It's so funny because in Mexico, many people call it Liru Sisa (the Spanish interpretation of the name). I feel like the smells and the light are like the fingerprints of a city/country. Hola Bob! I'd this park is so busy because it's Sunday. But yeah, during the weekends or the town fair, parks tend to get full of people, vendors and activities. Are parks in your city like this?

@@blueskiestamales Busier on the weekends, but not to the level of that one. Maybe if there is an event of some kind. The area I live in has a lot of lakes, so that draws much of the weekend recreation.

Thanks for the info Bob! Wish there were more water bodies in the city. There used to be rivers back in the 20th century, but due to the city expansion, the rivers were covered and incorporated as part of the sewage system. Are farmers' markets common there? Here we have something similar called Tianguis.

I remember you mentioned the thing about the rivers being covered in another video, I would like to hear more about that sometime. There is one decent sized farmer’s market around here open during the warm seasons. Farmers will sell by the roadside in the more rural areas.

Hi Nelson! Sorry it took me some time to reply. I'd say most months are nice to visit, except during the summer (June-August), because summers tend to be rainy. I like the rain, but the city becomes a chaos when it rains.

Hi Bob! Yes, that one of the oldest parks in Mexico City. In 2012, they open the park after 8 months of renovation works. The park really changed and now is used by so many people. Before the renovations, it was a dark, polluted and dangerous park to be. I think this is an example of how great urban design can change an area.

Yes, the flowering season is march thru june. On the island of Maui, Hawaii in the area named kula the hill side are full of purple jacaranda flowers so beautiful !

I think the ones you're talking about are these "xitas corpus temascalcingo". I had to look it up because I also didn't know. In Prehispanic times, the masks were used by farmers to get a good crop season. Later they were adapted to the Catholic traditions :D
