    Your creations are awesome, and each one is very practical! I've also used the S1 to print some small household items, such as a dishwashing organizer and headphone stand, which is really convenient to use. Looking forward to sharing more from you!

    Little tip: The sharpening stone should be soaked in a water bath until no bubbles come up before starting sharpening. It should always be wet while sharpening. If it was just done dry for the video purpose to not have that mess on the table ignore my comment :)

      @@StarNestEngineering There are some good videos on UA-cam about it when you search for "wet stone sharpening" or "waterstone sharpening". If done right some mud / slurry will build up on top of the stone and the knife which helps sharpen it. It gets a bit messy and dirty, so better put a towel underneath, but with the right technique you'll get your Opinel knife much sharper. 👍 Takes some practice..i'm still learning too. But the guide you've printed helps a lot to keep a consistent angle.

      @@StarNestEngineering I'm doing this all the time. And if the text isn't on the top surface, I often make a little plate separately and glue it later. The model of course gets a negative imprint of the plate.

    • @dannylee6632

      Indeed. And they need to be made out of a spring steel

    • @JustPropane
      @JustPropane Місяць тому

      @@dannylee6632indeed and nope.... Some big mechanical springs with heavy usage needs to be froged using steel and heat... Where as small springs like springs in pens, toys can be made using steel wire which is called as 'taar' in hindi idk what its called in english.... Tar dont need to be heated to take shape also they are fragile and once stretched cant take their form. Back so. They are used in pens and toys which are cheaper compared to ones in gears and sofas

    The right technique for cutting vinyl discs is water jet cutting that allows fine details. Without toxic and corrosive gases.

  • @alainb2205
    @alainb2205 2 місяці тому

    Vinyl laser cutting due to high temperature, produces chlorine (gas very toxic for living), these gases ravage your machine even with good ventilation. The very fast corrosion of the machine elements is real. Experience made in a fablab, cutting in good quantity of vinyl disc. The damage to the machine cost as a replacement and in time to restore the machine.
