    When it gets superheated doesn’t that mess with the material hardness of the parts? Or is it just the heat expansion causing things to come out of tolerance? Perhaps both?

    • @TriStarWWPO
      @TriStarWWPO 14 годин тому

      Great question! Superheating can definitely affect both the material hardness and the dimensional tolerances of parts. It’s a complex interplay between heat expansion and changes in material properties.

    Initial adjustment. Remove plug on side of bowl ,engine running ,fuel trickle out at idle. Set

    • @TriStarWWPO
      @TriStarWWPO 3 місяці тому

      There is no way to know exactly where the float is positioned. You can make educated guesses, but you can't be certain. Fuel leaking from the sight hole is not a reliable indicator. It could be caused by a faulty O-ring on the needle and seat, allowing fuel to slowly trickle into the bowl even as it flows out of the sight hole. Then, people assume the float level is too high, so you start screwing the float adjustment downward until the fuel quits coming out of the sight hole. When no fuel is leaking, it means none is entering the bowl, and you think it's right, but you may have pinned the float to the bottom, cutting off the fuel. "If you set it @ 3/8 you know if you turn it 4 flats clockwise and it doesn't stop out the sight hole you got a problem. Set it & Forget It.

    Working on dissimilar metals sucks so bad. I feel for whoever worked on it and "ruined" it because it's real easy to do. People like to trash on mechanics but if you've worked on a lot of vehicles you might have more empathy with how impossible some jobs can be, and the blame that comes with it is not always fair. You may very well be asked to perform miracles at times.

Hell, i’ve even built my own 3 bedroom house by hand by myself at 23. Hard to explain how amazing it feels to have been able to do stuff like that is all ur own ya know? But aside the point, automotive industry’s already so dang costly, crappy workers at shops tend to just make it more costly which is unfortunately more common😭

    Hi, is it possible to leave out load springs 3-4 clutch in alto 9 frictions plate for clearance around 0.055 - 0.60? I live out of us and i have no any longer springs and the other hand the original one is short for nine frictions

    • @TriStarWWPO
      @TriStarWWPO 4 місяці тому

      You can leave them out but will not last as long due to parasitic drag / hydrostatic lock. Granted they are on in 3rd and 4th so the issue is for 1st and 2nd where this will occur and has potential to shorten the life of the 3-4 stack.

    • @TriStarWWPO

      The other, larger ball that I threw aside would be for the larger pin diameters - typically .310 - found in 1992 and older 4L60, also known as TH700-R4. For the 1993 models and onward, which are the first year for E units like 4L60E, the pin should be .230. Yes, you can reuse the original springs.
