A 20 minute film made by Colin Robinson of the Manchester Model Railway Society's 2mm Finescale model railway which was called 'Chee Tor'. Film made on 16mm film in the early 1990s and transferred to digital.
You really bring it to life. Extraordinary attention to detail.
This just popped up out of nowhere, 07/24. I remember Chee Tor being in all the magazines at one time. It was a bench mark of its time, and extremely popular. Thanks for the nostalgia, 👍👍👍
Fabulous commentary. A lovely layout.
That’s me
Hi just wondered is this layout n gauge
I remember see this one at the railway club
Love u grandad please make more videos
Superb Ralph, an absolute joy for all the senses, superb narration and music, camera angles and model. It has the audio quality, that I too, really adore. Thank You 🙏
The layout is pure magic.
Absolutely amazing, I still come across this layout when browsing old magazines.
/Smooth operation of passenger and goods trains, excellent layout well done.
What a n amazing layout 👍👍
AMAZING layout. Congratulations
What a great layout and I enjoyed the full video. Don't see much like this now day seem to be in a hurry
This is an amazing layout - about as perfect as one can get. The setting, exquisite modelling, description, sound effects etc etc. This is my first viewing of your site and I have great expectations for more. Thank you and well done!
Great video and narration....takes me back to younger distant days and steam trains ...
The layout is pure magic. The grass embankments leading up to the station are stunning. Thanks for sharing this.
One of the best videos I've ever seen Superb all round, the story telling is perfect, thanks for sharing 👍👍👍
Stunning. The composition of the scenes are wonderful, it's an absolute masterpiece. You must be very proud. Very evocative and atmospheric. Thankyou!
What a fantastic video first time subscriber thanks for sharing

Very nice layout and video. Thank you for sharing!
Delightful . Thank you .
Model Rail Magic - Loved the Historical day to day aspect of the Commentary. Many Thanks 🙏🏻
If there was a league table for layouts, this would be right up there. I saw this layout many years ago but didn’t fully appreciate its beauty and magnificent modelling. The commentary just adds to the whole atmosphere. Absolutely fantastic. I’m building an n gauge layout based on this area, it will never be anything like this one. 😞
u hsould go to different layouts and do dialgue - i enjoyed listning to ur narratives as it was a great story/insite and droped history!!!
That was lovely lads.... thanks so much.
Fantastic!
Superb
Sorry it had to end.
Beautiful. So nice to be able to drift away, relax and dream of the days when life was seemingly so much nicer and dare I say less stressful and more enjoyable.
Wonderful glance into a fully realised bygone era.
Despite the short section of track in view this is the most entertaining presentation of model RR that I have seen. Absolutely wonderful. Ronn
I felt the stress draining away as I watched this marvellous layout and listened to the commentary. The birds twittering away in the background added to the calming effect too.
Very atmospheric and all that has been said before.
Wonderful concept- masterly filmed, very smoothly performed!👍
Ah, it has already been said. Magic layout, but also the commentary with the characters fleshed out and why they would be where and doing what to tie in with the train timetable. Pure magic. Thank-you.
This is probably one of the most enjoyable layout videos I have seen. Not only is the layout itself very high quality, the commentary really adds to the experience of watching the action. I would love to see more videos like this one. Thank you for going to the trouble of making it.
I couldn’t agree more! The nearest kind of layout I see like this, is Mouldy Raspberry’s layout. Here’s the latest of his videos ua-cam.com/video/FK-3KyVabmo/v-deo.html
fabulous ! Great layout and a marvellous film.
Is this any thing to do with what is now the Monsal Trail???
B/c @ 9:48 I've notice on the Station Platform there is a sigh saying "Chee Dale Change for Tideswell" - Is that suppose to be Millerdales Station???
Wonderful! A beautiful model railway with a marvellous commentary. I ewnjoyed it immensely. Thank you!
Quite wondrous, my sort of layout, truly lovely, the commentary and the layout. Thanks to all involved, it gives me great pleasure to watch this video, thankyou.
Lovely layout and such a shame it is no longer around in this country. At least I still have the pleasure of driving trains on the Settle and Carlisle line so the railway running through scenery like this is still alive, as is some of the atmosphere and cheerful banter between us drivers and the signalers.
Very nice layout and I love the narration on the video with the story telling. Lots of character! (Is this layout still around?)
The layout was sold and went to Canada. Heard nothing about it since.
why do you get a 3f jinty pulling an express passanger
I give up, why do you ?
Fantastic!
One of my all time favourite layouts. Had the pleasure of seeing it a couple of times.
a really nice layout pity I never saw it at shows when I was younger.
