The very rare times i visited a starbucks (due to friends), i even didn't really notice the barista was writing my name on the cup lol.
No exaggeration; your podcast is the best-produced marketing podcast I've ever listened to. You are an inspiration. Thanks for all the excellent content!
Post is a legend
great information
in Australia, Coca-Cola is still widely referred to as Coca-Cola Classic, and the word "Classic" is indeed printed on the cans and bottles and soda fountain labels. This is a nod to the brand's rich history and heritage, as well as a way to differentiate the original formula from other variants like Diet Coke, Coke Zero, and others. It's interesting to note that while Coca-Cola has phased out the "Classic" label in some markets, it's still retained in others, like Australia, where the brand has a strong following and a deep cultural connection. So, enjoy your Aussie Coca-Cola Classic, and appreciate the nod to the brand's iconic legacy!
I never liked Walmart's six star. I like Walmart in ways, yet even they do not sell everything and they overcharge many things. Kmart was nice and they had a food section which was awesome. Walmart has Subway, yet I cannot go back to eating there. Walmart is good, yet the need to have a clinic really is a turn off to me. The clinic model is outdated in many ways. The vibe of it is terrible. The need for blood draws is really an old way of checking how the body does. Plus newer technology is making that less necessary, thank God.
Does that mean you can't buy a coke or Pepsi there?
my first job was at kmart until it closed down. going through my old junk last week and found some blueprints of the store i took home with me apparently lol.
Ebay haha
now talk about the amount of revenue they miss by not selling shelf space. That ends up in higher prices to the consumer
Then they bought SEARS and destroyed that company too.. Think about it... SEARs had one of the Largest Distribution networks in the world ALL SEARS needed was to sell all their physical STORES and sell MAIL ORDER and when Internet became huge... ONLINE SHOPPING... ALA AMAZON kMART FAILED BECAUSE THE PEOPLE WHO RAN THE COMPANY HAD no clue WHAT THEY WERE DOING..
Kmart is HUGE in Australia
Different corporate structure. Kmart there was a co-venture between then and Coles. Coles eventually bought then out so when the bankrupt in the us went down the Aus stores werent affected. Also Kmart is Aus is more like Target in the US. Target in Aus is a better feel for how Kmart was run in the US 😂
I truly miss k-mart, they had a little food court that I'd sit at with my grandma waiting for the blue light specials, always felt like a liminal space in the later years
Buying the failing Sears stores didn't help either.
Forcing suppliers to make less money forcing most smaller ones to close down ,just like they wiped out all the smaller retail stores. Paving the way for overseas suppliers to filter money out of country allowing them to raise become more powerful and thus lower our standard of living and create poverty by shutting down industry. Ps less industry will prevent the west from building arms up during a war of attrition.
The quality of this should have 990k views, almost didn't watch it because of view count. Not a whole lot out here on ole Sid though
Nice of you to say - hope you enjoyed it!
And that explains the cost of groceries. These stores are no longer passing on the discount to maximize profit /bonuses and investor
What happened to Kmart will also happen to Walmart. Walmart has been raising prices across the store and every piece of merchandise far beyond inflation. Couple of examples… A loaf of great value Walmart bread in February 2022 was $.88 as of April 2024 it is $1.42 per loaf. That is a price increase of 60%. The little fruit pies, used to be $.50, then they raise the price to $.74 that is a 50% increase and today they’ve raised it to $.82. So in two years time, the price of the little fruit pies has gone up by 65%. I used to pay $2.37 for a tub of potato salad that now cost $4.64. That’s almost a 100% price increase. How do I know all the stuff? It’s because I use Walmart pay to pay for everything I purchase at Walmart. Frankly the way they are robbing. The customers in the name of inflation is why I would like to see them go bankrupt.
i only shop there for one or 2 things i cant find elsewhere. i quit them for years after they treated my sister horribly after she had a bad car wreck and their insurance paid off her medicals. THEN for some reason they tried to make her pay back the money already paid out. she almost died and they wanted their freaking $$$$ back. that fu**ed up company is screwing their employees out of health insurance by not giving them the hours they need to qualify for said benefits. if they work more than 35 hours a week, they hold back on the hours the next week so they cant get what they deserve. i hope they go under.
Now they destroy economies, pay employees pennies and take away jobs....classic.
Back in the early 1980s HellMart bragged that if they saw more than 5 people in line they would open a new register. Now they just laugh and say TOUGH!
1.9 billion doesnt sound like alot 😂
US banks have like 46 trillion in combined holdings so like, ya it’s not that much!
*23 trillion.. I googled :)
I'd
Honestly my guy we’re on the edge of our seats here. I’d…. What?
You can't beat yourself for building something bad 😂
"When subject line is - clever but not clear" - thanks for sharing 👍
Instead they just need to negotiate for private label products, so the war is going on in the office instead of the grocery store
Exactly
How about return your rented items ON TIME so you don't have to pay late fees? How lazy are people to return the items? They hate the late fees because they couldn't steal what they rented
I remember bringing videos back on time and incurring late fees. I quit doing business with them and went to the mom and pop video store. That's why they went out of business here.
Maybe return it the day after you watch it? It takes like 10 minutes
Our blockbuster closed and I got to keep all my DVDs I rented for the week, permanently ☺️
that's amazing lol
Maybe don't return it half a week later and complain about TWO WHOLE DOLLARS as a repercussion
You’re the only one talking about half a week
Ty for this info!😌
I am confused
Great insight - thank you
I guess was more popular in Europe
Your content is so good appreciated dear ❤
Hi, amazing video. Can you specific to which MIT study you reffer? Thanks
That references the work of Ann Graybiel and team at MIT - looking back at my notes I believe I misspoke, and I should’ve said “research from” MIT and not “study” as that implies a single study. And as far as I could find, there’s no single study that discovered cue routine and reward. Instead that’s the product of many studies in the late 90s and early 2000s, and author Charles Duhigg coined the phrase “habit loop” as a clever shorthand to that framework.
Superb - have always loved choice hacking's newsletters. It's great that the podcasts are out. This will be very very popular pretty soon. Interesting content.
Glad you enjoyed it!
loved this 🙂
The whole thing was weird
Well done. Kate. Well done
She deserves All the accolades and reward
Wow your channel is so underrated
This makes sense why kids miss blockbuster... your parents paid those late fees
😂 exactly
this channel is so underrated
Still got full sealed cans of New Coke, that ain't new no more !
You could probably sell those for a fortune 😂
I was one of the dozen people who actually liked New Coke.
I'm old enough to remember the new coke ordeal, and it tasted horrible. It was all sweet and no cola flavor. I can remember scouring grocery store shelves for crates of old coke to stock up on it, and huge piles of new coke boxes sitting in the middle of our grocery store isles.
its kinda still in Australia
Different company entirely.
really good video, and nicely edited 🔥
Thanks! I just peeked at your channel - I’ve seen you on TikTok! :) I’m also an American in the UK so I think that’s why.
Love listening to these videos while I edit! These must take so much time to make
