 3 difficult drive sizes luckily I don't have a weight limit just a toolbox I don't want any bigger than it already is

    Some relatively light weight tools to add or replace that I can think off of the top of my head. Many may not be applicable for you, but hopefully at least one is a useful addition to your kit. {Edit: I'm also writing this list for myself, as thinking about building a minimalist/backwoods emergency toolkit is a fun exercise. Long list in comment below.} Putty knife or scraper (For working with gaskets) Small Prybar or large flat blade screwdriver (could even get one with a striking handle) Bristle brush (Steel or brass) Brake bleeder wrench and 1-2ft length of clear tubing (For bleeding brakes) Headlamp Lighter One or Two different funnels (Will take up some space but no weight) Zip ties, PTFE Tape, Electrical Tape, Double Stick Tape (VHB), Shrink Tubing & Shrink Tubing w/ Solder Wire Splices, Fuses A few different sizes roughly 1ft long of automotive tubing/hose 2-5ft of 18,16,14,12 or other applicable size wire Butane Torch/Soldering Iron & Small roll of solder Battery Post Cleaning tool, Tire Pressure Gage, Feeler Gages Small Sheets of Various Grit Sandpaper Some amount of aircraft locking wire (Unless you can buy on site, included since you already have the pliers) Bluetooth OBD code reader to connect to your phone Drill bits and taps (Most relevant sizes for your line of work), Tap Handle Lady's foot lineup prybar Smaller 5" Cobra or Pliers Wrench Pliers (For tight spaces) Small tubes of: Threadlock, Oil, Grease, Graphite, Dielectric Grease, Thermal Paste, Thread sealing compound, Anti-Seize, RTV / Gasket Maker Small can of WD-40 and/or Penetrating oil of choice JB-Weld 2-3 Fresh Tubes of Superglue and Band-Aids Tire repair kit Vise Grips A pair of long reach pliers Click Style Torque Wrench 20-25ft of Paracord (For Macgyvering things) A few different size bungee cords (Hold things out of your way while working like hoses or brake calipers) A couple paper clips A couple alligator clip leads Lithium car battery jump pack And unfortunately not as light weight, but at least for automotive is definately missing (3 or 5lb sledge hammer). Though I assume looking at this layout that you intend to by a hammer and drill at your destination to save weight.

    I think you have everything you need & more. I like how you used separate bags. I travel cross country, & have a similar setup. I chose separate bags so I could disperse the weight in my car for handling purposes. However my sockets are not on any rail system, neither are my wrenches. I like your setup much better.

    Вітаю. Цікавить як з юридичної точки зору Ви користуєтесь власним інструментом на літаку. В авіакомпанії в якій я працюю я можу використовувати лише інструмент авіакомпанії який промаркований згідно списку. Можливо Ваша порада як сказати моєму керівництву що власний інструмент це зручно і швидко. Можливо якесь посилання на керівні документи з цього питання. Дякую

    Stumbled on this UA-cam channel. You guys are living out my dream! Years ago I got my CFII/MEI and then A&P with the hopes of going to JAARS or MAF. Neither of those things materialized and God had a different plan. The airlines, and now pastoring. Grateful for His faithfulness and guidance. Also, grateful for your updates and looking forward to following your journey. Praying for you guys!

    Are you landing with up to 10kts tailwind? What slope were you on? That's gutsy man. Nice work. Liked the comments about the flaps, 0 to 10. He liked that 😊

    • @cowlesinkenya1597
      @cowlesinkenya1597 Рік тому

      Hey JB! The airstrip is one-way, so we took off with a headwind and landed with about 7kts on the tail. The slope is about 6% in the touchdown zone. Once you crest the hill, it's mostly flat. Thanks for the comments!

    I’m pretty sure based on the way you’re describing things that this doesn’t fit your business model… But my father used to work for a company and they would have people flying in from Europe all the time to service and install machines that they have purchased that were built by European companies end it is very expensive as you said to ship things like a box full of tools all overseas whether it’s on an airline or via some thing like FedEx. So what they would do is they would include a tool kit, normally in a box like this or in a metal toolbox that you could carry around like a traditional mechanics metal toolbox from back in the day in with the actual piece of equipment which was palletized in a crate. That would be shipped over on a boat which is far less expensive. That was included in the cost of the equipment that was being sold to his company, and they never had any intention of reclaiming the tools. Those tools were yours to keep. In fact a great deal of the tools I have now are really nice German tools that were acquired from them leaving stuff here. Nice tool boxes too. But it was probably cheaper for them than us shipping it back at their expense.

    I’m currently setting up a Nanuk 935 Case, (similar to the pelican), I’ve done a hybrid style with a few foam layers in the bottom of the case; and then a mix of bags/cases on top of those; but I put them on top of a hard plastic base layer so all the bags/cases can be removed at once for quick access to the bottom foam layers… Also you should consider a lid organizer, it will give you extra pockets to fit things more compactly than the foam. Also check out more Wera branded tools, (like your tiny ratchet) I have found them to be incredibly good at tool storage and fitting multiple form functions together. They may be able to help you pair down even more. In particular on the wrenches, I am using their joker adjustables which eliminated my entire wrench set!! Thanks for sharing the video, when I get my kit done I’ll share it, hopefully it will help you and others!

    • @baconsnake6463
      @baconsnake6463 Рік тому

      What type of foam did you go with? And where did you get it?

    • @adam-do9tt
      @adam-do9tt Рік тому

      @@baconsnake6463 I would have liked to try the ShadowFoam brand, but they are UK based and shipping was CRAZY, so I ended up using Kaizen foam which is not as stiff as I’d like, but all in all it’s working pretty good. Definitely get their thin knife and long nose marker, they are a necessity.
